Don't sleep on Black Bear Diner!!! When it comes to turkey dinners, especially at diners, I am HARD to please! This turkey dinner FAR exceeded my hopes and dreams! It was the quality of turkey you would expect at a Thanksgiving by Martha Stewart. If you told me that I would want to ever drink turkey gravy, I would have laughed at you! But it was THAT good! And the green beans with bacon and red skinned mashed potatoes (I opted no gravy) combo of sides just kept competing with each other in my mouth for which one was most delicious! We also can't ignore the side salad. I got it with Thousand Island but they also offer other dressings, including Bacon Ranch. I ate the cucumbers and cherry tomatoes before I could stop myself and take the photo. I had been craving a salad and if this side salad alone was my dinner, I would have been thrilled! It was Farmers' Market fresh down to each piece of lettuce! Even my dog begged for a piece of the lettuce! Not pictured is the corn bread muffin that was quickly devoured by my husband, who had dinner before elsewhere and insisted that he wasn't hungry! This is quickly becoming my favorite in Odessa! If you told me that a diner would top places like Sid and Sam's or Cowboy Prime, I would have laughed but it really is that level of quality! And all of our orders have been via DoorDash so far. 5 stars all the way ! Service is fantastic! Don't get me started on their freshly squeezed orange juice ok it's the best I've had ! One of the newer places in the area. Katie my server was very friendly and attentive while I sat the the counter. Expect a long wait for larger groups during weekends. Comfy chairs to watch the chaos at the kitchen window. Worth a stop for breakfast and give the extraordinary french toast a try. Biscuits and gravy is a great side order. What a great addition to the Odessa/Midland area! Cool diner atmosphere, loaded with bears everywhere! Our waitress was attentive and patient as we scanned the decent menu of many breakfast and lunch items.. My family of 5 had a great experience here! Our server Chadrick was AWESOME and went above and beyond in his service. We have a 3 year old who can be a little much and he had lots of patience with him and all our little ones all together. He was also on top of everything and made our first experience a great one. First visit. Service attitude was great. Actually getting the meal is slow. And staggered. Chicken fried steak was very overcooked to the point of not being able to cut the meat or the bread and the hamburger was so well done that it was dry. He is pretty particular about his breakfast, particularly the balance of the value vs the taste, quality and quantity (as one should be) and he raved about his meal and whole Jimmy's Egg experience, especially their grits and sausage. He had so much food and we talked about what he would and wouldn't get next time to better fit his appetite and budget. The coffee was also piping hot and perfect with free refills. Our server, Gwen was exceptional and had the prettiest purple pen, notepad and accessories. Thank you Gwen and the rest of the Jimmy's Egg staff for the wonderful food and service you provided me and my dad! He'll be back and I will be back whenever Im in town.

I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and a side of chips. The croissant was fresh and appeared to be homemade. The salad was full of chunks of chicken and I enjoyed the grapes in it too. It was a huge sandwich, so I was only able to eat half of it. Would like to go back and try other menu items. Oh! Our waitress was so friendly and helpful with the menu.

The food is nothing fancy, just typical diner-style food, but it's tasty and filling, and they're always happy to customize things to fit my dietary needs. Prices are rising everywhere, of course, but all things considered Huddle House is very affordable. We're always seated immediately (and always were, even before we were regulars), and the servers are friendly and seem eager to provide a good experience. One time I was seated where an air conditioner vent was blowing right on me and I was cold. I asked if it could be turned down a little and they did it right away, no questions asked. We used to eat at IHOP or Dennys a lot, and they're fine, but always very crowded and chaotic and loud, and the employees are overworked, which makes them forget things and make mistakes on a regular basis. That never happens at Huddle House. When we go, there are always a good number of other customers, but because it's a smaller restaurant, it's much less chaotic and the employees are able to provide better service to each customer. We really enjoy the calmer vibes and highly recommend it as a good diner-style alternative.
