My family and I dined here as a group of ten (along with some squabbling babies in tow), and the staff was incredibly accommodating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Getting a table at the far side of the restaurant, with perfect views of the lake, felt like winning the lottery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has a diner-like variety and the food is decent. The burgers were the clear favorite. It was ordered by most of our party, and it's pretty stacked with veggies, bacon, AND two sausage slices (a random topping, but who's going to complain about more processed protein? Not me!). Anyone who ordered fries at the table had to endure sharing with those who didn't because they arrived irresistibly hot and fresh. A few things fell just a little flat. The mozzarella wrap was a little plain and bland, and someone who ordered the French onion soup ended up scraping most of the cheese layer off, pronouncing it to be just 'a little too much'. But throughout our meal, service was polite and responsive, making it a great spot to grab a bite in spite of the few meal falls. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The views are likely the best part of dining here, especially if you're lucky enough to snag a spot closest to the waterfront views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were too large a group to take advantage, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]if you're a smaller party and the weather's favorable, I'd definitely ask about getting a seat up on the second floor patio where I'd bet the view of Mirror Lake would be even more stunning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Restaurant was not busy, short wait for a table. The host is very kind and speedy! Sat down and promptly was greeted with water and bread. After that, we had to wait to order food for QUITE awhile. It almost felt like maybe they had forgotten about us. When food came out it was warm and as ordered. Ribeye and chicken tortellini. Both good and prepared as described on the menu. Waiting again for boxes and check. I will say, we spent the majority of our time here WAITING for "the next step." [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall the place is cozy and small, staff is kind but it definitely could use some buttoning up in the customer service area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stunning views of Mirror lake. Service was slow but it was packed. Food was good and prices were reasonable. We were lucky to find a place to serve us. Everything was packed. Ordered spiedini, lol it's mozzarella sticks. I don't think they have a true understanding of what spiedini is. I'm a New York City girl. You can never get away with that in the city. But it's a Lake Placid restaurant. so don't expect much. A must try if in area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is truly horrific.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been to LP 100x and always walked past this place but on an exceptionally cold night and not wanting to walk further me and the wife decided to stop in. Besides how worse could a 3.5 yelp review be? Much much worse. So check out the pics...1st warning sign? [[HIGHLIGHT]]The giant Viking funeral pyre boat filled with peppermints.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] #2 you ask? [[HIGHLIGHT]]The grease stained money shot of a specials list that I was afraid to handle without surgical gloves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] #3? When I ask what you've got for Cabernet and you show me a large format bottle with about 4 oz in it. All set!! So now we're trapped...you want some sort of fish? Well, we've got "fish", "fried fish" and "seafood". But where's the veal parm? Under the chicken section. Duh!! We also have "pastas" and "sauces". So listen, we're here, we'll get an appy. And challenging is an understatement because most of it looks not good. So we get some sort of "I'm not a chef but let's get some mozzarella sticks from Sysco and throw some shit on it. The shit? Canned mushrooms, canned roasted red peppers...some old cubed up dry ham? Yep! How about some brown gravy from last week? Yep. Just stay away. Oh yeah, and don't throw 4 day old bread in the microwave.

Poutine... Made with shredded cheese?

Accessible entrance. Conveniently located. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Advertises lakefront patio seating, but it was not offered. Presumably because it's mid-Oct now.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we asked about sitting near the window, as the view offered was a large reason we chose here, we were told it was unavailable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were only 2-3 tables of people, but okay... I'm not one to make a scene.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Poutine served was an atrocity to the name. Given our proximity to Canada, and the amount of traffic this town sees from Canada, I'd think poutine is something you'd nail. Shredded cheese? WTF We had the bacon, mushroom, Swiss burger. Zero seasoning on the patty, or the mushrooms. The "bacon" looked to be the microwaveable kind. Definitely not worth The amount of money I spent on this meal.

Our first time in lake placid and we came here after a long hike, our family of 5 we asked to be seated outside and they were happy to accommodate us. Our server was very kind that my kids started cleaning the plates and helping clear the table to make it easier for him! Food was good, the fish and chips actually was great it was well seasoned not oily and very nice. The kids meal chicken strips wasn't that good, hard and not well cooked at some sides. But the view is definitely amazing and the rest of the meal was really good

Came for drinks and dessert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Amazing carrot cake. Very attentive service. Had great conversation about Montenegro and Bosnia.

Lobster Ravioli w Shrimp
John K.

Last night I had the Lobster Ravioli with shrimp and it was phenomenal. Along w a white cream sauce it also had mushrooms, roasted tomato, baby asparagus and artichokes. The shrimp were cooked lightly which is my preference and the ravioli was just perfect. All the other vegetables in the cream sauce were done to perfection. I don't live locally but if I return would come back and will recommend this place to others. My wife also had a chicken meal that she also loved. Service was also cheerful and on point.

Poutine absolutely the best!

Courses arrived at an appropriate pace, and the team was accommodating and professional from start to finish. Overall, we were very pleased with the experience. My only criticism was dessert: the portion felt surprisingly small for an $18 menu price. The complimentary macarons helped soften the blow. We also had breakfast at The View. The menu and staff seem to steer guests toward the buffet, as ordering à la carte doesn't make much financial sense. Unfortunately, the buffet was underwhelming. The scrambled eggs were disappointing, the pastries tasted as though they had been sourced elsewhere rather than made in-house, and the much-touted granola was served alongside packaged Chobani yogurt, which felt somewhat at odds with the restaurant's upscale positioning. Service remained attentive, but even the staff seemed less than enthusiastic about the buffet offering. There is definitely room for improvement.

We spent the week in Lake Placid for Spring Break, and we could not have been more happy to find this place, especially since we had our dog with us. Lisa G's feels like the kind of place you wish you had back home. We sat out on the porch with a perfect view of the water and our golden retriever happily at our feet. That alone would have been enough, but the food made sure we stayed awhile. We started with the wings. These are true buffalo wings. Not breaded, just well sauced and done right. We also ordered the cheese treat and it completely stole the show. Feta, spices, and jalapenos over fresh arugula, scooped onto toasted bread. It is one of those dishes where you keep saying just one more bite until suddenly it is gone. For dinner we tried the shrimp tacos, which have quite a reputation. As Texas people we were a little unsure about the pineapple salsa, but it works. Bright and just sweet enough. The slaw is mellow and tangy and ties everything together in a way that feels thoughtful rather than trendy. The fish and fries surprised us the most. Easily the best fish and chips we have had in years. Real haddock with a light crisp fry and a rich house made tartar sauce that does not play second fiddle. Chance said he usually only likes fish and chips for the fried part, but here he actually liked the fish itself. That tells you everything. The fries are the kind you keep reaching for long after you are full. Our teen ordered the burger and it disappeared before we could negotiate a bite. Former picky eaters do not lie. We tried the Julian cocktail, which drinks like a confident mai tai. The riesling missed the mark a bit. Next time we would go for the sauvignon blanc or the house white. The service felt like the best version of small town hospitality. Warm, easy, and full of good local recommendations. Our pup loved it. We loved it. We will be back. --Chance and Becky All Ahead Slow

Drinks were messed up and orders had to be repeated about 3 separate times. The restaurant was not busy, so I'm unsure how this could've happened. Some of the food was good - those who got the french dip sandwiches enjoyed it, as well as the wings. However, the black bean burger and beef stroganoff were average. It didn't blow us out of the water. The stroganoff had good flavor but was sitting in a pool of oil so that put some people off. I am visiting town, but unfortunately I would not come again if I return to Lake Placid due to the disorganization, errors, long wait for food and lack of food quality to make up for the prior problems.

While staying in Lake Placid I came here for dinner on a Tuesday night, getting there around 6PM,…read morethey had a decent amount of people sat inside and on their back deck. I sat on the back deck, overlooking Mirror Lake and it was beautiful, especially in the summer evening. Menu is simple Italian with all the normal, popular Italian dishes, nothing really unique, but plenty of delicious options. I started with their meatball appetizer - They were very nice! The order comes with two huge meatballs that are very tender and nicely seasoned. The sauce was slightly light in flavor and not as thick as I would have liked, but still pretty good. Their table bread they brought out with it came with a very tasty olive oil that was seasoned with garlic and herbs. The bread was served warmed, slightly toasted and was great. Next up was their basic starter salad - this was pretty nice too. Dressing was good and veggies were fresh. My entrée was their Rigatoni Ala Vodka - This was really good. The flavors were perfect and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Overall, I thought dinner was great. Service was excellent and attentive too.
