On our first visit I had eggs over easy, liver mush,rye toast,hash browns and ice tea. My wife had eggs over easy, biscuit, gyro meat, hash browns and ice tea. Everything was perfect. Our waitress Kayla explained to me that the liver mush was locally made and it was delicious! My wife said the gyro meat was authentic and I tried some and it was great. This is also the first time in a loooong Time that my hash browns were cooked correctly. Brown and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Kayla (our waitress ) was super nice and we found out that she lives near us! The cook was a pro and even said good bye when we left. I highly recommend Bessie's and look forward to our next meal there!

Their tables are set with just a fork in a sanitary bag so you have to ask for a knife and a spoon for coffee. Also butter does not come with your biscuit/toast either. You have to ask for it. Speaking of toast, it's not even toasted. I think it's thrown on the cooktop and barely warmed. It's the little things that should be expected of a restaurant that I have complaints about.

My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife's pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren't warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn't even attempt to butter it. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean. On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent!
