Their food was so good that I devoured everything and wasted no time taking a photo for Yelp (oops!). I got the Chokes on Eggs which I 10/10 recommend! My family and I stumbled upon this spot in the evening and decided to try it the following morning. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and even though it was busy, we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. I ordered the morning melt (breakfast sandwich) with a side of breakfast potatoes. I wasn't keen on any of the protein options offered, but they were able to add deli turkey instead to accommodate my preferences. My first visit to Black Mountain and we had breakfast here. You are assigned a table by the hostess and then stand in line to order and the server delivers to your table. I had the garden veg avocado toast with a side of grits. My son ordered the full size biscuits and gravy. Others had omelettes with home fries. À plus for all. Impressed that they'd crisped the biscuits before pouring the gravy. We grabbed some pastries for later and I can say the cheesecake brownie was also delicious. We stopped in with our dogs on a Monday for brunch around 10:30. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. I had the standard with scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon and toast and my husband had the GOATS omelette with capers added to it. It was all delicious including the coffee. You know when you go somewhere and the food is good but the coffee isn't?? Not here! They've got the full package. On the way out I decided to go in and get a sweet treat for later. I went with the chocolate pop tart and then they had a basket of day old pastries that they were selling for $1 each (normally $3+). I wish I had bout all 3 items but we try to limit our sweets. Really, I don't care about a cookie being day old...so that was a total score! That day old peanut butter cookie was awesome!!! Very popular place with what could be the best chicken and waffles I've ever had! We came here on a Monday for brunch and there was still a pretty long line. The outdoor seating was pleasant, it's in a neighborhood next to a church, where you hear the bells. I tried a piece of the chicken and it was moist and flavorful. I would probably ask for a slice of lemon next time for the sauce. I had the Firebird Melt, and that baby had quite the kick to it! All natural turkey, all natural bacon, aged cheddar, tomato, cooked jalapeño, and chipotle mayo. Flavor and spice, oh how nice! Perfect eye opener to get the day moving! Came with a side of homemade French fries which were perfectly crispy on the outside and just perfect on the inside. I also tried the Hog Heaven Benedict. Expertly poached egg, creamy and tangy hollandaise sauce, served on top of slices of all natural bacon, sitting on top of biscuits that were grilled up in the bacon drippings. The person working the counter was knowledgeable, patient, and kind in helping us place our order. We sat outside for the lovely fall ambiance, and our food arrived quickly. I ordered the chicken & waffles, which was an excellent choice. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy, but... beware that it comes with the chipotle syrup already drenching the waffle. As someone who likes very little syrup, I would've preferred to apply it myself. Overall, a great visit, with friendly people, in a quaint atmosphere. I love that they keep the classics but add a local twist. You can keep it simple or spice it up. Plenty of options for all- healthy or hearty, vegetarian or meat lover. I sat outside and worked a bit as they have Wi-Fi. Was a hit lonely and cold. Not the most comfy seating but nice they have the option. I got the egg breakfast with poached eggs. Always a treat cause I'm too lazy to do anything but over easy for myself. Perfectly poached too. The grits and potatoes are both good options but I opted for grits this time.
