Fourth night of dinner in Red Lodge and our least favorite place. Let's start with the positive. Love that you can sit openly in the bar area. The waitress was also very nice. We got the Street Corn Dip and it was not as described. It was very smoky which we would have never ordered if the menu stated as such. We ate about 1/4 of it and normally that would acknowledge the waitress or someone to notice but no one asked. All good. I had the curried gnocchi which was a decent vegetarian option but just ok. My husband ordered a tall boy Coors Light which was a normal 12 ounce can (not sure why it was called a tall boy). Oh and there are flies everywhere in the restaurant so I was constantly trying to swat them away. Not sure why as we haven't been in one place in Red Lodge with flies (not even open bars with all the windows and doors open). That part was really gross!!!! read more

We were seated fairly fast but our waitress seemed rushed when she was talking to us and taking our orders. There were a lot of flys inside the restaurant that kept landing on us and our food which was unpleasant. The chicken strips were not good at all; over seasoned and dry. The chicken sandwich needed more flavor. The elk stroganoff had good sauce and noodles but the elk steaks seemed very light in compared to the pasta portion on the plate. The margarita was all tequila and no mix. Overall it was not a very good dining experience and I wouldn't recommend eating there especially for the prices that are being charged and the quality of the food being served. read more

Love this place. It's easy but classy. The people are solid--Delaney was our server and she was attentive, helpful, and just plain kind. The elk medallions were, dare I say, life changing. Im so glad this was the only place open on this Monday night, it was marvelous! I got the Elk Stroganoff, and it was INCREDIBLE. The noodles are handmade from a local company, and you could tell they were fresh. While they dont have an official kids menu, dont shy away! They have several options available that they are willing to tell you about, including chicken tenders, butter noodles & sliders. The server was SO kind, and patient with our little one. read more

This was served to me as a medium rare filet?!??? Was so overcooked it looked like a cow pattie. I could not eat it. Was offered a new one but everyone was done so I just said no. A scoop of mashed potatoes about the size of a small cookie. I ate them but the steak was by far the worse ever. How they get 5 stars baffle me. No one at our table of 5 were impressed. Salmon good but very small. Add a few more potatoes maybe to make presentation better. Salmon came with 4 halves of baby red potatoes. Men weee still hungry. This place use to be good. What a thoroughly disappointing dinner! We arrived and waited 20 minutes past our reservation time before getting a table. A loud amplified guitarist and a harmonica player made it almost impossible to hear once inside. I ordered a glass of red wine which arrived in a chilled glass and served at about 38 degrees - so cold that it was tasteless. When I asked the server she inquired of the bar staff who told her the wine was served at "European cellar temperature." No, that would be 60 degrees, not sub-40. Next up was the Caesar salad with way too much dressing drowning it. Then a Bistro Burger so overly salty that I didn't finish it. Accompanied by fries that were soft and lukewarm. My friend ordered fettuccini Alfredo and got a different type of pasta that he said had an unpleasant gummy texture. It was also heavily over salted. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! read more

We're on a long motorcycle trip and really needed a good meal. I can see why the ratings are so high. We had Casidee for a server and she did an outstanding job. I had the chicken Alfredo. It was like something you would get in a 5 star restaurant including presentation. We ordered the Brussel sprout appetizer and the chef brought it out. I let him know how great he did. Great restaurant in downtown Red Lodge. We was here during the motorcycle rally '23. The place was popping we got right in. We ordered the garlic shrimp-delicious- and the chicken fried steak-very delicious- a lil different flavor of any other chicken fried steak that I've had Also the mashed potatoes & gravy were excellent as well! Definitely be back. They also had a singer songwriter performing and he was very good. Dinner and a show. Awesome read more

Mmm the 5 stars took me by surprise since the kitchen was t 5 star tonight. Nice young man who serviced me. Sort of bougie ambiance. The food was not up to par even though price was reasonable. I ordered a drink which arrived after my food. My chicken was obviously precooked and heated up and I asked fries well done and for soggy and cold. They did replace them after I complained and I ate them while I walked back to my hotel. Not what I expected with a 5 star rating. Did I mention none of the food in the photos was on the menu! Another one bites the dust. When BCB first opened, it was very much like many other early concept restaurants in RL. Attentive owners, great food, great service. Sadly now it's another RL restaurant that has been struck by the RL Market Death Star. They cheapened their service. Just tonight we had a young waitress deliver our food by tossing our plates on the table, not knowing who had ordered what dish. She literally placed our plates in the middle of the table for all attendees to figure it out... and then she commented... "Uh, there you go" as she walked away. One of the most amazing meals we've ever had - and we seek out good food everywhere we go! Our server was wonderful - pleasant, kind, just enough chatter to be friendly but not overwhelming! Cocktails were delicious; we both had several of the same beverage and worth every penny! Our dinner was every bit as spectacular as the service and the cocktails. My husband had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and I had the elk medallions which were knock-your-socks-off delicious! We skipped dinner and went across the street to the pizza joint for a skillet cookie instead of opting for an in-house dessert. Nice Main Street location. Open seating in the front was a little noisier and bustling. Reservations in the back a little more intimate and quiet. Our server Shay was a delight! We tried the dates, had a truly exceptional beet salad which they split for us in the kitchen, and likewise split the French dip. They have an in house pastry chef so we shared a beautiful butter cake with caramel. The food was really good. The sandwich was just a touch greasy. A really nice selection of wine by the glass. This would have been a five rating but the kitchen staff were loudly discussing personal business and someone was very vocal about a crabby customer that ruined their day. For dessert we shared a Butter Cake which is a must have if you are fortunate enough to visit this place. Alex, our server, was the best. New to Red Lodge, this place will become a must go dining experience. The staff was great and the food even better! We had a party of 8 so got to sample so many different things. We started off with lobster sliders and crab cakes (pictured). Both were fantastic and the plating of everything was so appealing. Our table enjoyed the elk medallions (recommend cooked medium-which was perfect), pasta Thermidor (shells, mushrooms, peppers, shrimp and oh my goodness the sauce!), bacon wrapped scallops, salmon served right on the cedar plank, ribeye, and French onion soup. As the main courses are served a la cart, we also ordered plenty of sides to share. We were so full I can't recommend a dessert but I would've loved to try the huckleberry crème brûlée! read more

Popped in on a Thursday while passing through town and holy cow were we glad we did! We were on a coast to coast road trip and this was easily the best food we had any where. While the food was exceptional the best part was our amazing waiter, Jake. He was so sweet and very attentive. Best service we have ever had! There was also live music and the two guys playing were amazing and so funny. We had the wild game board and crab cakes. Game board included pheasant, bison, yak, kangaroo and ostrich. All of it was delicious. Crab cakes were so crispy and packed with flavor. For dinner we had the elk stroganoff, salmon and chicken fried steak. Everything came out hot and melt in your mouth delicious! The elk stroganoff was absolutely to die for!!!! We couldn't leave without trying their butter cake with caramel ice cream and caramel sauce. Between 3 adults and a kid we couldn't eat it all but boy was it delicious. If I could I'd give this place a way higher rating! Literally cannot say enough good things. read more

We were quite disappointed with our dinners. One person ordered Chicken Piccata pasta. It was described as: "Pasta, grilled chicken, white wine lemon caper sauce". What was delivered was clumpy pasta in a bland cream sauce, with flavorless chicken. The cream sauce, which had an unusual, unpleasant texture, overwhelmed everything so nothing else could be tasted. The other person ordered a dish from the "Salads" section of the menu. It was listed as steak and endive. The expectation was for salad ingredients (greens) along with endive and pieces of steak. The dish was actually a piece of steak, with a side of grilled endive. Since the intent was to order a healthy, balanced dinner, the dish did not meet expectations. The grilled asparagus was fine. The salted caramel custard was great. We ordered to go, so couldn't send the food back and most of the pasta dish had to be discarded. read more

We had dinner here a few weeks ago, and we will most certainly return. There was no wait for a table even though it was busy when we first arrived. The level of service was exceptional! Quick and amiable. There was just a single waiter, but she was excellent! It seemed that everyone in the restaurant was happy. The proprietors emerged to assist with serving food to tables and mixing beverages. In addition to being excellent, the meal was inventive.
