I'll start with the positives... cute little coffee shop with a pretty decent amount of seating. Would be good for meeting someone to chat over coffee. The drinks are good... they got me to try a peppermint matcha and I fell in love. Theirs is the best I've found so far with that flavor added. The employees as a whole are nice and helpful. The cons... a lack of outlets is a BIG deal for me. I cowork and meet people for that a decent amount, so that makes it difficult to do. Secondly, the parking is pretty terrible. Not their fault obviously, but it's hard to find parking most times and it's only 2 hour parking, so having any work meetings there aren't the best. I'd definitely recommend it if you're not thinking of working/coworking, but for that specifically, I wouldn't. read more

Oh my gosh this place is so cute! It's in this beautiful old building and the coffee shop has a wide entranceway with seating and then two big windows looking out with seating on either side. It's really lovely. They have a really nice drink menu, but also have sandwiches, bagels, pastries, etc. I was just passing through so I got a matcha latte with oat milk to go and it was great! A little sweet, but very frothy, which is my favorite, and hot but drinkable. The girl at the counter was lovely and my drink came out quickly. The design aesthetic in here was beautiful. The Barista/Cashier was super nice and helpful. The coffee was good. My only complaint is that he was the only one working that day (Sunday), so it took forever to get our order. Much longer than the 10mins he said it would take, which is already kinda long for a coffee shop. We were in there for at 30mins. Maybe someone called in sick, so we're gonna cut this place some slack :) I would still recommend it, but I'd watch to make sure there are at least 2 people working before you stand in line. read more

Delicious coffee and such a cute space! Absolutely love the amount of natural sunlight this place gets. Perfect spot to study or read. I got a single shot espresso extra hot, and it was perfect. Even with the single shot, I was still able to taste the espresso very clearly. And they nailed it with the heat! Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area! read more

Finally a fully functioning workspace and coffee shop in the deep Eastern part of Nashville. Black Press is located inside of the Public Square co-working space and has all the caffeinated needs of a remote worker. Cold press coffee, cortados, lattes, americanos, and the list goes on. The snack offerings here are small, so don't think you'll be getting a full breakfast. They do have cookies, muffins, oatmeal and on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; Five Daughters bakery loads them up with all sorts of 100-layers donuts! Pro-Tip: There's a board room area that's open to the public and a huge basement for a little more privacy. read more

If I could rate this place 10 stars, I would. I had a hot Cuban and it was the best coffee I've had in a long time. The warm buttered croissant I had with it was delicious as well. Secondly, the place was very clean, cozy, and relaxing to hang out in. And finally, most importantly, the service was AMAZING. Tyler and Harris were so kind and fun and truly made the entire experience. I haven't encountered people that friendly and helpful in forever. I wanted to stay, work there, and hang out with them! They made it a wonderful way to start my weekend. I live about an hour away, so it made me sad that I will rarely be visiting. If this place was near where I lived, I would visit daily, especially if Tyler and Harris were working. read more

I've been to black press coffee shop #001 a few times since it is closer to where I live, but decided to check out this location out while I was in the area one day. The public square location is beautiful with lots of indoor seating. I got their Tanzania Mwalyego PB coffee and it was delicious. I've also tried their seasonal "in bloom" latte. I asked for half the sweeter that is normally put in and it was very good. The coffee can be a bit on the pricey side but the quality is definitely there. We plan to check out their third location in the near future. read more

I like coming here with friends and family to just sit and enjoy our time. I did take a look around where offices are and this place is so pretty. It's clean contemporary look. We often struggle to find great coffee when visiting smaller towns around Nashville but Black Press did not disappoint! Great vibe, friendly staff, and amazing coffee. The space is shared with offices and meeting space (see my photo) but you almost don't even notice as the cafe takes up the first half of the building when you walk in. Plenty of seating (of various types) and a nice quiet vibe. Nothing worse than a super loud coffee shop and this spot was definitely relaxed and laid back with plenty of room and good acoustics. I loved the vintage pieces and the bright open seating areas with huge windows to let the light in. Check it out! read more

A Saturday morning exploration of old Gallatin led me to this gem of a cafe. What a treat! Impeccable design, spacious and full of wood, vintage pieces, and good vibes. The staff were friendly and attentive, the iced coffee was perfect, and they provided a small water dish for my dog! They serve Five Daughters Bakery donuts too! Consistently good lattes! We like the atmosphere and the staff is friendly. Definitely the best coffee in Gallatin and Hendersonville. The pastries are yummy...HOWEVER, if you're unable to get them fresh day of, it's terribly hard and unpleasant to eat them after sitting on the counter and getting stale for a few days. We've had some yucky experiences so I usually just ask how old the pastries are. I get that they can't have fresh pastries every day, so it's a grace that's needed to give, especially since they are all very yummy- but for the consumer who's picky or non-local, I could see this being an upset. The toast options are yummy too, but a little expensive and pretty small. They do have a bagels and cream cheese option as well. They use to have these amazing pop tarts. It didn't matter how many days old they were, they still tasted great. Wish they would bring those back. (Please bring them back haha) I'd say this place is a must visit while in town square. Let me start by saying I have heard about black press but haven't gone in before and ordered online to pick up as my first time going int. My mind was blown when I got to the store to pick up my order and the barista waited until I got there to pour my coffee over ice. This is a little detail that spoke volumes for me- rather than just making it and letting it sit until I picked it up. Seriously so shocked and feel so special. I have worked at coffee shop for four years and it's not something that people usually think about- or even care about but it seriously stood out to me. The website was super easy to navigate, especially if you're getting modifications or want to add to your coffee. I will most definitely be back! read more

Had a simple vanilla latte which tasted anything but simple. The foam on top was so good it was almost whipped cream. Definitely going back.

My daughter and I tried them on July 4th. Their coffee had a horrible aftertaste. It was pretty much undrinkable but We had already left otherwise we would've gone back. The young gentleman working was very nice but wasn't sure why their card machine wasn't working so we couldn't use our cards to pay which was frustrating. read more

While walking through the small downtown area , happy to find this coffee shop. Great space and even better coffee. I can't remember the name of the iced latte I tried-- bee something. It was honey and blackberry. I don't usually like fruit flavor with coffee, but I highly recommend this. If I lived in the area, this would def be my go to coffee shop. The music isn't annoying or overpowering. It has a trendy coffee shop vibe without the noise and busyness of a Nashville shop. Good coffee, but owner should really think about being ADA compliant. Tables in main area set at bar height and to get to the lower tables and seating there were steps to go up. I walk with a cane, I could have gotten up into the he bar height seating or up the steps, but getting down would have been challenging. I don't believe someone in a wheelchair would be able to do it. read more

I have been here once and am in love! I tried their "Cuban" which they offer both hot and iced and contains a "secret ingredient" that makes the brew taste amazing! Black press offers a high end atmosphere at an affordable price! Including private rooms that allow you to enjoy your drink with coworkers and get some work done at the same time!
