Justin did an outstanding job. He analyzed the situation, was very polite and explained what had happened and what he planned to do to solve the problem. We agreed to the price and he went back under the house. When he finished there were two new spickets and no more leaking water! The best part is the agreed price remained the same. All digital contracts were emailed and received to print for my records. Two thumbs way up!!

For complete transparency: Called Black Hills because power was lost in back of house. I contacted them via yelp and was informed of the dispatch fee but they failed to mention the diagnosis and repair fee until the technician arrived. Tyler was great at finding the issue: a circuit breaker was not secured with a screw. Tyler went a bought a new circuit breaker and reinstalled it. The power is back on in that room. But the total cost was $744.86! Cost break down: $129 dispatch fee (just for them to come out). Then there is a flat diagnostic and repair fee of $550. The diagnostic and repair charges should be separate and relevant to the work completed. Some repairs may actually only be less than $100 (like mine) and some maybe more but a flat fee is ridiculously high. Tyler was great though, professional, friendly, and did a great job. I'm not happy with the final bill and I know it's not Tyler's fault but Black Hills needs to do better because their pricing seems predatory and excessive for a circuit breaker issue. All repairs are not the same! Ask for total cost upfront before scheduling an appointment.

This is the broken pipe underneath the sink which was dislocated from the faucet.

I live in a 1971 mobile home. My hot water line broke off of my sink faucet and flooded my bathroom on 9/13/2024. I called Black Hills on 9/14/2024 after determining that I wouldn't be able to fix the plumbing myself. I told Black Hills that it was mobile home because sometimes plumbers and electricians won't touch mobile homes due to different types of standards. When Black Hills came out, I was greeted by Greg. He told me that I would have to go through a mitigation expert because the bathroom floor was too spongy (the flood happened three days prior) and potential black mold. They wanted me to replace my hot water heater, get new piping and a new faucet for this simple repair. So, I paid my $141.51 just for them to look at it and they referred me to a mitigation expert who came at the same day. The mitigation expert told me that all I needed to do was place a piece of plywood on the floor and didn't see any black mold and told me to go ahead and get the plumbing fixed. I bought the plywood to be placed on the floor and made an appointment online for Saturday morning (9/21/2024). Black Hills called me up and said they don't do weekends and the plywood was not enough. They wanted me to have the mitigation company to destroy my entire bathroom before they could work on it. They claimed it was an OSHA violation to do the plumbing. I promptly fired Black Hills and got another plumber, told them this story, and they told me they were willing to work on it by making a simple repair. The new plumber even came out for free just to look at it. Now I am out of $141.51+tax for work that never got done from Black Hills.

They charged me over $600 for a half-hour plumbing fix. Boycott Black Hills unless you have money to burn.

My LEAD PIPE from the STACK to the toilet developed holes from age and leaked. Danny with 47 years experience new how to proceed. He knew how to remove LEAD PIPING from the Joint at and inside the STACK, and then rebuilt the pipe in black 4" PVC up to my NEW toilet FLANGE. CARE : They gave me the better silicone rubber insert into existing STACK joint (thank you) and also gave me the upgraded stainless toilet FLANGE (thank you). I needed this job done delicately and with experience so while digging out the old broken Lead pipe, that my existing STACK would not get damaged or cracked... yikes. But alas, Danny and Steve pulled it off perfectly. This job was not cheap but i was paying for much more than standard plumbing on the job. They get an 11 on a 10-star scale. Bill Brower Tacoma Wa. P.S. I should add that Steve S. Is my regular plumber, he has done 4 jobs for me. Each time He listens to how i want to proceed and brainstorms with me on what to do. It is my belief that when you find a really good plumber, you hang on to him.

They came out 3 times and still didn't fix the leak, it is a new toilet (less than 2 years old) and was told I'd have to replace the toilet to fix it, they think is caused by microcracks. They charged over $500 and that seems overpriced just for coming and adding a wax ring and an extra nut. The plumber left his bucket of gloves and tools the first time and last time left his gloves. I understand charging for their time and service but now I'm out over $500 with same problem. I definitely won't be using them in my future. Good things: they were great at scheduling and showing up and being communicative with that.

I've got only one gripe and it's a real "first world problem" because I didn't get a thermostat that could be controlled with Apple HomeKit. I know I'm whining a bit. in truth, things didn't go perfectly. we had a fan and light switch check out of the chat while they were here and there was just no way they had anything to do with it. but, they took care of it all the same. getting the hardware installed went smooth. the wiring for whatever reason became an issue. turned out something needed a firmware update and the wiring corrected thereafter. so, I had one cold morning before it was all perfect. I believe you see the best from a company when things don't go perfect. there were some hiccups but, all was handled splendidly.

Our undermounted bathroom sink had become detach (needed clamps and glue), so we needed a plumber…read more We live on Bainbridge Island, but financially are of the middle class. We had Hart Plumbing come out. (They are one of the few plumbers in Kitsap County willing to service Bainbridge Island, so we were excited about that.) Thomas Castrataro came out to assess the job. He could not tell us even a ball-park estimate of how much time the job would take. He also could not tell us how much money it would ultimately cost. Finally, with considerable prompting, he said it would cost us $1500. If the job was going to take a max of three hours (more than enough time), that meant Hart Plumbing's Thomas Castrataro was hoping to charge us $500 per hour. Thomas came back with a second offer of $1000, but the $500 difference between the two offers, coupled with the fact he was going to drive to Silverdale (rather than just go to ProBuild or Ace Hardware on Bainbridge), charging us for that time and 21 miles driving (each way) also shook our confidence in his professionalism and his acting in good faith. Despite the fact that I had articulated that it was the sink that needed fixing, and the fact that Hart had a very spacious van, Thomas didn't have the materials necessary to re-attach the sink. He said he might have to drive from Bainbridge Island to Silverdale, because he didn't have an account with ProBuild or Ace Hardware on Bainbridge. Does that sound professional? We appreciate that Hart comes out to Bainbridge Island. (Other plumbing companies do not.) But frankly, we felt completely used, and will never recommend Hart to anyone. We had to hand Thomas $75 (plus tax) for no service (Hart's policy), which was painful. We thought Hart would at least have sent a plumber reasonably priced and acting in good conscience. We know there are many affluent people who would be willing to pay $1000 or even $1500 for this 3-hour max job. But frankly, we felt taken advantage of, and will NEVER call Hart Plumbing again: This company is a big red flag.
