    Jamon queso empanada
    Krystina J.

We popped in on our way out of town on Sunday around 11:30am. We were able to snag the last free parking spot in the parking lot behind the building. There is a paid parking lot next door as well as street parking available. This place is a Halloween/horror movie-lover's dream! There was decor everywhere from custom sneakers to movie collectables. We didn't mind to stand in line because there was so much to look at. There were a few cafe tables inside the cafe as well as several tables outside. Most all tables were taken. We ordered the Pennywise, Never Sleep Again, & Jamon Queso empanada (the baristas recommendation). Our drinks came out pretty quickly. The Pennywise was good but I was jealous I didn't get the Never Sleep Again - it was so cinnamony and delicious. The empanada took about 15 minutes. But again, we were in no rush. While we were waiting on the empanda we were able to see what everyone else ordered before us. A lot of people ordered the blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. It smelled delicious. Our empanada was just okay flavor-wise. The inside of the empanada was not full by any means. Next trip I will try the blueberry bagel everyone was ordering and the Never Sleep Again. Definitely recommend adding this unique place to your list!

This place has been on my list to try and I finally made it! Horror fans will definitely appreciate all the details throughout this place! So many cool art pieces and replica props. This place is very busy both times I went but service was a fast as possible and kept moving. Just be prepared to wait a bit if you're going on Saturday or Sunday. Drinks were really good. I tried some of their seasonal drinks. Parking can be tricky in Fountain Square but we always find somewhere.

Cool horror movie themed cafe & coffeeshop in the Fountain Square neighborhood. It's a very small space and was quite packed on a Saturday afternoon. It's better to get your coffee to go here since seating is limited. There are a variety of drinks and I chose the Fear Street latte off the special June menu. Espresso with white chocolate and raspberry drizzle, this was smooth, sweet and delicious. The only downside to my experience was the wait time - it took about 20 minutes until I was able to order and there weren't that many people in front of me. Once my drink order was in, it was prepared in a timely manner, but I think they could benefit from two people at the order counter to help speed things up. Definitely a funky spot that fits right in with the FS neighborhood.

Cute horror movie themed coffee house. POC owned. Good service. I was mesmerized when I walked in and didn't realize you order to the left. The open counter in front to the right looked inviting. I was looking for the menu lol. Look up! There seemed to be more room in the back but I didn't go. There are murals all around the building so be sure to check them out. I ordered the dreamer which was really good. They have empanadas and other pastries also. It sits right at the corner and there's plenty of parking behind the building.

Staying at an Airbnb that is probably owned by the same people right behind the cafe so we went there for coffee yesterday morning. My friend got a hot coffee and I got an iced, so when he said their coffee was really good, I was thinking, well the coffee was good but with getting an iced I couldn't really tell how good. So I went back there today and got a hot coffee and he was right. The coffee was great, service is fast and friendly. The only downside is the location isn't great so you have to know how to park behind if you want to visit, or stay at their Airbnb. The theming is based on old 80s horror movies, so is their Airbnb. They also don't have many seats... Maybe 4 tables, so don't plan to go there for a seat, unless you are going during their non busy hours. I will be getting one last cover from there tomorrow which is it last day.

Love this place !! Super cute niche coffee spot that everyone could enjoy .. nice outdoor seating to chat with friends .. seating inside and a small area tucked away where someone could study .. Was welcomed with a smile and positive attitudes and even offered suggestions, service was top notch !! Would definitely recommend this as a must go to.. picture worthy

This was a small location with a few seats available as well as outdoor seating. The Halloween theme was amazing and very well decorated, it is fun to have a themed location in indianapolis. The menu was incredibly fun with amazing options. Everything had a Halloween name or theme. The Granny Smith apple caramel latte was to die for! The staff is so friendly and welcoming.

The service is quick but it also wasn't packed when we walked in. The place is designed with a bunch of horror features which makes it really cool to explore. They also have CBD which I would personally skip as you really can't tell any difference/affect from it......save yourself the coins. The drink I ordered Candyman was pretty good though. It had a brown sugar something in it that made it very flavorful but it was sweeter than I liked. They have all types of different coffees and based on the times they put out different season drinks you can partake in too! Anytime I'm in the fountain square area and have time to stop I always park and go inside. My only complaint.....the drinks don't come in a bigger size.

Horror is the theme of this coffee café. It has a Halloween vibe. Not scary but more like Casper the friendly ghost. I had the Carmella iced. Carmella is a salted carmel expresso latte with carmel drizzle. You can also add CBD to your drinks. This is a must visit in October. I bet the Halloween decorations are awesome.

My go-to coffee shop in the Fountain Square area. Fantastic coffee, smoothies, and horror decor all year round. My favorite holiday is Halloween and this store perfectly encapsulates the holiday and all things horror. The Carmilla hot to go is my go-to year round, but I have never had a bad drink here. Their smoothies are fantastic and I love that they have a vegan protein scoop option. Great service all the time. I went during the T-Swift weekend and I didn't have any issues. There was a line out the door and the small space was packed, but everything ran smoothly. They're a small team of baristas, but they do an amazing job. I am never the only customer in the store when I go-- they are popular for a reason! I still need to try their gluten free options for food! Gluten free avocado toast and gluten free cookies are available and they have several vegan options. It's nice to see a store have so many options for different dietary restrictions.

What a cool, funky, horror-movie inspired place to get coffee, smoothies and awesomely named drinks. Service was great. The descriptions for each drink was clear and descriptive. I can't wait to bring my sons here. Located in Fountain Square which is hip and cool in it of itself.

In terms of branding and decor, this place is impeccable. I'm not a horror movie buff but I was quite impressed by the aesthetics. I am disappointed to write this review because I've heard a lot of good things about this place. As a minor critique, they really only had 1-2 people making drinks, when they really could use a third. My major critique is that my coffee was just incredibly bland for what it's worth. I got the Ghostface iced coffee which was $7 for 16 oz. It's supposed to be a white chocolate raspberry mocha. I didn't taste any mocha flavor, nor much of a general coffee flavor. The raspberry syrup is just drizzled on the rim of the cup and settles down to the bottom of the drink pretty quickly. Because I detest syrups that do that (expect for chocolate), I did not finish the drink. And so, the only flavor I had for most of my drink was milk flavor. I'm sure that other drinks are better as this was a very popular place with all of their outdoor tables filled, and I'm sure the food is also good. But this coffee was just not it at all.

Front counter for ordering! Tons of specials

Amazing atmosphere and such a wonderful cafe theme idea! Too bad we don't have more cafes that depict a theme with the right atmosphere like the black house cafe! Amazing latte quality (and I'm a snob) and delicious espresso! I want to bring all of my friends here just to experience the atmosphere and decor! Great place to hang out and talk with friends! Workers were kind!

I recommend ordering ahead for a quick in/out and to make sure what you want is in stock. I've seen the line quite long, but you can get lucky with no line on a weekday. The inside is cute but there is no seating inside. You're going to get a little messy eating your cinnamon roll and want to be in the privacy of your own home anyway. My one very minor piece of feedback is I wish some rolls were sweet rolls (i.e. skip the cinnamon). Fruity Pebble is a little overpowered by cinnamon but I'd still get it. Cookie Monster is the #1 flavor for me and I can't wait to catch Pineapple Upsidedown in stock.

The pastries I bought are really temperature sensitive and need to be kept cold. Both had a cream - mousse inside. They wouldn't last long only a day or to the next. I loved the pecan item I ordered. The bitter taste of espresso paired with the sweet mascarpone cream filling reminded me of the holidays when I would watch my mom make tiramisu for our family. While a lot of people prefer a sweeter espresso, I thought this was perfect and very true to a traditional tiramisu taste The Pear Kouglof reminded me of a fresh yeast donut that's been tossed in sugar This was a very kid-friendly pastry in taste and while I wasn't too blown away by it, it did make me wonder if I would have preferred it with a stronger, more potent, fruit. The Cherry Basque Cheesecake -- this pastry was the house favorite. The texture of this cheesecake was creamy, but somehow still spongey.. cakey, but more like pudding. Mix that with the juiciest sour cherries and the crunch of a biscoff crust.. mind blown was an understatement. We're looking forward to what Beurre Sec has planned for their next pop-up

Soup was OK, sandwiches were OK. I got a side of chips (not made in-house) for $3. My daughter was upset when we arrived bc she was napping in the car and she proceeded to cry for about the first 10 minutes so, I walked around with her to calm her before I sat down since it's so cramped to try not to disturb everyone else. She was not happy the entire time so we were trying to calm her and feed her. Cake slices and cheesecake are $17-20 each. They're large but other reviews say dry and taste old. That's pricey. We skipped dessert at those prices based on the quality of the rest of our meal... I got an $8 peppermint mocha which was good but, served in the smallest teacup imaginable. It's extremely small inside. Like, uncomfortable. Granted, I had a lot of items with my baby and her and we were seated at a table for two with her in my lap but it was close quarters and the waitresses were squeezing between the chairs to walk around. They have about 6 tables inside with a small event private room in back. Our waitress was kind but, the manager or owner was off-putting. She went to every single table seated except ours to ask how their meal was and experience and, when time to pay, she wanted to personally ring me up to ensure we left in a hurry. I get it, some places are not meant for babies, but, since it's billed specifically to kids, I thought this was. Nope, I was wrong. (She's 19 months - so, too young for this bougie of an establishment clearly) I would not come back at all unless it was for my, older daughter to have a birthday cake experience and get a couple cute pics. As far as instagram-worthy goes, they know what they're doing. As far as quality of food. It's like a 2.5 stars. It was actual graham cracker and marshmallow that they took into the back to use a torch on and give that extra-smokey, warm gooey feel to it. It did take awhile to get our milkshakes. One older woman was working her butt off but clearly getting frustrated at the mounting line and the fact that things kept falling. (Good to see: if something fell on the floor, she took it into the back to, presumably, toss it into the cleaning area) At one point, she asked for someone in the back to come help her, but that young teen seemed to be doing the bare minimum. I'm not sure if it's because they're untrained or not allowed to operate some of the machinery, but while this woman is frantically trying to keep up with things, he'd do what he was told to do, relatively slowly, and then stand around and wait for a new command. It was frustrating ME to watch. I can't imagine how that feels as a co-worker. All-in-all, we had about a 15-20 minute to receive our milkshakes. Definitely worth it in the end, but it's just something to note before popping in. I'd say it was definitely worth it for the unique flavor and quality when it was all done. The place looks a little "hole in the wall" with a few tables and chairs in an older building with the single, for-customers restroom in it. If you like the older, diner-esque style building that's been around for a long time, it has that vibe. Both of our milkshakes included a to-go lid right on them that we could snap on. Unlike some "crazy milkshake" establishments, the lids could actually go on both of the milkshakes after a few sips. The toppings were large but not insurmountable.

Yelp recently hosted an event here, but sadly, I was not on the guest list. I was, however, the…read moreesteemed guest of my husband! Lol. We arrived and I was immediately impressed, visually, by the beautiful atmosphere that they've curated. Through the glass garage door storefront, you are greeted by interesting light fixtures, eye- catching red chairs, large booths, rotating digital images of the delectable chocolate offerings, and flowing fountains of white, milk and dark chocolate. We entered and the smell of sweet confections filled the air. I left my husband at the counter to order and grabbed a table for us in the corner nearest to the garage door. We later discussed how, during the Summer, it will be so nice if/when they open that door up to the outside air. You order at the counter, and then they bring it out to your table. My husband returned with a big glass bottle of cold water (and some of the flimsiest plastic cups that I've ever held). The water was a nice, and necessary, touch. The dishes are rich! They are rich in the best way possible, though. The event provided a complimentary crepe with your choice of fruit, and a cookie skillet with ice cream. My husband couldn't decide on which fruit(s) to get, so the employee just told him that they'd hook it up for us. The crepe came out, and it was so beautiful...it was almost too pretty to eat! They provided us with an array of fruit to accompany it; bananas, strawberries, pineapples, and kiwi. The addition of the fruit really helped to cut through the richness of the chocolate. The crepe was the perfect, delicate vehicle for all of it! I probably ate about a 1/3 of it, and tried so save room for the cookie. I'm not a real "sweets" eater, but everything here just looks so good! The cookie skillet came out warm, gooey, and with its own generous drizzling of chocolate under a scoop of ice cream (& whipped cream if my memory serves me correctly). The cookie by itself was really delicious. In the future, I will omit the addition of chocolate sauce. It really didn't need it. I look forward to another fun dessert date with my hubby at this really SWEET lounge! P.S. All of the portion sizes that I saw were shareable. Bae and I could've shared either one of those desserts and been good. I also saw a woman sharing a sweet treat with her two children, and several other patrons were sharing. We all know that sharing means caring!
