I like the Thai Bloom food cart. It includes big portions so I know I'll have leftovers. I usually order the Pad Thai (4 stars) with chicken, which has been consistently good each time. I'm not sure if I would order the Drunken Noodles (3 stars) with chicken again. It was as spicy as I expected, but I just preferred the flavors of the Pad Thai more. I usually get the Spring Rolls (3 stars) as the side, but it sometimes can be too greasy. I haven't been to restaurant yet, and I would like to try other items on the menu. It seems to be one of the more popular food carts with people in line or waiting for their order. There may be a little wait for your hot order to be fulfilled with 4 star service. read more

Tl;dr: Good food cart in a nice cart pod. Panang curry was tasty! Visited this food cart pod for the first time this weekend! Very fun area that's nice and open. Lots of people on tables and hanging around on the picnic turf which was a welcomed sight to see after a very anti-social 2020. This food cart pod has a very good variety of food carts including a nice built-in patio with beers on tap. But this is not a review of the food cart pod! This is for Thai Bloom, probably the first cart you will see if you enter on the west entrance. The line for this food cart was about 4 people deep by the time we got there. Per good food cart shopping behavior, we perused the different carts to see what would satisfy our huungry lunch stomachs. There was another thai food cart in the complex that I have ordered from before via food delivery app a few days ago so I did not want to go there. Thai sounded the best so we decided on Thai Bloom. We ordered the panang chicken curry. The meal came with a hearty serving of white rice next to the curry. If you're like me and don't mind the rice touching the curry when served then you'll be fine. If you're picky about mixing the curry and rice (or food touching in general) you may have a hard time. In the top left compartment came a halved spring roll that was packed with filling. The sauce in the next compartment was a sweet and mildly thick sauce that coated the fried roll and balanced the slightly bitter greens inside. The curry was not spicy but it came out piping hot so you know your boy burned his tongue nicely. Overall, I was happy. The taste of the food was nice, but I felt like the food at their brick and mortar (not far up Cedar Hills!) restaurant was a tad bit more flavorful. Presentation was as you would expect from a food truck, but I think they should have separated the curry from the rice for the more picky individuals. read more

Being a fan of the BG Food Cartel, I decided to try Thai Bloom yesterday evening. There was a line which I generally take as a good sign. Not so much last night as it took a mind-numbing 35 minutes for my order to come out. However, I was greeted by a very pleasant young woman and the food was good. I had the Pad Thai with shrimp, an additional side of Pot Stickers and a Thai Iced Tea. I would have preferred the shrimp to have had the tails removed (next time I'll ask), and I thought the Pot Stickers were on the small side and with a slightly overdone shell. The iced tea was pretty good. Unfortunately they are one of the only carts not setup for Apple Pay. I would also think a comment to the customers at the time of order warning them about the likely extended wait would have been considerate and appropriate. After standing there while others placed orders and talking with two customers also in queue, no one was being told to expect more than a nominal wait. I was told to come back "in about 15 minutes". Except for the unexpected wait time I was pleased overall. The food was tasty, the serving sizes were generous, and the interaction was friendly and pleasant. Ordered through their new app for the nice free Thai tea offer! The app was pretty easy to use and it didn't take long to order. I've been to their location just a few blocks down off of Cedar Hills and can say I definitely prefer it over its cart here. I ordered Pad see ew and the texture of the rice noodles was pretty gummy and too sticky. The flavor was still good though, and the portion of noodles and the potstickers was great for the price. I don't think I'd eat at this specific cart again just for the food, but the service was good and the whole food cart pod is a fun hangout spot with lots of tasty options. read more

They say the best form of advertising is through word of mouth and boy is it true in this case. A friend had posted and raved about their crispy pork dish on their Instagram story and just by seeing that post it made me drive all the way to beaverton (I live in SE Portland) to come try it for myself and I was not disappointed at all. It had the perfect amount of crunch and paired with the sticky rice it was just a perfect meal on a nice and sunny spring day. The only issue I had was the sauce it came with, I think it was a little too sweet for my liking. The only suggestion I have is to have 2 sauce dip options, one sweet and one spicy. We had big expectations from the cart assuming that food will be similar to Thai bloom restaurant. Firstly they got our order wrong. And then the spicy level, I asked for level 2.5 out of 5, but I got a spicy level of 6, super spicy. How can they mess up a Thai fried rice with only tofu. Disappointing. Our attendant was Tommy. I feel the spicy level was intentional as we asked them to correct our order. This is the second time I've eaten here and the second time I immediately regretted it. I tried the Penang curry previously, the pad see ew this time. They both tasted the same, like old cooking oil and not much else, no seasoning, no spices. The carrots were still cold in the pad see ew. The spring roll was slightly better this time, last time it was soggy and tasted like said old cooking oil. This trip I finished the spring rolls but threw out the rest. The few bites I took landed like a bland, slimy, grease ball in my stomach. The Thai tea was decent at least. The cart closed immediately after I got my order so taking it back wasn't even an option. Service on the other hand is just painful... between my last visit, which was a different person than today, but this visit the little blondie working the stand was just irritating to deal with. Not very friendly at all, acted like me asking for my tea before my food was an inconvenience and I really dislike that unwelcoming type of service. And on top of it we were sitting at the table in the shade right next to the cart on a hotter day, and they have some dude cleaning off the outside of the cart, and scrubbing dirt and grime off the cart including right above us - instead of waiting he mentioned how we need to please watch our food(granted he tried to be nice but you could tell he just wasn't all there in the head so he was clueless so just maybe wait instead of continuing to scrub grime right above us/our food) ... and the guy working on their cart could tell we were bothered and just continued to work and then the hood exhaust looking piece started wobbling and mid dinner we both gathered our food and moved to the beer deck area, and it was just all around a really negative experience. I had planned on leaving a negative review based on the fact we were told that our Chicken Pad Thai would be up in 10 to 15 minutes and it actually took 37 minutes and by the time we returned to the table my wife and daughter had finished. But the actual reason I am now leaving the review is that it was the greasiest Pad Thai I've ever had in my life. It's been 45 minutes since I finished what I could stand to eat and I still have a film of grease on the roof of my mouth and tongue. I don't know if this was because our ticket got somehow put at the end of the orders and once they realized it they rushed and it just wasn't prepared right, but it was truly one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. I've eaten at the restaurant many times and have always enjoyed it. I never like to leave a bad review but unfortunately my experience forced me to do so. There are many options in the food pod (even another Thai cart) so I don't see myself ever trying this place again. read more

Great thai food and the food cart atmosphere is such a fun place to visit when the weather is nice out (which is only like 3 months out of the year in Portland so I'm curious to see how these food carts do in the fall/winter months). I'm a huge pad thai fan so that's what I order whenever I get thai food. The pad thai at the Thai Bloom food cart is much better than the pad thai from the other thai food cart in the area (E-San Thai Cuisine) for the same price. I love that you get to pick a side to go with your noodles, I like the potstickers. The only reason that I rate this place 4/5 stars is because of the poor customer service. Both times I have come here I am not greeted with friendliness at all and I feel like a burden standing at the window of the cart waiting for the employee to even make eye contact with me so I can order.
