I stopped by Black Pearl in Windermere Edmonton after hearing they opened a location there. Similar to the downtown one, the must try is their Buck a Shuck. Their other food is decent but pricey. I'd give their oyster special 8.5/10.

Came to visit family and decided to check out their Windemere location for dinner. Ambiance and decor is nice and a little more upscale. Servers were nice and friendly. We decided to order a caesar to start followed by their PEI organic blue mussels in tomato sauce and pearl pescatore in tomato sauce. Quality and quantity was ok but bit on the pricier side for what you get as I'm comparing it to Vancouver. Overall not bad and would recommend to others to try them out.

$79 King crab legs with garlic butter. 1/2 a pound of shriveled up meat. Should be ashamed.

Food is a big fat 1 out of 10. Service and ambiance 8 of out 10. Let's begin with the Lobster stuffed mushrooms. We literally though we were getting pranked. There wasn't one speck of lobster, the mushrooms were flat with cheese on them. 0 out of 10. Next was the Lobster ravioli with Gorgonzola cheese sauce. 2 out of 10. The pasta was decent but once again $35 for ravioli you would expect actual Lobster in them and not a purée of mystery filling and the sauce was a bland white sauce with zero Gorgonzola flavour. Next up the Captains dream 4 out of ten. Lacked any flavour. Had the same white sauce as the ravioli. One shrimp on the entire plate. Adding a 1/2 lbs of King crab with garlic butter. Well 1 out 10 at best. As the menu reads garlic butter, nope. You get a couple parts of a leg with them drowning in the same generic white sauce. How are you to de-shell the meat trying to hold on to hard shell crab legs. Oh wait ! The crab shell was soft and the tools they gave you were useless. Overcooked and a tiny amount of crab for $79!!! The drinks and the service was excellent. Even the waiter notice we were not impressed. So he took some of the drinks off the bill. $200 and a $40 tip. This place was an absolute ripoff. We will never go back.

Fantastic service, our server is so accommodating and has a very good attitude towards the customer. If you are craving for oysters this is the place, during happy hour from 4-6 you can get $1 per oyster and the max is 12 pieces per person. The other entries are awesome. We ordered lobster surf and turf mac n cheese and the captain's dream and they are very good, and my daughter ordered the fish and chips and she really liked it. For sure our family will be back to this place.

First visit to the Black Pearl. Excellent seafood served creatively. The prices are higher than most but the quality and freshness of the seafood is well worth it for my taste. It was packed when we were there but the service was excellent so there were no gaps between the courses. Definitely will go back again to try some of the other dishes.

Service was good. Ambiance was nice. Food was bland and because of that, was overpriced. I expected better from a seafood restaurant.

We were pleasantly surprised as the haddock was tender and flaky, and the batter was crispy and flavorful. The thick cut fries were definitely a wonderful pairing. Lots of lemon wedges and tartar sauce were provided as well as different types of vinegar, including my favourite malt vinegar. Service was great, as soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and asked if it was our first time there. Special attention was given, even though it was extremely busy. This place was bustling as we went on a Saturday around 6:30 PM and had to wait for a table. People seemed happy and the fish and chips just kept flying out the kitchen. The atmosphere was interesting to look at while waiting for your food. There were British style telephone booths everywhere and lots of UK/London style pictures and decor that added to the experience. I would definitely recommend this place!

Fish was pretty greasy. Batter was crispy but gets soggy quickly. Fish itself was good. Fries were more like potato wedges, very fat fries. Would have like them more cooked and more salt. Sooooo many fries. I would highly recommend get the code combo for 2 people and just order additional fish. I tried the side of beans - was good. Side of coleslaw was also good, very crisp. Side of 1 bun was soft and good. Overall not my favorite fish and chips place but that's just my preference.

This was my first visit to this Atlas Steak + fish location, but I've to the location in Kamloops…read morebefore, and that was a good experience. This visit was not. It was Mother's Day, but we had a reservation for an early dinner. We arrived on time, but despite having a reservation, we still had to 5-10 min for a table to be cleared and ready. From what I could tell, the restaurant was only half full, but not fully staffed. Much like the location in Kamloops, this look like a high-end steakhouse. The kids were impressed with mist covered entrance. Once seated we got our menus. It took a while for our server to come by, but as mentioned, they looked understaffed. The first thing she asked is if we want sparkling or still water. We chose still, only realizing later it was Evian water, not tap water. This was a common practice in fine dining restaurants decades ago, but I think the industry realized that it made feel customers cheated and so I haven't seen this for awhile. I feel it's the roughly the equivalent of being asked to tip for everything now - customers are feeling bad being forced to say no, and feels like a poor business practice. After taking our orders, we were served the complimentary bread. It looked good, but the moment I started to tear it apart, I could immediately tell it was not fresh. The outside was a hard dried-out shell, and the inside was barely warm - like it was sitting under a hot lamp for too long. The kids at the table also mentioned that it's not as good as they remember. We mentioned it to the server, and she thanked us for the feedback. I tried the following: - Prime Rib - Mixed review. The prime rib itself was good. I asked for medium rare, and that's exactly what I got. But It wasn't freshly carved, so it was luke-warm at best. Yorkshire pudding was hard and cold. The potato and kale/spinach pure were fine. The red wine jus had completely congealed. I forgot what it was, so when the plate was placed in front of me, it look like BBQ sauce, and not red wine jus. - New York Striploin - Not good. We asked for medium rare. It was clearly medium - and ended up dried out. I informed the server, and she was willing to replace, but I also encourage my family not to waste food, so we kept it, even if not at it's best. - Truffle & Parmesan Fries - Good. Very large portion size, so couldn't finish it. Service was spotty. Server was nice enough, but just didn't really have the tools or energy to help us with our problems. When we complained about the striploin, she did offer free dessert, but it was a big steak, and we were too full to take it. So what does that mean? I had to pay for still water, cold bread, cold prime rib, overcooked sirloin - at full price. I admit that the overcooked sirloin could have been fixed with a replacement and/or free dessert, but I don't think it would've made up for the entire visit. A place like Atlas aims to provide an ultimate dining experience, and once a mistake is made, it's an uphill battle to recover, and it certainly didn't here. I would have doubts coming back to this location, and possibly other locations too.

It comes with - Salad, Hawawshi (flatbread filled with meat), kushari (Egypt's national dish consisting of lentils and macaroni), baba Ganooj, Musakka as well as a bunch of skewers. However it was all good except the lamb shank was on the dry side which was disappointing. I really enjoyed the salad and the baba ganooj. My husband enjoyed the meat dishes. Soup is better hot.. Next bite we guessed was a tuna tartar with caviar on top. Maybe it had tuna? We could not tell. This was an addition to the menu.. The ordered was a scallop crudo ... please Google scallop crudo and let your chef read it. 2 slices of raw jalepeno that overpowers a delicate scallop .... Sad.. You can't taste the scallop when your mouth burns from a jalepeno. These were HOT jalapeño's ... I candy, pickle and cook with peppers all the time.. you can have hot and mild... TASTE THEM... I've had and made scallop crudo with Thai chile infused oil but balanced with an acid vs tossing a raw thick jalepeno slice on scallops .. OMG the poor halibut that gave its life for the entree ... Halibut wrapped in prosciutto... the halibut was as dry as wood chips .. this happens when the cook was trying to crisp the prosciutto? Perhaps try cooking the halibut so it's moist and flaky.. a nice butter lime or dill sauce and then some fried and crumbled prosciutto on top. Wrapping the fish and cooking until a dry flavorless piece of bark is a waste. We are guessing the accompaniment was an attempt at risotto? Peas were crunchy, and the rice was a sticky mess.. how that was allowed out of the kitchen is ridiculous 2 of us had this halibut disaster and the others had the wagu upgrade sirloin ... they said sirloin was average at best.
