We had great service even after I responded to our server that they had boring drinks ‍ We joked and enjoyed the prime rib as well as a steak and lobster dinner. They did not disappoint. You can't go wrong! All locations are good and the quality and service is consistent. I love this location because it's closer to me and a newer location. It has a more modern design and the combination of the design and the lighting makes it more cozy. The staff has been always great and helpful which is one of the items that is very consistent at all locations. The food and drinks are also great and we always look forward to the seasonal items which happened to be lobster this time. Came here as we had giftcards. 70% full Friday at 6PM. Little fancier place - nice for a fancy date or special occasion. Service was great, my water never went empty! Calamari was 10/10 but it also had lots of peppers and jalapenos which I do not like (but easy to avoid!). Tried the Filet Mignon with baked potato: steak was 10/10, cooked perfectly, great taste and texture. Baked potato was 9/10, didn't like the small side of ?sour cream/butter. This location is fairly new in the Windermere neighbourhood and we decided to try it out although it was a bit of a drive from our home. We arrived around 8 p.m. on a Friday evening as we didn't want to go when it would be too crowded due to the pandemic. The tables were spaced far apart and every second booth was blocked off. We were seated right by the fireplace so it was nice and warm on a fall evening. The restaurant was very clean and beautiful, the ambiance perfect. Our family wanted to enjoy a nice dinner out after being cooped up due to restrictions. The food here totally satisfied our appetites! We started with the mushrooms Neptune, they were so delicious! The buns were also fresh and warm. We all ordered steak, why order anything other protein when you are at the Keg?? The top sirloin was cooked to perfection, I like it medium. The striploin was tender and juicy made medium rare. The ribeye was rare and very flavourful. The twice baked potato is the best, creamy deliciousness! Excellent service and food! We can't wait to go back for another nice meal once the restrictions are lifted due to Covid-19. read more

If you're looking for classic Keg deliciousness, it's gone, or at least not at this location. This used to be our birthday spot. Not anymore. First off the iced tea we ordered was very, very, very sweet, terrible. I ordered the peppercorn New York, they used to be so good. The sauce is now obviously out of a bucket now, I had a huge pat of frozen butter in the middle of my baked potatoe, and the "seasonal" veggies were meh. Definitely not worth the $450. Came here the place was very clean, first reservation on a Monday at 4pm at the patio so it was pretty quiet by the time we left there was 6 tables filled up approx 4 meters away. All staff had masks on. The New York Peppercorn Steak was great but the chicken and ribs was not Usually this dish does taste good. read more

Going to The Keg is always a treat for us as we don't get a chance to do it often. This was the first time we attended the newer Windermere location and it was our 4th anniversary. They did not disappoint! Right from the get go Burton took excellent care of us as he assured us he would. We got the Brie as an appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. The homemade bread to accompany the meal was light, fluffy, and warm. Just amazing. Once the main course arrived though - that was game over. I had asked for the filet mignon and Meghan ordered the seafood sirloin. Both were tender and perfectly done. You can see an inside look at my mignon in my pictures. Let me start by saying The Keg is a place to go for steak but probably not for other proteins. Three of us ordered a prime rib and two items from the new casual menu, crab cakes and hot butter shrimp. The prime rib was excellent. It was tender, juicy and temperature was right on. The horseradish that came with it had an oomph. The hot butter shrimp on the other hand was overly salted even the quinoa that came the shrimp was slightly over seasoned. If the seasoning level was correct, it could have been a very good dish. The crab cakes in The Keg were full of crab meat. The cakes did not have enough binder and cut like a pile of crab meat shaped into hockey puck. The crab cakes did not really have much of crab taste. Service was excellent, our server was attentive. He came around several times to check on us. We went on a Tuesday evening and the wait was over 20 min because we had no reservation. We went to sit in the bar and the whole time we were there, the restaurant was never full. read more

The Keg is top notch. For sides we had the escargot along with the bread and butter. My friend and I each got 14 oz prime ribs. Amazing prime rib and my first experience with Alberta beef. Tender, juicy, and flavorful. The garlic mash and fried onion frizzle sides complimented the meal perfectly and I washed it all down with a Granville. The beer had a chocolate taste and was delicious on a -30° C day. There was plenty of parking and the customer service was great and very accommodating. read more

As far as steakhouses go, I will always put the Keg among the top (certainly top chain). But our experience at the Windermere location just after Christmas was exceptional. Things got off to a shaky start when we didn't see our server (or anyone else) for about 15 minutes after being seated. Eventually, I went and got the host who seated us, who was clearly rather shocked. It took about another 5 minutes before our waiter, Dexter, arrived and he was rather bashfully sorry. He didn't kiss up (which, perhaps I was thinking was appropriate) but minutes later the manager came to talk to us and apologize as well. She definitely set things right for us, which completely reversed our experience and we never had any cause for looking back. Between Dexter and the manager (I never did catch her name), they made for a delightful evening every bit as good as I've come to expect from the Keg. Thank-you! read more

Reservations were made. Seated immediately upon arrival after vaccination verification. Our server Kara provided us with menus and told us the specials of the day then took our drink orders. My wife had water and I ordered the Keg size Margarita. Drinks were delivered in 5 minutes which was good considering the restaurant was full. My drink was not Keg size (2 oz pour of tequila and it also lacked Cointreau. We placed our mains order and they arrived about 20 minutes later very good timing. My wife ordered the 7 oz filet and I had the 12 oz. baseball top sirloin. Both were medium rare as requested. I cut a few pieces and the sinew was throughout the steak which made it very chewy. Kara checked in on us and my wife's steak was perfect and I explained the sinew problem. 3 minutes later the manager came to our table and I explained the sinew problem and showed him multiple examples. He apologized and said my steak would be comped. I thanked him. I could not finish my steak and left a good portion on the plate. The glass of red wine I had was ice cold not room temp! Kara was a gem with her service and her promise to talk to the manager about my steak. Thanks to the manager for comping my steak but I'd rather have an edible steak without having to wear out my jaws. read more

My family and I went to the Windermere location in Edmonton last night (October 22). Dinner was a disaster... but the staff at The Keg were beyond amazing! I will always come back to this location. I will preface this story with the fact that I have an anaphylaxis allergy to onions. My Mum's and my daughter's meals were perfect (filet well-done, and chicken fingers respectively) Both my steak and my husband's steak were overcooked (we both ordered medium-rare and got medium-well). I had filet, so it was still tasty (I was so hungry that I could cry) and kept mine; my husband sent his rib-eye back. His came out again quickly... and blue rare. I ordered vegetables with my meal. It was a medley of red & yellow peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, asparagus and mushrooms. I thought I could taste a hint of onion on the zucchini. I pushed it aside, because my throat was fine. My nose was very itchy and my husband and Mum noticed that I had broken out into an intense red rash on my neck and chest. I didn't want to say anything, but my husband insisted. We weren't mad, because there was no error with the chefs - they did their due-diligence in preparing my meal. It's likely that a knife or cutting board was not properly cleaned in between cutting of different vegetables during prep. My reaction was minor, because of minor cross-contamination. I only needed to chew some Benadryl and sleep it off. The Kitchen Manager, Simone, came out and spoke at length with us. She was so sweet and kind. Our waiter, Daniel was a gem. I can't say enough about these two. They made an otherwise unpleasant experience into a very positive one. I've never encountered this kind of care and concern with any other restaurant. Top marks in life and customer service for Daniel and Simone. They gave us an unprecedented discount! It was completely unexpected and unnecessary, but very appreciated. We in turn gave them a ridiculous tip. Like I said, we will always return to this location. The staff are beyond top tier! read more

I have always had a preconceived notion in regards to chain restaurants. Specifically, the quintessential steak dinner has become somewhat devalued by the assembly line, automated, and fast food presentation of the chain restaurant. I had this notion when taking my mom out for her birthday. However to my surprise, my experience at this new restaurant was far beyond my expectations. Our server was above and beyond exceptional in his service, conduct, and attentiveness. I ordered the 14 ounce prime rib with big potato side and crispy onions. My wife ordered steak and lobster. Surprisingly, my brother ordered a burger and fries which I felt it was a disrespect to a steakhouse, but we were reassured that the burgers are amazing here. Given that I was famished, my 14 ounce prime rib totally hit the spot. My brother confirmed that his burger was outstanding. Food aside, one of the things I have to stress is that the service was above and beyond. There were some missteps in regards to the doneness of the steak and the lobster not being served with the steak. The amazing part was the level of professionalism and courtesy demonstrated. Although we weren't expecting it, but they covered the lobster tails as a part of their error. Although this is a new location for the keg, I hope the level of service and quality does not change. read more

Thought we would check out this new Keg located in SW Edmonton. I've never been disappointed with the food at the Keg and this new Keg kept the streak going. We had the Sirloin Oscar and the Prime Rib. Delicious and served as we requested. The wine list also had good selection. Service was excellent. Ample parking and reservations were a cinch. I am a regular diner at The Keg. The new one in Windermere has amazing atmosphere, a modern look (as expected for a brand new restaurant), really great service from good people. That all said, my first (and perhaps my last) meal was lackluster to say the least. Orders mid rare New York steak, came out just about well done. Had to send it back. The next one came out blue rare (cold in the middle and raw). Sent it back. They just cooked this steak more, but at least was mid rare as ordered. Not sure why they wouldn't have a fired a new one, but felt like they cheaper out on me. In the end, the other people I was with finished their meals far before I got mine, which made for some awkwardness. They didn't charge me for my meal, and lots of apologies from server and manager, but just wasn't feeling it. Disappointed. read more

I always enjoy my time at the Keg Steakhouse in Windermere. This is my fourth visit to this particular location. Usually there isn't too long of a wait and there is always seating the bar area while waiting for dining room seating. I am always greeted immediately upon entering with the servers being friendly and accommodating. The restaurant and washrooms are always tidy and clean. On this particular visit, my colleague's meal of halibut was undercooked. The kitchen along with their managers came out to apologize and allowed her to substitute her meal without question. Management acted appropriately and didn't charge her for her meal. No restaurant is perfect as everyone makes mistakes but kudos for dealing with the situation well and comping the meal with having to be asked! Our server was also very patient with our group indecisiveness so I would like to highlight the great customer service. My meal was delicious and I will definitely be returning. read more

The Keg has excellent food. We have been to the Sherwood Park location several times and my only complaint is that they do not give out vegetables with the meals we have had. On New Year's Eve my husband ordered a $37 prime rib and he received a baked potato with the prime rib and a few shredded deep fried onions on the side. How can you pay that price and have NO green or real vegetables with your meal. Come on for what the keg charges for steaks they need to give people vegetables with their orders. We started going to the new Currents location. Great atmosphere and the acoustics allow you to have an enjoyable conversation. The staff "fantastic". In the last five weeks we have been there nine times. Tonight as well as last Friday we met with friends in the lounge. Last week our group ended up sitting next to a six year olds birthday party. Tonight we sat amongst three tables in the lounge with kids three to six years old. In all cases the kids were quiet and well behaved. Tonight some of our Friday night group have opted to meet else where because of the kids issue. They make a good point, they are willing to eat their dinner in the lounge rather than the comfort of the dinning room to avoid being around kids. read more

I dont use yelp, I downloaded it because he was sooo good and he deserved the review we promised, genuinely funny guy, had me in tears laughing, and assisted us in playing a harmless prank on one of the other servers that was a friend of a friend (Michael). Nolan was exceptional however I noticed that all the servers got along really well, seems like a very easy-going uplifting place to work, the whole experience made me leave longing for a job at this location. The Keg has always been my favorite restaurant. Sadly the windermere location has disappointed me every time I have been there. On 3 different occasions I left hungry because my medium well steak was served rare. Even after sending it back it is always returned the same. Granted the manager has always refunded the steak portion of the meal and has agreed each time that my steak should not have a pool of blood in it, it has still has ruined many special occasion meals since everyone else had finished eating and I sat with a raw steak bleeding all over my mashed potatoes. This is the ONLY location that I have ever had problems with It's like they really dont care about the quality of the food they serve. Even the mini buns that come with mushroom neptune were hard dry and stale. I will drive the extra mile and go to any other location then give them another chance. 3 strikes you are out. I've never really been a fan of The Keg but my sister loves going there for her birthday every year. This time we tried the new location in Windermere, it had a modern look with ample parking. The service was impeccable, the 2 servers we had were on the ball, very polite, and accommodating! As for the food, I wasn't very impressed with my dinner but the appetizer was great! We had the Crispy Fried Cauliflower, it wasn't too greasy, just the right amount of oil and the taste was fantastic! My Keg Burger was not great, it had too many toppings which made the whole burger very slippery and not a joy to eat. The Slaw and Fries that accompanied the burger were great though. My son had the Prime Rib Sliders, which he thoroughly enjoyed. A couple of friends ordered steak but they weren't cooked to their specifications, which is strange for a steakhouse. They didn't complain and just finished it. For dessert they brought in the complimentary coffee cake, that was amazing! We also brought our own ice cream cake, which they kept in the freezer for us till it was time to eat. There was half leftover so we left that for the staff to enjoy, they really appreciated that. All in all the service and decor were fantastic but the food wasn't really worth it. read more

This was our first time back to The Keg since COVID hit and we were so excited to go back. However, that excitement was cut short by some of the worst service we have ever endured. Unsure of the servers name as we did not keep the bill and were eager to leave, we were sitting on the patio in the back section, near the service entrance by the bar. The server was blonde wearing a pink scrunchie. She was stand offish and was not welcoming at all. She assumed we were not eating dinner and only went for an appetizer and was quick to ask if she could get us anything else (after we had been there for 10 minutes). She did not offer bread until after the appetizer and we had to ask for it otherwise we likely would not have received any. The food was mediocre at best, we had to send our calamari back as it was hard and cold, we received a new order, fresh but they were rubber bands. Our meals were half decent, scallops were cold and hard but at that point we were just hungry and wanted to eat. Drink refills were never offered until the meals were completed and we could not ask for any as the server was no where to be found. This server did the absolute bare minimum to make our experience even half decent and we are very reluctant to go back. This was at 5:45-7:15pm on Monday July 20. Very disappointing. read more

We are regular Keg customers but have now had two bad experiences at the Windemere Keg. We dined there this evening and it took 30 minutes for the bread to arrive at our table. Our waiter got our order wrong. We order Keg Classics but the salads never arrived and there were no mushrooms which are always included. The waiter seemed to want to debate whether the mushrooms were included or not. Since we order the same thing every time we go we were certain that they are included. He sent the manager over to our table who did manage to get us mushrooms. Not impressed with this particular franchise and we will never dine there again. The West End Keg on 170 Street is a much better place to dine. read more

I have been enjoying meeting friends at this new location of the Keg. Service has always been good but as I always meet friends in the lounge/bar I have a concern. I go to the lounge as my kids are grown and want to have an atmosphere where it is only adults. Eating here tonight for my birthday I was surrounded by tables with kids. Thankfully they were teenagers but I am disappointed that that they have a policy that allows kids in the bar. Why is that? I go to a lounge/bar so I have an adult experience - And why would parents want their kids to be in a lounge/bar for dinner - Guess I have to re-think my choices!!! read more
