I have been on a panini kick these days and always looking to try them at different restaurants. Today I discovered the Black Rabbit Cafe which is located inside a liquor store. For a few minutes I thought I'm waiting in line but then I realized there's a little touch screen that says in big letters "order here" so I immediately walked up to place my order when I noticed! Ordering is easy and it prints a receipt, but you have to take the receipt to the liquor store register to pay and if you chose tip he gives you cash to take back to the jar at the café area. I ordered the Black Rabbit panini which was nice and piping hot and with everything on it. The sandwich is delicious and fulfilling! I also orderd the Green Glory juice which is refreshing and healthy. My food was ready so fast which I took to go and ate it when I arrived to my final destination, my sandwich was still hot when I ate it and I am a happy girl! They also have a delicious looking breakfast menu that I will try next time! read more

I love this place. The staff is so friendly, and I've never had any order issues. I always get the Black Rabbit Panini and it's so good. Theyre quick and not a bad price. I was really disappointed with my order today. I ordered the caprese for pick up and they gave me the tinniest sandwich. They put such little cheese literally all I had was bread, thinnest piece of cheese and soggy half a tomato slice with very soggy arugula. Won't be back! read more

Knocked out another Adjective Animal visit accompanied by my sweet Mama. The Black Rabbit was kind of a trip. It's tiny and there's no chairs. No ambiance at all. But it sure was nice to get out of the heat. The sandwiches were delicious. My pesto chicken was tasty but Mom may have made the better call with her not-originally-bacony-but-now-bacon-packed-baconrific sandwich. We found one single table for two outside the laundromat and enjoyed our sandwiches and the delicious lemonade together there. My experience was extremely disappointing. I don't understand why this place has 4.7?! The sandwich was almost inedible -- the bread was over-toasted and greasy, as if it had been soaked in oil. The filling was just as bad: ripe avocado, a fake-tasting tomato, chicken breast, cheese, and mayonnaise that made the whole thing heavy, bland, and unpleasant. The coffee was so bad. The cup was overfilled and way too hot, and when the lid slipped off I ended up burning my hand. They also added cinnamon for some reason -- something I absolutely hate -- and the coffee itself tasted awful: overly sweet and completely unbalanced. Definitely not a place I'd ever return to and won't recommend it to anyone! read more

Hidden Gem! *No seating, take out only Wanted to grab a quick bite to catch up with a friend. We didn't realize that they were inside of a general market but that's fine because we ended up taking it to a park. Lots of parking in the lot and conviently located as we grabbed some chips and drinks from the market as well. You order your food on an Ipad kiosk, super user friendly. Then you pay at the front counter of the market. Food came out in 10 minutes or so, not bad considering there were a few more people in line before us. They put it in a cute box with my name on it. The turkey pesto panini was honestly one of the best I have had! It was juicy on the inside and the bread was warm and toasty. Highly recommend for a quick to go bite! Overall 4/5 stars! This place is fantastic!!!!! Tiny little TO GO ONLY kitchen in the back of a convenience store. Super friendly people working there.!!! And the food was terrific. I ordered a loaded breakfast burrito, which was the tastiest thing I've tasted in a long time with its spicy aïoli sauce. They even cut the eggs up so when you bite into the burrito, the whole piece of egg doesn't come out!!! I also ordered a salad to take to work for later. If you've read any of my other reviews, you'll find a theme of the places I truly enjoy. Some of them are in places you'd never expect or places where even if you were looking at it, you'd never know it was there. Black Rabbit Cafe is the latter. As an owner of a black rabbit, the name caught my attention. I really wanted a BLT and this place was right down the street from my office. Located in between a laundromat and a FedEx shipping place, the cafe is located in the back of a liquor store/froyo place. It's not quite going down a rabbit hole, but it's close. As for the food, I always order online and pick it up in 10-20 minutes later and the food has always been hot/ready when they say it is. If you order in store, you do the same on an iPad located at their counter. The menu is vast, but they specialize in panini sandwiches. So far I've only tried the BLAT (Bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato, served on toasted sourdough with some mayo) which is good and as simple as it gets. The bacon is crispy, the lettuce has some crunch, the tomato is fresh, and the avocado adds a creaminess to the whole thing along with the mayo. For a side, I tried their potato salad. It's a bit mustardy for my liking, but it was good along side a classic, simple sandwich. I also got their house made lemonade. Definitely tasted freshly squeezed with the right ratio of sugar and water. On a subsequent visit, I just wanted a fresh salad and their chopped chicken salad fit the bill. It had all the components of a traditional cobb salad, minus the egg. The chicken is perfectly cooked to order. I know this cause it was still warm when I picked it up. When I got back to the office and opened up the box, I was greeted with a palette of vibrant colors...the bright green romaine lettuce, the redness from the half cut cherry tomatoes, the purple from the red onions, crispy and caramelized bacon, and the light green from the cucumber contrasting the dark green specks in the bleu cheese crumbles. It almost a shame I drowned it in balsamic dressing and shook it up. For me, it was almost the perfect salad...it just needed avocado, which is a 2 dollar extra I forgot to add on, but I won't forget the next time I get this. There's more things on the menu like breakfast sandwiches and pasta. In the coming, colder months, I hope they add soups to their menu cause that would be so great with their sandwiches. I got the Black Rabbit Breakfast, which is a bagel, egg and jack cheese with arugula, chipotle aioli and avocado. The bagel was on the smaller-size. It's one of those places where you immediately feel comfortable. The customer service is outstanding -- warm, polite, and professional. You can tell the staff really cares about their customers. Amazing sandwiches for a great price!! Got the Black Rabbit Panini and Buffalo Chicken Panini. The panini was perfect. So flavorful. The Buffalo sauce was a bit too strong and overpowered the rest of the ingredients. You order on the digital kiosk and the chef starts making the order. Service was prompt. It's inside the convenience store and so you pay for your order at the convenience store cashier counter. So ambiance is not a sit down restaurant, it's more like grab and go. read more

I debated giving this place a 3-star review because they don't have a restroom for customers, however I won't, because the food was really good! The Black Rabbit Cafe is a bit deceiving because the restaurant - which shares its store front with, and is a part of Abyss market featuring beer, wine, spirits, and more - doesn't really make coffee, or tea items that you'd find at a cafe. You can, however, find a myriad of beverages within the Abyss market - which is also where you pay for your food before you leave. They also have a mini bar-seating area set up just outside the storefront to stop and eat. Sorry - no open alcohol containers allowed! As for the food, I really liked my Black Rabbit panini (also a bit deceiving because I don't think they use a panini press), with chicken breast, Monterey Jack cheese, avocado, tomato, arugula, and chipotle aioli on sourdough. I also enjoyed the cherry tomato and avocado salad, which was refreshing. The food was less than 20 bucks, was ready in no time, and the portions were large enough to split with my boyfriend.
