Jumpin' Java has been serving up breakfast & lunch on their little stretch of Ventura Blvd. for about 35 years, and you don't stay open that long in this town if you aren't doing a whole lotta things right. The cozy cafe about a block East of Laurel Canyon features more tables outside than in, and that's perfect for people-watching and lively conversation with friends while the Spring breeze keeps you cool. Our server paid very close attention to us, making sure coffees and soft drinks were refreshed as many times as necessary, and making good suggestions to folks navigating the eclectic menu for the first time. I chose Grits & Links: creamy, cheesy grits studded with nickel-sized circles of Louisiana sausage that packed just a touch of heat but plenty of Cajun flavor. While the grits could have used a bit more salt, the dish was hearty and quite generous, and I found it very satisfying. One friend ordered up the Apple Pancake, a single, 12-inch disc built from artisan batter and fresh-sliced, caramelized apples. I didn't taste, but the aroma of Fall ingredients made me want to steal my neighbor's food. Another opted for the Breakfast Lavash, a cross between a burrito and a panini, sporting Scrambled eggs, tomato, green onions, mushrooms and Feta cheese, wrapped in lavash bread and pressed till crisp; his wife ordered an impressively crisp waffle topped with assorted fresh berries so colorful I considered offering a cup of grits in exchange. All of the food was plated beautifully, served swiftly, and gave everyone the perfect start to their day. We even had a visit from the owner to make sure everything was to our liking. Well, yes; yes, it was. And if you haven't yet made it to Jumpin' Java, or haven't in a while, you should go see what a jump start they can give you.
I have been to Jumpin Java several years ago. It was time to return. Yesterday,my friend and I went to this cute, quaint restaurant for late breakfast, early lunch. We were both very hungry and couldn't wait to taste couple of their dishes. The owner Sona, invited us in and Mike came to take our order. He was very nice, personable, helpful, and knew his job pretty well. Told us few of their menu options, and the ball was in our court. It was easy to place our order, and the food came out nice and HOT. Didn't take too long. We shared 2 entrees. Got their Mediteranian Omelette, which came with: marinated sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil, Kalamata olives, garlic, & grilled eggplant accompanied with a side of fruit. They didn't charge for the fruit. Also, got Artichoke Chicken Press sandwich: Fresh grilled chicken breast, artichoke & tomato spread, arugula, Provolone cheese, pressed on Ciabatta bread with French Fries. I also ordered (2) English Muffins. Food was out of this world! Hands down delicious, fresh and hot. I also got Pumpkin Spice decaf latte. Restaurant was nicely themed, & decorated for the Holidays. Genre of music was Christmas music, & some fine Jazz/blues. I know, an awkward combo, but they knew what they were doing. Place was clean, with a nice, standard size patio, parking was in the back, and the restroom was also very clean, with cute decors everywhere and a small window in the restroom. They close at 4pm. Honestly I have came to eat at this restaurant multiple times a week because they have so many options to choose from and the quality of the food is actually good. They been open for 30+ years and I love trying new menu items. I love that they have poached eggs as an option for egg style and I think its unique that they use French bread for the French toast -- the fruit is always really fresh and the service is always 5 stars. Everyone on their staff is very kind and helpful and they all work efficiently as a team. The restaurant itself has both outside and inside seating and it's a big establishment but there is enough space between tables etc. I would recommend this place for a late breakfast or even a nice lunch.
Here's the full rewrite with no dash at all: Jumpin' Java is hands down one of my family's go-to spots. My favorite dish, the Cinnamon Kiss, never disappoints. Same recipe for years and the chef always nails it. Every visit feels like family with warm, attentive service. The outside seating ambiance makes you feel like you're truly in California, soaking in that laid-back vibe. My staple order is the breakfast combo: egg whites, chicken apple sausage, turkey bacon extra crispy always on point. My daughter tried the capers with chicken. She found the chicken breast a bit dry, but the Cinnamon Kiss made up for it. After all these years, still a solid nine out of ten. Highly recommend!

Found this place on yelp to grab breakfast before heading back to Vegas. Service was good, our server Mike was very attentive. Food tasted fresh and came out hot. It was $70 for two people for breakfast which I think was a little steep but not abnormal for the area. Overall a good place to check out.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. The atmosphere was warm, clean, and comfortable. What truly makes this place special is the dedication of the owners. Even after 31 years, they still come in every day and work alongside their team. That level of passion and commitment really shows in the quality of the food and service.
I loved this brunch spot. I was visiting family and found this place on yelp yo have brunch off the 101. We sat outside on the patio as it was a perfect day. There was a well behaved fur baby there too which I appreciate. The food was great and the staff was so nice. The staff was attentive and made sure we were happy without food. There was only street parking from my view as I am not familiar with the area. Food was tasty. I'd recommend coming back here! They also had fresh squeezed OJ!
First time back here in almost 10 years! I stopped by with my friend for brunch after hiking at Fryman. Parking on a Sunday is almost impossible to find, but thankfully they had a few spots available at the lot in the back. We were seated right away. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict with potatoes and I had the Mediterranean omelette with a side of fruit (which they don't charge extra for!!!) My omelette was perfect and the fruit was fresh. My friend also enjoyed her meal and I tried some of her potatoes which were BOMB! Breakfast potatoes are usually a hit or miss for me, but these were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My only complaint from the meal was the service. Once we were seated, it took a while for someone to come by and take our orders, we were not checked on during the meal, and I had asked to add sausage to my omelette but I guess they forgot. Anyways, maybe it was an off day. The food was amazing so I would definitely give them another chance.
This place is owner onsite and has been in the valley for 30 years. Service is five star and portions are generous. The menu has salads wraps main dishes and drinks. Food is not prepared in advance so quality food will take time. Some parking in back and on street you may eat inside or on patio
Definitely won't be back here any time soon. We were walking by and thought this place was cute so we came back and we got a table. After we were seated it took the longest time for anyone to even come over to our table. We never got water or even silverware. When the waitress finally came over we ordered our food and drinks. The drinks came out pretty quickly but they got our coffee order wrong so that had to go remade. Then after another long period of time our food came out. My boyfriend said his food was ok but I did not like mine at all. The waffle was extremely soggy and the apples had no taste even though it was meant to be like an "apple pie" style. As we were eating not came to check on our table and my boyfriend had to go up to another waitress at the register and ask for our check. I also looked around to other tables and their food took long as well. But some servers were more attentive than others.
A bit pricey but a really cute patio and a long history. Solid food: panini had a perfectly grilled chicken breast and crusty bread. The breakfast lavash wasn't as good, possibly better without adding sausage. Overall, a good place to catch brunch in Studio City.
This place is a neighborhood GEM. The food is always delicious, and tastes like homemade with love. All the pancakes, omelettes, and the French toast options are to die for. The place is a best kept secret, with some indoor and outdoor seating. They also have take-out options. All of the staff are friendly and available to help (even when they are short on hands). You can tell that this place is family-run. My one complaint is the coffee - I think they started using a different bean/roast than prior. Quality of the coffee is low, and tastes stale/flavorless/watered down. All the espresso drinks were made incorrectly and the brewed coffee was a miss. Otherwise, this is a family favorite and my favorite spot for breakfast in Studio City! Highly recommend :)

Came back, as promised! This time on a Thursday mid-day. We found parking on a side street and there were ample tables available for us outside under their lovely awning & umbrellas. Even tho this is on a busy street, it's a nice space to be outdoors in. This time we weren't right under a speaker and the music was a nice volume. We ordered a latte and a black forest mocha. The mocha was too sweet for our tastes so we'd order that half sweet next time. Both were decent coffees, but nothing special or particularly nice. Almost no foam on either. We ordered the Country Breakfast from the regular menu and the Country Breakfast Benedict Special from the specials of the day sheet. Both came with scrambled cheesy eggs, which were delicious. The potatoes were great (we added some salt) and the biscuits were actually quite nice. It's hard to find a decent biscuit. These were the more bready kind (like kfc), but a good rendition of them. Good flavor, good texture, moist. I bet they'd be real nice soaked in butter! The gravy on the Country Breakfast was nice, even for me a person who doesn't normally care for sausage. The eggs were a lovely soft scrambled, great texture and really nice flavor. I would order both of these dishes again. Service was really friendly and they checked in on us frequently. We were in somewhat of a hurry and they graciously accommodated our requests and helped us pay for the bill early in the meal to facilitate our plans. Went on a Sunday around noon and it was definitely about a 30 min wait. It was a little odd because there was two tables available outside the whole time we were waiting and no one was being sat there the whole time we waited . Once we got seated, we got sat in one of those exact tables. Anyway, we ordered : Steak and eggs with country potatoes Steak was delicious , potatoes were def mushy and not crispy at all. Sourdough was nice and toasty. Waiter only came by once towards the end of our meal to check if we needed anything and he def looked like he didn't wanna be there . While taking the order and then later while we were closing out. Not really sure if I would be back here , but again, the hanger steak was really good. read more

Cute place with friendly staff. It kind of took awhile to get water and for someone to take our order but the biscuits were super fluffy and delicious. I wouldn't recommend the mango smoothie, we subbed coconut milk for almond milk and the smoothie just really lacked any flavor, tasted like we were drinking a glass of straight up almond milk. read more

Service and food were great but the food took a little too long to come out. They weren't that busy when we had lunch. This was my first time here. Hard to choose, so many choices. Enjoy California/Mediterranean cuisine for breakfast and lunch at very reasonable prices. Breakfast served all day! Delicious fresh big portions. My side salad was great and my Eggplant Panini with fresh mozzarella was fantastic. The basil tahini sauce it came with was so bright and packed a punch and I don't much like tahini! I later ordered a grilled chicken breast which tasted great but I was already full. Plus I had some panini to bring home. I was into Chai Latte at the time and theirs was very good. The side of breakfast potatoes are ah-MAZE-ing! When potatoes are that good, you appreciate the skills behind what is often unmemorable potatoes. I'm thankful my friend let me help myself to hers! We sat outside on the patio, relaxing despite some noise on Ventura Blvd. Jumpin Java is also dog-friendly. Wished I lived closer. I would definitely come often and I could easily follow a healthy Mediterranean diet here! read more

Decided to have breakfast in the area and I Looked up a couple spots around me. Found a lot of interesting one but Jumpin Java grabbed my attention. It's located Right on Ventura, cute outside and indoor seating, feel good oldies tunes playing in the speakers. All the staff here are really nice and super attentive. Service was phenomenal and up to par. They have a huge menu. It's not only a breakfast spot they also have a lunch menu. Pretty much they have something for any cravings you might be having. I ordered the grits and link with a side of house potatoes. Absolutely delicious. I was more than satisfied with my choice, the servings are huge! I tried some of the French toast. Fire! Everyone liked this place. We really enjoyed our experience here at Jumpin Java. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for good breakfast joint. We will returning soon. Thanks you !!! read more

I'm so happy my friend told me about this spot, this is my second time coming here. Their menu is huge but so is the vegan menu as well, so that really makes my heart happy that they care about us plant eaters lol. I ordered the Vegan burger with a side of house potatoes. Let me first start off by saying the house potatoes have absolutely no competition. The amount of flavors and love they put into these magical, mouthwatering little bite of heaven is a blessing. You don't even need ketchup!! And that's saying something. The burger was one of the best veggie burgers I have had in a while. Nothing compared to a fast food veggie patty, this burger arrives on a ciabatta bun and has sautéed veggies on it. Completely yummy!!! I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! read more
Visited here on a whim when looking for a casual weekend brunch spot last-minute & adored this place (thank you Yelp!). Parking was pretty easy to find on the street - we only had to park 1 block away on Ventura Blvd. Upon walking up, we only had to wait 5-10 minutes until a table opened up, and this was on a Sunday around 12:15pm when many places have 1-hour wait times. The seating is relatively small and they have outdoor tables, which we needed since we had our dog with us. Zero complaints about the service - it was straightforward and very pleasant. We were hungry and just wanted simple breakfast basics, no frills needed, so we ordered very standard items including bacon, scrambled eggs, and pancakes, but we also had the French toast which was different from other places, as it seemed to be thick baguette slices, sliced on the bias (diagonally). It wasn't very heavy or overly eggy like a lot of French toast can be, so it was easy to finish and very yummy. Definitely scratched the French toast itch I had. We also had iced coffee drinks that were excellent and refreshing on the hot day that we were there. We decided we must return again soon, as a lot of their menu looked very good and they had a few special dishes as well. A very inviting, no-frills locals spot that I highly recommend! read more

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place already! I'm a regular here and order for delivery often! Everything I've tried has been amazing but recently I've tried some of their vegan options(even though I'm not vegan) and it's so delicious! I got the tofu scramble last time which was amazing with some hot sauce but today I got the vegan breakfast burrito and it's so filling! Could easily feed 2 people! I also love their breakfast potatoes! I appreciate that for takeout they don't skimp on giving you condiments or utensils. I also highly recommend the b-52 mocha! It's my favorite! read more

Food was alright I wanna say 8/10 I went in for breakfast with my family, staff makes it worth it very attentive and nice! The coffee is very good! We got the mocha blended it does get very busy so I say go earlier so you don't have to wait for sitting it's indoors / outdoors so the ambiance is very calm. read more

I was in Studio City running errands and found this little gem while looking for brunch places. Our waitress was extremely nice (wish we got her name) and was very attentive to us when it came to taking our orders and checking in afterwards. She recommended the Pancake Burrito and omg this thing was HUGE! I could barely get through one of them and had to take the rest to go. I added sausage to it, but honestly it would have been just fine without it. Another thing I loved about our waitress is that I told her to take my card instead of bf's for payment because it was his birthday. Afterwards she came out with Nutella and chocolate crepes topped with whipped cream and a candle! She even joked around saying "now sir, why wouldn't you tell me it was your birthday?!" Definitely looking forward to trying this place again in the future. read more

This is my new neighbor breakfast spot! We first had it ordering thru UberEats! We had to come to visit the restaurant to try more items order the orange blossom pistachios pancake again and trying the Florentine Omelette which were some of the popular choices on their menu! We devoured it all loved how flavorful it was. Definitely coming back again and trying more items on there menu! Service was great as well very friendly staff! read more
