I have been here numerous times over the last five years and it's always been a good experience! The place has a very cozy "friends" type vibe and the staff is always very friendly and busy! They seem to work very hard and enjoy their job which probably also speaks a lot to the owner and management. The wait times are sometimes longer than other places, so just don't go there if you're in a huge rush. But it's not bad and they have tables and comfy coach and chairs while you wait. I think they're just putting extra care into your drinks! Also if you plan to work while you sip I always see quite a few people bringing their laptops in. There is a drive thru for those wondering! I had a very disappointing experience at Black Rock. They gave us the wrong size drinks, and after making us wait far longer than expected, the order was still incorrect. To make matters worse, my drink was handed to me in a cup that had a large slash in it. The cup leaked everywhere, spilling all over me and making a huge mess. This experience showed a lack of attention to detail and quality control. Between the long wait, incorrect order, and damaged cup, it was frustrating from start to finish. I've been here a few times, and the staff is always warm and welcoming--definitely a plus! This time, I ordered the iced Blondie with soy, but I have to say, this drink is much better hot. The iced version tasted watery and just didn't hit the mark. I actually ended up going to another coffee chain afterward for my caffeine fix--I needed something stronger! And now the birthday drink, something that used to feel like a genuine thank-you gets capped at a medium. This is what corporate greed looks like in real time: give less, charge more, and dress it up like nothing changed. Customers notice. Loyalty isn't built by squeezing people and hoping they won't say anything. I don't mind paying for good coffee. I do mind shrinkflation and perks being taken away while prices climb. Disappointing! I normally get a Carmel blondie with oat milk and it is a tasty drink about 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time it's bitter and I add creamer when I get home. It was 8am on a Monday and they were out of Oatmilk somehow. I got almond milk instead and it was the worst $9 tasteless cup of almond milk (and maybe a little coffee) I've ever had. My youngest attends the school I work at and we visit here nearly every Tuesday on the way to school for staff and student discount. It has been a sweet tradition and the drinks and service are always great! Black Rock has one of the best rewards programs going. I used to love coming here on the weekend, but I think the quality of the drinks has gone down over the past year. I started making my coffee at home, since the lattes I ordered had too much milk or syrup added to it. There's seating inside and outside with plenty of parking. The inside seating has couches and tables if you are trying to work or relax. The staff is always super friendly and gives me a pup cup for my dog. The service in the drive thru line is pretty quick too. Overall I would give Black Rock 3.5 stars. I hope the quality/consistency of the drinks improves. read more

The drive through here is the way to go! I think they prioritize those customers. We always get their coffee since it's on our morning commute. My husband loves their drinks! I don't love the syrups they use- weird after taste for me, but no one can beat their dirty chai latte. The breakfast is decent. The bacon egg sandwich is nice for on the go- it seemed like they made it fresh! The bacon is super peppery which gave it good flavor. Back to the drive through only rec. This weekend we stopped inside and only one person was in line ahead of us. We waited a weirdly long time to get helped after she finished ordering in front of us. Cozy coffee place with plenty of seating, lighting, and parking! There were many outlets for use and a wide selection of chairs and couches to sit at. Mexican mocha (8/10): pretty good! It was pretty big (don't remember the size I asked for), but it had a good balance of mocha and spices to it that didn't make it overwhelmingly cinnamon or cayenne. I was sipping on it for hours. I didn't give it a 10/10 since it was pretty standard, but there's nothing wrong with that! The barista who took care of me was super kind, which means a lot to me because I walked in at 7am. most times i come here they mess up my order i can't ask for a basic modification without getting slop of a drink. i wanted to order a chocolate chip freeze i just asked for no chocolate drizzle. they gave me frozen milk with chocolate chip pieces. i ask to have my sunrise fuel not mixed up it comes with oj on top of the drink with the syrups/freeze at the bottom (exactly how the drink is advertised btw) they give me my drink syrups on the bottom completely unmixed with oj on top so it's liquid syrup, white ice not mixed in, then oj on top. if they don't give me my drink like that everything is completely mixed together including the oj on top. im not understanding how this happens everytime. its so disappointing with the already high prices they have and i dont get a quality drink. the staff is kind enough i just dont understand how this keeps happening. read more

Coffee is like duct tape. It fixes everything. What's not to love at Black Rock? This Black Rock is pretty much like all the rest. You can get yourself a nice cuppa joe and have yourself a nice sit on a cozy sofa. If you need to get work done, there are a lot of tables and power outlets available. On this particular visit, my friends and I stole the sofa and arm chairs. It made for a great midday coffee break before we continued wreaking havoc on this beautiful city of ours. after some breakfast with my daughter we stopped by this location for some coffee. My daughter had been a few times before and recommended this location. She let me know they had great seating inside. So we headed over, parked and went inside to order and sit for a bit. It was quite busy, but service was quick and we were able to catch a seat on their awesome and very cozy couch. Honestly I was surprised it wasn't already taken. I loved it. She was so right. We had our drinks pretty fast. It was just as I asked for it as was my daughters. The parking lot was easy to access. This location offers a drive thru as all the others I'm used to. I just walked in here for the first time and this place is super cute! I ordered an oat latte kids temp. I have to say it's extra hot. But the great customer service makes up for it because everyone was super nice and seem like good people. The atmosphere is like workout/go get it music style, not a relax place if you are looking to study but I personally love it, I did wish their menu was a little bigger but I guess simplicity is always a good thing. Wow. What a difference a shift makes. Have been coming to the Chandler Ocotillo location off and on for about a year now, so thought I should throw in a positive review to support local. Unfortunately, what started out as 5 solid stars has petered down to only 1 star as today has gone by. Review Highlights: Coffee YAY! Black Rock is universally awesome. Food meh. They specialize in coffee, not nosh. Don't come to this location after 2 pm. The Details: Morning shift is always on it. Friendly people, prompt service, clean environment. Everything you want in a local coffee shop. Afternoon shift? Exact opposite. Sloooooooooooow service, more interested in gossiping behind the counter than actually serving customers, etc. etc. The usual culprits of "when the boss is away the mice will play" syndrome. Today, though, the place has progressively gotten more trashed as the day has gone by. Apparently today's afternoon shift doesn't believe in cleaning? Nope, not the two ladies behind the counter right now. The only thing I've seen them do well is crank up the music. And one by one, I've watched customers bailing out the door all afternoon because the music is up so loud that no one can carry on a conversation. There are absolutely ZERO groups in here today, whereas most afternoons this place is packed with students, families and business types enjoying the awesome decor and comfy chairs. Don't try to politely ask them to turn the tunes back down to where they usually are, either. "Corporate wants it this loud" was their rude reply today. Alrighty then. Today's afternoon shift is probably a one-off, but regardless, I'm bailing. Drive-thru? Maybe, because it *is* Black Rock after all. I tried the pumpkin Mexican mocha and it had a nice flavor but it was too strong for my liking. The energy drinks are meh. I got the banana bread as well... not good. It had no flavor at all. Love BR Coffee. I have been to other locations and since this opened so close to home wanted to give it a try. We went with caramel chocolate coffee medium. There was not much of a wait. We got in there and was out in a minute. The coffee was delicious, It was a little on sweeter side. Ofcourse Caramel, duh!! But otherwise I loved the taste of coffee, it was strong. I had the caramel mocha with no whipped cream. It was excellent. I stopped by on my way to an off site meeting. Service was quick. They have a rewards program. By 10 get one free, something like that. I signed up, but this location is really not super convenient for me. I needed to go through the drive-thru, and I would like to go back and see what it looks like inside. Seemed like a cute place.
