Reading the bad reviews on here are truly making me laugh Was on my way to a wedding with my baby and decided to stop in for a treat! I changed my order last minute and not only was the girl super sweet I went with her recommended fuel and it was so so good!! Also got to the window and the sweetest girl gave me a compliment. Meant so much!! The reviews about workers being pushy or inappropriate are so out of touch and I think miss the whole point of great customer service! I worked and managed a coffee shop for about three years and can truly say I would be extremely pleased with my coworkers if they had the same vibe/energy! Great job guys! read more

Never have I ever...Had a BAD experience at Black Rock. When you arrive it's always a chill and fun vibe. They are always young (late teens early 20's kids) working there and they're ALWAYS up beat, positive and it seems like they're having fun working AND with their co-workers. I said as my daughter and I waited on our holiday beverages, that the staff is ALWAYS smiling and friendly and that I've NEVER had a bad experience at BR!! The staff are always bright and smiling and caring. They always ask how our day has been what our plans are, etc. And the drinks are alwy great. I just wish they were MUCH closer to home! read more

I came in the other day to order a Blue Melon Fuel for my girlfriend. While placing my order, the employee assisting me was very pushy about getting me to try his Hi-Chew Fuel creation. I politely declined multiple times and explained I was there specifically for the drink I ordered, but he continued to push it. In addition to that, he made unnecessary and unprofessional comments about my haircut, which I found inappropriate. The overall interaction felt rude and uncomfortable for the rest of the order. I've been here many times before and have always had great experiences, which is why this stood out so much. Unfortunately, this was the lowest level of customer service and hospitality I've experienced here. After a 20min wait time in line, got our drinks and drove off only to realize my hot latte was actually just warm milk. Not hot. We also just realized we did not get our points applied to our order. I do realize you guys are always short staffed so that has a lot to do with it but I'm also a paying customer so I hope your location gets the support you need. read more

I was working at a community right off Oleson Road in walking distance to Black Rock so I popped in because it was lunchtime and I hadn't even eaten breakfast. I purchased a spinach everything croissant and a iced oat milk chai. Everything came out pretty quickly. I asked for the croissant to be heated up a bit. When it came out. It was completely squished. It was flaky but the spinach portion was a little bitter. The everything seasoning was great though. My drink was good, refreshing but hardly iced. I asked for a topper off of more ice and it was much better after that. The inside was comfortable, lots of spaces to sit and tables as well. This locations customer service is subpar. I was charged 3x the amount my drink should have cost (I would know I get the same thing every-time) either they added themselves a nice tip or charged me for multiple. Not to mention my drink tastes different every time I go through this location... better off going to Starbucks across the street! read more

Slow service. It appears the staff care nothing about getting through a line of customers. The driveway has large pot holes. The staff is seldom friendly and if you do not tip, they become rude and abrupt. I would say about 50% of the time, they get my drink order wrong. Not this location's fault, but their reward-points system is terrible. Why do I have to say my phone number to a stranger every time I order a drink?!? read more

This stand has truly gone downhill over the last year. Whatever drink you order, be prepared for it to be messed up in some form or fashion. The rate that these mistakes occur are frequent enough that I am avoiding this stand and driving 3x the distance for the SW Pacific Hwy location, as they can make it correctly 90% of the time. The people are friendly at this stand, but their accuracy has much to be improved on; and until that happens I would try to avoid it. read more

Let me start by saying "I LOVE Black Rock" it has been my favorite on-the-go coffee spot for 5+ years. I think that I've been to every BR location in the Portland/Vancouver Metro Area and most have easy access from the street, but this location is quite challenging to maneuver through. This location is has the strangest most awkward entrance. Just trying to find the entrance to the driveway can be challenging (cut through/across the Sonic drive-thru lane to access the entrance to the BR drive-thru lane). After you have found your way to the entrance, be prepared to wait awhile in line... possibly a loooooong while! 12:30pm Saturday afternoon was approx 10 min wait just to get to the window to order (with 4 cars in front of us). Once we had placed our order, they prepared our drinks very fast *yay* and the customer service is excellent, super friendly. And of course the coffee was delicious!!! read more

How I've managed to not try Black Rock to this day, I'll never know. I've been self sabotaging my coffees. As far as flavor, this is where it's at for me. That deep coffee taste matching the flavoring of my Caramel Chiller had my heart at first sip. A lot of coffee places that I've tried are good, some better than others. I might have been a huge Dutch fan when I first tried them many years ago, but I might contribute that to the fact I was a smoker then. My taste buds needed extreme and while Dutch is good, it's drinks have more sweetness than coffee. You don't deny that there is any form of espresso in there but the fact that my mochas are made with chocolate milk seem to be suger overload for me. Whether it be a hot drink, blended, or over ice, Black Rock absolutely a place I'd go out of my way to get to. read more

Absolute WORST customer service I have ever received from black rock. I've been going to this establishment for years and I will never support another chain EVER again. The lady at the window, Blonde girl with long hair, refused my free drink because our order was messed up. The man taking our order have us a free drink since our order wasn't taken correctly. Her excuse was he was new and didn't know what he was doing. If I were a business owner and my customers had their order screwed up, I'd give them a free drink AND meal. Two things my Californian brain has a hard time getting used to about Oregon: someone else pumping your gas and these small drive through coffee shops. The coffee shops quickly became one of my favorite parts of my visit, especially my stop at the Black Rock Coffee Bar . I have tried Black Rock Coffee before in Arizona and it was amazing so when they popped up on my yelp search during this visit I had to make sure to go. Their Jackhammer coffee w/soy is my favorite. Plus the young lady running the shop was cheerful and helped my cousin pick out the perfect sweet drink she needed. I appreciated her patience and sunny service so much. Super sweet for a delicious treat!!! Love to order a Nutty Hawaiian. It's not on their menu, but they are always gracious to make it! Add a little macadamia nut and coconut with a splash of almond and you have a great drink. This little coffee place is off of 99W using the same entrance as Sonic Burger. Drive around to the back and drive thru to some delicious and decadent coffee. Be sure and get a punch card and after ten drinks the next one is on the house. read more

I have always been a sucker for packaging. This great coffee place has cute cups. The service us always great. My dog gets treats and they always have something nice to say. Sorry starbucks, my 7 year loyalty was broken in one sip. Not only is it delicious but they can pronounce my name! The coffee quality is smooth and not burned (unlike starbucks). I bought a drink for my husband that was expensive and he hated it. They made us pay for a regular coffee which was less than half the price. Really great drive up place, right on the way to my kids' school and activities, so super easy to pop in and out of. Really friendly baristas, great drinks and I love my frequent buyer card that gets you a free coffee after buying 10. My kids love getting a drink with whip cream on the straw, too! I don't know if they don't have them unless you ask but there is never an insert over the drink to keep your hand from getting too hot so that is the only thing that bugs me. read more
