Made us take our goggles back out to the car. They said they were not allowed. We asked if we could lock them up, and were denied. I walked them back to the car. The line was about 60 people deep, bag searches were very slow. They had 2 female guards just chit chatting, not doing anything at the front. As i swam, I noticed several people with the same googles swimming in the pool. A fight broke out right next to the life guard station, and the life guard just sat there. Although the kids had fun and there is enough to keep them busy, the park itself is very dirty. I don't recommend ever being barefoot here. The kids area is the best part. Plenty of seating and they are all shaded. It is also enclosed so that's a bonus. I just can't get past how scummy the whole park is. read more

If you can get cheap admission and need a quick dip in a pool with the kids then this might be for you. The place was fair sized and had some variety in water activities. A large pool with a very shallow end for toddlers that led to a deep area for adults. A lazy river. A jungle gym that sprayed water from every opening. This place has its perks....however, The floor of the main pool in some areas were cracked and had bits of concrete nearby. The floor of the pool seemed a bit too rough for me...but it is good for helping with traction if you fear your kids are unsteady on slippery pool floors. So it's personal preference I guess. Also the water seemed high in chlorine. The jungle gym water was burning my eyes. The main pool seemed ok but I'm not sure. The staff were fine and they had plenty of life guards. Overall not a bad place if you can get in cheap. But you might be better served looking elsewhere first. Also, try to arrive early on weekends if you want parking. Otherwise plan on parking across the street at the farm. read more

For my 2 kids and I to go on a Sunday, as residents, it's $25. You can't bring in food - only bottled water. The food that they sell is terrible. Overall the pool, the chairs, the bathrooms are on the dirtier side, but the worst thing about splash country is that the bottom of the pool feels like a million razor blades shredding your feet. My 6 year old has little gashes all over her feet after a day there. It's kind of absurdly rough. I don't mind spending the same at Phillips where the pool is better, the amenities are cleaner and I don't need to pack extra bandaids for our feet. read more

When it's a hot day in Aurora, Splash country is the best place to go, recommend for people 2-21

I have to compare this water park to others in the area and to that degree this place is two stars at best. The first problem here is that it's dirtier than the other local water parks. Deck chairs are clean but the main pool itself and lazy river had all kinds of debris on the bottom and on the nearby deck. I kept feeling sand and small tree debris on the bottom of the main pool and lazy river, and this was by midday. As far as the water park amenities go, I wasn't a big fan of those either. The duel water slides are average but they don't empty into the lazy river to continue the ride like other area water parks do. Instead, when you splash into the pool below you have to get out. The slides are pretty short so they're really not worth it. The lazy river is decent but can get very crowded. Back to the main pool, I like the fact that it gets gradually deeper. Problem is, it's not overly large and shares it's space with the youngest toddlers on the entry side. They also have a couple of swimming lap lanes at the deepest end..which went unused for the most part. Aside from the dirtiness factor there's just not a whole lot to enjoy here. If you're looking for a water park in the area with better amenities I'd recommend Otter Cove or Turtle Splash. Cheers. read more

For once Yelp didn't get it quite right with this one. We took the little ones here and had a great time! It's more for small children to maybe pre teens. They have a super shallow end of the main pool which is perfect for the shall ones who can't swim yet. They have a deeper end with two lanes but good luck getting any laps in without people jumping in your way. As for the facility everything I came across was clean and in good working order. I feel like the pricing was just about right and we will be back again. read more

Splash Country is a beautiful water park that is completely mis-managed. The guards are horrible, they allow everyone to break rules right in front of them and do NOTHING! Safety is NOT good here because they can't manage the crowds!! I also bought a season pass and have had it with the bus loads of kids who are NOT supervised. But neither do most of the parents who bring kids here either. They just put a vest on them and do nothing. I feel the guards are actually scared to correct anyone. It is a joke here and there are so many guards and police here that do nothing and I pay tax dollars for this. It's sad that what could be a jewel in our area is not what it could be. They allow people in clothes, not swim suits. How does this happen? But what they are sooo concerned here is if you bring an item of food, so as to not cut into the concessions profits. They need to look how the guards manage the crowds at Raging Waves & Centennial Beach to see how a pool should be ran. It's truly embarrassing and many of my friends leave this park district also and pay more for better and safer water parks in adjacent towns!! And also, that a season pass only goes thru mid August, which should mean that the season passes should be cheaper since the pool is actually closed in summer!!! After reading some of the reviews. I was a little skeptical about this place. It didn't have very good reviews. But when I got there it wasn't to bad. It wasn't dirty like reviews stated. It looks like they have improved. The lazy river is a nice feature and so is the water slide. I thought the place was clean. The Bathrooms were not too bad but it is a pool so what can you expect with all that water around. I am not one for walking on ground barefoot so I had water shoes which were find for me. The only thing I didn't care for was the lost and found area as you left. It was table full of wet items. It would be better if that is not so open. That was the only real issue I saw. This place was DISGUSTING!!!!!! When I was there a kid pooped in the pool and the staff told me they would only be closing the pool for 30 minutes. By law you must close your pool for 24 hours after fecal contamination!!!!!!! I am horrified! That is unacceptable! I wish I could give 0 stars read more

Overall, it's a nice facility. We went on a Thursday, and there were plenty of available lounge chairs available. It was not crowded at all. There were more than enough life-guards who were all very attentive to their job. The zero-depth pool is nice for toddlers and younger children. The lazy river was simple but very enjoyable. There are two water slides and no wait to get onto the slides. I think children through age 13 would enjoy it, older kids would probably want a greater variety of more adventurous slides. I read other reviews stating the facility was dirty, and I did not get that impression. The surface at the bottom of the pool is rough, but similar to non-slip surfaces I've experienced at other water parks. The food at the snack bar was very inexpensive; my child enjoyed it, but it certainly is not 5-star cuisine. We found a Groupon for Splash Country, and the cost was more-than-reasonable. Everything was working, clean, well maintained and I really liked all the flowers coming in and all around the park, it made you feel like you were at a garden also. I'll only give it one star because I'm required in order to post . . . it truly deserves 0. Walked in through the locker room which was disgusting and smelled like urine. Got out to the pool area which wasn't horribly bad but was amazed at the lack of cleanliness. We were there for about 30 minutes or so when they evacuated the pool due to feces in the pool caught in netting. It was an extremely disgusting way to end an equally disgusting entrance. Splash Country was one of my favorite places to go to as a young child. As I got older however, the place wasn't as innocent as it was when I was little. Every year Splash gets filthier and filthier. The bathrooms and showers are DISGUSTING. The smell of chlorine, sweaty bodies, and puke linger throughout the park. Some little kids Band-Aid will probably end up in your mouth (it has happened to me before!!!) because the pool is never cleaned out. Bought a season's pass online in May for 2015 and was extremely disappointed in the poor condition of this water park. Wish I could have seen it before paying that amount. It had been several years since we were at Splash and something has drastically changed....sadly, not for the better. Management? Lazy employees? Not sure the reason, but here is what we found after arriving for their first weekend opening of the summer: 1. The lazy river actually had a dirt ring all around the sides at the water level. Surely that should have been cleaned/scrubbed before opening for the year. 2. Upon entrance of the lazy river, you will see an incredible amount of sand and leaves. This isn't at the end of the day, it was at 11:00 a.m. A quick vacuuming would have done the trick, but it appeared it didn't matter to their staff. 3. Several lounge chairs were in poor condition, straps missing, chair back adjustments were broken. 4. Women's restroom had at least 10-12 stalls, however only two of them had toilet tissue. 5. Same women's restroom had two soap dispensers, both were empty. 6. Never once saw someone testing the quality of the pool water as we do at Phillips. In early August, the same friends and I spent the day at Raging Waves in Yorkville. Yes, the price is higher, but we got a Groupon. Found this water park to be in much better condition, clean but more crowded than Splash. It appears Splash is losing customers to Raging Waves and for good reason. This place was a wonderful water park in year's past. Management, please step it up for 2016 and make the much needed improvements. Thank you! read more

Splash Country water park is a blast if you have kids. They have the zero-depth entry pool, so bring kids of any age - even infants (as long as they are old enough for sunscreen). They also have a cool lazy river. We haven't done the water slides because my kids aren't swimmers yet, but they look like good fun. They do birthday parties for a rather reasonable fee. From the moment we arrived the employees at the ticket booth were very lazy and had attitudes. My outing which was about 20-25 people went out to eat in the parking lot, when we tried to come back in they told us they are closing early at 4. When we bought our tickets it showed that on Sunday they close at 6, no where on the premises was it advertised that due to low attendance they could close nor were we Warned about that when we each asked for a reentry stamp. This is a very low quality customer service park. The manager wouldn't answer any of our calls. It's a nice small water park with a huge ego, never again!!!! read more

If I could separately leave a review of the lazy river and water slides, this would be a 4 or 5 star review. I love them both. Unfortunately, the lifeguards for the whole place are oblivious to what happens. My child got stuck in one of the tubes and was underwater. (he was upside down and his feet were caught over the tube) He passed right by a lifeguard who did nothing because he was on his iPhone. I seriously thought about saying something. The pool itself is terrible, the bottom is too rough and disgusting, full of used band-aids and such. Lived in the area for a while and never visited. Found a groupon and decided it might be a fun activity for the kids, it's close by and seemed to have the basics. We visited during the week at around noon, the parking lot was pretty full but right away I did notice a few buses full of kids. The staff consists of high school kids and they weren't too friendly, they almost seemed a little lost like they weren't sure what they were doing there. Inside you'll find a decent size pool, 2 water slides, a splash area, and a lazy river. It sounds like a lot but it's really not. It's a very small water park but it served its purpose. There was a lot of people there but it didn't feel overcrowded, we were able to get tubes for the lazy river just fine. Lots of unsupervised kids, where the moms are kinda just sitting on a chair lounging, saw it first hand the lady sitting next to me had about 3 kids who were roaming around alone, one of them was about 3ish. There were a few summer camps there, again adding to the unsupervised kid category. All in all it was just an ok place, the kids had fun but not sure if we will be back. read more

I was really excited about getting a season pass with my daughter last year since it was my first summer staying at home with her. I thought we'd really enjoy hitting up this water park since it's close to home. It was such a waste of money. Every day they bussed in huge groups of kids, so the park would get insanely full - so full that they were over capacity and we'd have to stand outside and wait for someone to leave. On days we arrived early to beat the crowds, we only had about an hour before the buses started coming in. It just didn't seem fair for everyone who either bought tickets or paid big bucks for the season pass to either be stuck waiting outside or have it be so overly full that it became completely unenjoyable. The kids in the huge groups were usually unsupervised (they came w/ teens who didn't really watch what was going on) and aggressive - my toddler was knocked over and even pushed countless times by some of these groups of kids. It was shocking. We do not plan to come back there this year. It's a waste of money if they are going to continue sending multiple buses in each day causing it to be way overcrowded to the point of capacity. We've been to multiple water parks, and never experienced the level of crowding that went on at this park last year. read more
