Have gone to the Naperville Riverwalk many times - it's a lovely area! Beautiful, serene, well kept by the city. Some bugs occasionally, but the walk around the river is very nice, there are events around the area frequently particularly in the summer. A bunch of restaurants around the riverwalk as well. You can walk through the bridge which is also very nice. The paddleboat can be enjoyed in the summer time too which is great! Low cost and fun for the whole family. Great for family fun and relaxation. Definitely recommend! read more

Arrived around 7:30 pm on a Sunday to meet a woman from an online dating app. The ambiance was subtle and romantic. A very nice area for walking! The trail itself is flat and easy to walk - no need for specific hiking shoes or anything. This is a very peaceful and calm area and a nice spot to stroll while in the Naperville area. There are also water activities such as paddle boats and kayaking. There are signs everywhere that say no biking, roller blading, skate boarding etc but there were a few people who don't follow those instructions. read more

A beautiful view of the DuPage River is in downtown. It has very nice scenery and a few statues are along it. Naperville Riverwalk is among the the best things about this kind of snobby suburb. Good place to check out the best views of the area. There's lots of restaurants and shopping around here. Basically it's the river all along downtown. It has paths on either side, and a few bridges across it. The views of the downtown area and the river are wonderful. Gets crowded when it's later. There's lots of people going to the bars and restaurants at night. Go during the day to see the beautiful landscaping. There's also lots of cool statues. Among the statues is the Dick Tracy Monument. This is one of the more interesting ones. Good stuff to check out around here. It has lots going on. The area here mostly is safe. read more

The scenery was so nice and refreshing. Perfect place to come on a date or bring the kids. Great place to come and take pictures for a photo shoot. Hidden gem areas where you can relax and chill. They even have a newly build pool area. I feel in Love with Naperville. Everyone was friendly while walking along the bridge. Cute sitting area for you to enjoy the scenery and just mediate. It's been a long time since I've personally been to downtown Naperville but I've never explored the Riverwalk. This place is absolutely beautiful, scenic and features different variations than just staying on one path. There's a path on each side of the river, they'll spur out, lead to shops, the clock tower, scenic views or the clock tower. Beautiful, romantic, intimate with tons of great photos you can take here in the heart of this growing city that's all for free makes this really worth visiting any time of the year. Short but sweet walk though it does get longer into some woods. Under the 2nd bridge is quite an echo, a great place to sing love songs like "A Whole New World" and whatever else you want to sing. Try it, you'll like it. It leads out to the downtown area that's always changing. Some staples remain like fabulous Cookie Dough Creations and Barnes and Nobles. And all types of restaurants pop up like Seol Taco, sushi joints, and all types of gift shops, thrift shops, clothes, shops, and more. The stories were true: this is a lovely neighborhood with a variety of habitats, views and activities both athletic and close proximity to the many restaurants of the downtown. We love the River walk, especially in the Summer or Fall. It's such a great place to walk your dog, people watch, soak up the fresh air or visit some local boutiques and familiar brand-name shops (from Benefit to Ulta and Pottery Barn to Clark's shoes). There's a lot of variety in restaurants too and chances are, there's someplace for everyone, no matter what you're craving. We just went to our first Christkindlemarket in Naperville and really enjoyed how open it was, compared to the Chicago location. Although it was opening weekend, there seemed to be much more room to walk around. There is plenty of free parking in the area and pet owners will appreciate the waste bag stations and disposal cans along the walk. It cam be a little crowded on a weekend, on the narrow path along the water, but still a great place to visit and take photos too. The bridges and overpasses along the river are so pretty and there always seems to be something to see or do here in the River walk area. It's a perfect spot for catching up with friends or just a quiet walk to de-stress for a bit. read more

The Naperville Riverwalk is a very nice area to walk around. It is very peaceful, clean, and well maintained (and FREE too!!), with lots of water activities available too such as paddle boating. My only complaint is I wish the water was cleaner when I was here. There was a lot of algae in the water when I came here, and I also wish there was a guard rail here. The walking paths, which are on both sides of the river, can be a bit narrow at times, making me wish there was one present in case of a misstep. read more

What a wonderful, relaxing spot to hang out! Was in town for a family event and we stayed at Hotel Indigo. The Riverwalk is literally "feet" away from the hotel. A great spot to sit, chat, observe etc. There's a number of photo opportunities along the "walk". Initially, I strolled the walk during the late evening hours but found it to be oh so more tranquil in the early morning hours when folks are out for a jog/stride and just chilling! Within the beautiful little downtown area with shops and restaurants in Naperville, there exists a lovely riverwalk to take a stroll along the DuPage River. The riverwalk itself has some nice brick paths, fountains, wooden bridges, sculptures and artwork. Seems to be quite the popular spot on summer weekends as we saw plenty of people strolling along on the Saturday we had visited. It also is quite the spot for photo ops as we did see a wedding party doing some photos there with a professional photographer. Anyways, if you find yourself in Naperville be sure to check out the downtown area and riverwalk as it's quite the sight to see. The Riverwalk is such a fun place for all ages. First and foremost, it's easy to find -- and so is parking! If you're afraid of where to start, just type in Jackson Ave in your GPS and you'll find a plethora of public parking and the river walk entrance right across from Sullivan's steakhouse. During the summer this is a MUST stop. It is right in the heart of downtown Naperville! The scenery is beautiful and it's perfect for an afternoon or night stroll. I used to love coming here as a kid and feeding the ducks (however I don't think you are supposed to do that -- my bad!) Anyway, the route is scenic, close to the water, and takes you through a good portion of DT. Get off the river walk to go paddle boating or to go have a picnic at the hill. The river walk even takes you to centennial beach which is amazing in the summer time! This is one of my FAVE spots in Naperville. It's perfect for all ages and you will enjoy this either with your family or potential boo thang. There's a restaurant just off the river walk that you can stop in and go to as well. I've been coming to the Naperville Riverwalk since I was about 3 years old. Literally, my mom would bring us down here and we'd walk around, go to the park, feed the ducks, and have a picnic -- one of my favorite childhood memories. Fast forward like 27 years and I'm still enjoying the Riverwalk! Of course it has changed SO much in all that time, but it's such a beautiful place to enjoy. I love popping in my earbuds, listening to a podcast, and strolling the paths. The Riverwalk is a great place for photo ops as well. There are always photographers strolling the river for senior photos, family pics, wedding shots, and more. You'll find park benches, stairs, and other nice spots to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There are maps along the way too so you don't get lost. On your walk you'll come across a cafe, Centennial Beach, a playground, restaurants, art, and more. I definitely need to bring my son down here in his stroller, but I can't wait until he's old enough to fully enjoy all that is the Riverwalk! read more

What a great little town. Visited my friend that lives in Naperville and I just loved it. Seems like everywhere we went she knew someone. It has a small town vibe yet a fun downtown area with lots of cute shops and restaurants but the river walk is the best touch of it. Without the little disrespectful, assholes that run rampant in these parts at night, the riverwalk is still a great FREE way to spend an afternoon, and if you feel like spending some Monopoly money, head over to the pond nearest the Millennium Carillon for paddle boating at a most nominal fee. I absolutely love the Riverwalk. I have been coming here since I was a kid and now I come with my husband and our dogs. There is always something to do. I love the paddle boats or coming out here for picnics with friends and family. The town always has events at the Riverwalk too, especially for kids like storybook readings or face painting. The river is beautiful and lined with stores and restaurants more towards the downtown area. When you go a little further past centennial beach, you have a few parks here and there but mainly trails. It is a great path to hit if you are a runner. Winter or summer, the Riverwalk is absolutely stunning and a must-see/do when visiting Naperville. read more

Now, if you are comparing the Naperville Riverwalk to the one in San Antonio...then it wouldn't be 5-stars...but considering it's one of the few riverwalks in our area it's 5-star material for us. Nice meandering paths and plenty of stretches where you walk right next to the river. A good portion goes through the downtown area so if you are hungry or want to shop you can just pop off the walk to wander the shops & restaurants nearby. It certainly can make a difference what time of day and day of the week you go as far as how bustling it may be. The Riverwalk makes me proud to show off my town. Obviously, it is best enjoyed in warmer weather, so on this slushy, cold January day, I'll be glad to think of sunnier days, stilling along the river. I have enjoyed many walks there with my faithfu,l furry friend Harley. When he was younger, he was curious about the ducks, squirrels and occasionally more exotic animals we would stumble upon, but at thirteen (last summer) he ceased given them the time of day. He's more focused on the scents, likely due to ldimmer vision and hearing, but is equally content. Some days I cross paths with some fishermen. I've been lucky to hear tales of the Dupage River, long before this path had a fancy name. If it's the right time of year I enjoy watching fizzy yellow ducklings paddle furiously to keep up with their momma. You can get a close up view, and some exercise, if you rent a paddle boat. Numerous statues and memorials commemorate important figures and founders of our town. The dendelion fountain is a favorite stop for toddlers and their moms, and I usually see a photographer or two taking advantage of the handsome bridges as backdrops for family portraits. It's good to be a teacher with plenty of days off in the summer, when the Riverwalk is at its finest. read more

Beautiful Riverwalk, Less chaotic, busy, and big than the Chicago Riverwalk but beautiful and has a lot of nature and shops and restaurants within walking distance. go in summer or fall but spring is also nice also in the winter they put up holiday lights and trees and stuff along the Riverwalk which is cool and River street has hotel indigo which is nice and new with nice restaurants (as I said) good for dogs and there are a lot of parks along the Riverwalk and there are Pavillions with festivals and small thing for children and adults. You could grab something to eat like a sandwich or ice cream and take a nice walk on the river's edge. One of the best Riverwalks in the US and not many people know about it. read more
