This is an older pool, so it's not as glitzy as some of the other pools in the area. They have 1 water slide, a diving board, a sand pit and a great toddler area. The toddler area here is fenced in and has it's own pool which is 0 dept to 2 feet or so. There are lots of chairs here for moms to sit poolside. Off of the toddler pool is the sand area. I've spent lots of time here and there are always extra chairs and some benches. There are toys available here, I wouldn't bring your own because you will get a headache trying to keep an eye on them. Pricewise, this pool has a cheaper admission rate for non residents. It's $11.75 for an adult and $7.00 for a child. Sometimes the pool closes early due to swim meets and this pool opens later that Rice Pool due to swim lessons. Another important thing to know is that the kids in the daycamps at Northside Park, swim at this pool from 1-3 or so. This summer (2010) the camps are relocated due to work at the park, but they will be back next year. This pool is a great one to hang out with your little ones. If you have older kids, the slides at Rice Pool are a better source of entertainment.

However a simple pool they have all of the pizzazz and the new pools. They have great music always, a slide AND diving board. Kiddy pool AND sand box. The sand box is the original mine craft as the kids make rivers and lakes in the sand. Get your kids out of the house and have a unforgettable time here. If you're looking for an indoor tennis membership, Wheaton Sport Center (WSC) is an excellent…read morechoice. They have friendly staff, efficient service, and adequate facilities and equipment. For our family, WSC serves multiple purposes. My husband is an active tennis player who tries to play at least twice a week. Considering how brutally cold Chicago winters are, it wouldn't be feasible to play outdoors during the winter months. So with WSC, he has been able to find a community of players to play throughout the winter. On the weekends, my husband would give our young girls and cousins private tennis lessons. There are four, all year-round, indoor courts, and eight dome courts for the winter. We have been consistently going every weekend for the last four months and have yet to encounter any availability issues. In addition to tennis, our girls have also joined the swimming lessons. For level 3, there are usually 2-4 instructors. Thus far, we have had a good experience with Ms. Abby, Mr. Christopher, and Ms. Christina. The class size is generally around 8-12 kids depending on attendance. Knowing how young children are, it takes a ton of effort and patience to get them to listen to instructions. Huge kudos to these instructors for having that high-level patience! As for myself, I would utilize the gym equipment such as treadmills, ab machines, and weights. All of the equipment are well maintained and clean. WSC could get busy on the weekends but I have not had trouble with machine availability. All in all, WSC is a solid place for anybody looking for a place to play indoor tennis, have young children who are interested in swimming, and/or just trying to maintain healthy life choices.

Especially one lady with short hair who is always chatting with younger staff and barely looks up to check people in. other's area lifetimes greet you warmly when you enter but most of the desk staff is preoccupied here. Gym desperately needs cleaning- cleaning is done by internal staff. Mats are dirty and never see anyone wiping down weights or mats / although they have spray and towels for guests to use. Restrooms are dirty and need a deep clean and improvements -( behind the stall doors- need to be cleaned)! This location is 20+ years old and lots of newer clubs going in and send this one is being neglected. Speakers in the main group fitness room only work on one side and cut out in the middle of routines. Classes were great but they keep changing formats and if there are less than 12-15 in a class they cut the class. For the price being paid they should hold class even if 5 people sign up. So many trainers around for a fee but classes seem to be getting limited compared to the newer gyms. Still going due to location but it needs some love!

Hope this is something that can be addressed as everyone in this community deserves fair opportunities to enjoy these amenities.$19 for an 1hr in the gym is ridiculous.

Where do I start?…read more upon initial tour I was kind of impressed, but I hadn't really looked anywhere else (MY MISTAKE!!) and signed up right away. my very first class I went to was called cardio dance. It was on a Saturday and the instructor was Angela. I could barely keep up with the class. It's like she's dancing to herself in the mirror with tons of jumping, and I don't know why people equate jumping with fitness. You can get a workout quite effectively without jumping around anyway she came up to me at the end of the class and told me because we were the same height that I should "look like her" and I was completely offended... not only is that ignorant. It's completely wrong because somebody's bone structure is not the same as somebody else's . Furthermore he should not be insulting somebody that's a paying member that's trying to better themselves. Then I took a pool fitness class. That's right here has to be the worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. On this particular day, one of the instructors I like didn't happen to come, and Terri showed up. I knew I should have left because I had already had issues with her for some reason she does not like me and doesn't try to hide it. You get the people in the pool that stand in the back row and all they do is talk and you can barely hear the music or what the instructor is saying and nobody says anything to them, but the person that's trying to better themselves that has injuries is being yelled at saying I'm "not working hard enough" or "push it harder"... even though I have injuries so on this particular day, I got screamed at in my face in front of a class of people And I was asked why I'm wasting her time and not working hard enough?!? I have an injury yet TERRI told me to push through that so I did and ended up almost five months on bed rest Another instructor tells you a move and stares off into space for about 5 minutes, then repeat. Super fun! Formats aren't followed correctly. You get classes here that cancel with very short (or no notice at all)! when you find an instructor that you like, they end up leaving or have previous commitments. Needless to say I have canceled my membership. I found somewhere that is less expensive that offers more. This place does not have a hot tub. They do not have tanning and they do not have massage chairs. People are not very friendly here and that's not conducive to feeling comfortable. And I have had at least four people tell me they are not comfortable there because they feel like they're constantly being judged so this cannot only be me that fails this way I can go elsewhere and feel totally accepted. No matter my size no matter my injuries and have every amenity that I want and then some . Yesterday when I tried to cancel well, I'm sure you can imagine I was met with more rudeness which only solidified my decision and I had gone back-and-forth with this for five months and there's no point in wasting my money for something I'm not using and I'm not happy with I would just say look around a little more might find something with instructors that actually care if you succeed. Here you're just another number and they don't really care and I'm not going to miss it. I've already lost a lot more weight going elsewhere and I'm a lot happier.

But they also do a fantastic job at hosting parties. They are a top notch facility and staff. For swim lessons, they offer 25 min classes at no more than a 4:1 student:teacher ratio. The kids progress along at their own pace, leveling-up when they're ready (could be after one week, one month, or longer). No matter what, the environment is kept fun yet challenging. And the instructors are all very welcoming, accommodating, and encouraging to the kids. For parties, they do an absolutely wonderful job. For a total of two hours (~2/3 in water, 1/3 out) they are as engaged as you want/need them to be or not. After getting all kids safely into the water they ran them through some fun games and then let them swim for a good amount of time with full-access to all toys/floats. After drying off, the kids ate (food needs to be brought in) and had cupcakes (provided). All decorations, setup/cleanup, and goodie bags were provided. It really was a delightful experience that was driven home by the fantastic staff. We couldn't be happier with the swim instruction provided and the recent party we had here at Goldfish Swim School.
