I was recommended to go here since I was looking for a good bagel in town and hadn't been impressed with other places. I think I found the winner! Wicked tasty, large and plenty of toppings and cream cheese options. They only seemed to have 4 types of bagels on the menu but that was fine by me since I don't stray from an everything bagel. My husband got a breakfast burrito and also had good things to say. We did pick up but it seemed pretty busy on a weekend morning. Seems like a crowd fav place. The only negatives is it felt a little pricey for what we ordered. Expected a larger breakfast burrito for almost $14.

BLACKBIRD Loaded Homefries w/ Bacon & Cheese, Maple Sausage Waffle Sandwich

Haven't been here in a few years, well worth the 20 minute drive. The waffle sandwich and loaded home fries were both creative and high quality dishes that we absolutely loved. Coffees were solid too. Very generous portions and they did not skimp on the toppings for the loaded home fries, often places will just throw a little bit of the topping on top and up-charge you, but we were thoroughly satisfied and there was bacon and cheese in almost every bite. The sauce on the side was great too. Definitely coming back to explore the menu more

The hubby and I took our dog out for a morning walk at NARA park and decided to check out this cafe for brunch. We went in early April and so we placed our order online for takeout as you couldn't dine in, which is totally fine. I ordered the Caprese Panini with the Patatas Bravas as a side. The panini was delish and the sauce used for the patatas was spicy and creamy, not too overly spicy which is good. Overall it was good and definitely come back to any of their locations to try out other items!

I love supporting local, especially when it is some of the best coffee and food around. Ordered their coconut latte and a northender sandwich for contactless pickup. The northender is unique to blackbird; egg, cheese, tomato, spinach and pesto on toasted rosemary garlic bread - deliciousness in every bite. Wide variety of hot and cold drinks - from some of the best coffee to an assortment of tea. My go to is the hot coconut latte which has the right hint of coconut and none of the sweetness. Their online ordering system is quick and painless. I was able to modify my latte and sandwich (add their chipotle sauce to everything) and use apple pay. Food is set outside for contactless pickup.

Disgusting griddle all over the burritos. Shame on this place for serving this as "food"

Would you eat this? Took one bite and got a mouth full of griddle, before unwrapping the whole burrito to see this disgusting mess. Wish someone would return emails, contact forms, or voice mails from this place so I could get a refund. Instead you get this review. Y'all should be ashamed of wrapping up food for customers that is this dirty. Enjoy. Update: the owner says we were able to connect. They have not made any attempt to reach out to me or return any of my inquiries via email, phone, or otherwise. Avoid this place. Dirty dirty dirty.

    Blackbird Acton 5/2019

*** 5/2019 *** I found Blackbird online when I was looking for a place in Acton that I could grab lunch that opened before 11am. Blackbird Cafe is located in Acton Woods Plaza, right on the corner of the intersection of Great Road and Main Street. As such, parking was no trouble. Two tables with seating were set outside, but inside it felt a step above the diner that I came to realize were my preconceived notions. Colorful walls contrasted well with the dark wood paneling. Dine in or out, everyone places their order at the counter. Having perused their menu online prior to my visit, I was a bit taken aback as I checked out the menu onsite. Where were the bowls I was planning on having? Turned out I was early by maybe a week/weekend - their menu was in the middle of a change over, and it had yet to be given the go here at their Acton location. But one of the folks who knows what's going on was kind and attempted to do his best to get me what I wanted. The results - a breakfast bowl of bbq pork, raw red onion, roasted red pepper, julienned carrots, pickled cucumber, cheese, toasted sesame seeds, cilantro on a bed of greens and an order of their quinoa kale hashbrowns, with a cup of sauce (presumably roasted sesame dressing, which I didn't sample), and two eggs on the side (cause they initially forgot to include it. Given that it was nearly a half hour before I got to dig into the bowl (due to the wait for the egg, on top of the travel time to my destination) I did not fault the lack of crisp in their hashbrowns. The meat was cubed, tender, and tasty. It felt to be a tasty and healthy meal as a whole. As I was standing around waiting for my order, I observed plates of food passing by me on their way to their seated customers, and they looked pretty good and of decent portions. Pastries displayed at the counter are made in house, such as scones, and cannolis. Three individual bathrooms are located down a hall to the right. The one I visited had a hook, which made me happy. https://www.myblackbirdcafe.com/pages/acton *** 9/2019 *** Called in an order for their Pesto Chicken Panini $9.25 when I was enroute to Acton. When I arrived, a pleasant young man offered to assist me at the counter, and found me my sack lunch. One thing I learned - a panini does not handle being taken to go too well. They wrapped it in aluminum foil and paper to keep the sandwich clean and warm. But it also got soggy as the moisture had no way to escape. Since one of my favorite things about paninis is the crisp warm bread, this did not do. But oh well, I understood it was my own fault for ordering this. The sandwich itself tasted pretty good, even when I ate it about an hour later.

I love everything I have eaten at this café. All of the menu items are really carefully assembled and incredibly tasty. I have a tendency to come here with a group of friends and it is a little cramped for space but a wonderful atmosphere to relax and catch up. The cold brew coffee is great, I have some extra pep in my step after! Vegetarian friendly!

Well...it's expensive...and not quite worth the dough you're paying for it. First off, when we got there, it was dead. I had anticipated a line...a large dining area...long buffet tables...but no, none of the above. They do have an omelet station which is probably the only highlight of the place. Don't misinterpret...the food isn't awful, but sheesh, for $20 a head, you want to see some kickass brunch with hungry diners clambering to get in...but no. Actually, this was two days before St Patrick's Day, so they did have corned beef and cabbage, (Boiled Dinner), on the buffet and that was actually pretty good too. An abnormally large table of desserts and a chocolate fountain, while sounding great in theory, in practice all of these desserts looked like plastic demos of what a good dessert should look like. I didn't go for dessert. Most of the other dishes *might* have been good had there been a quick turnover rate and fresh batches brought out. The lack of "mouth-traffic" left this brunch as a disappointment at best. Maybe if they charged about $10 a place...it might be a place worth stopping to get your *nom* on some average, but cheap, eats. $20...c'mon now. So two stars...b/c: Meh. I've experienced better.
