While I'm no means an expert on Scones (this is only my 2nd one), I found it delicious (the last one I had was good, but had crystallized sugar on the top, which made it taste much sweeter than this one). When I ordered a Quarter pound of Chocolate Chip Cookies, I didn't expect one cookie to weigh 1/4 lb.! Now, I am a connoisseur of Chocolate Chip cookies. As, it was, and still is, my favorite cookie. Now, this cookie was good (soft inside, with a bit of crispiness along the outside edge). But, it was rich, RICH, R-I-C-H!!! And, I I think, that the large chunks of Chocolate Chips, made it harder to melt quickly during both the cooking process, as well as reheating. Now, I don't know if it's my age, or if it was the cookie. But, I couldn't even eat the 1/4 piece that I heated up ;-o , as it was so rich! I'd like to try a few of their other items. And, find out what type of milkshakes they have. But, because I'm not a coffee drinker, I probably won't order from here too often. read more

I love this place! Order a Coco Mocha Nut coffee and two ice creams for the kiddos. Atmosphere was so inviting, quiet with an artistic flare. We were served very quickly with welcoming attitudes. Local favorite. Right I. The middle of downtown. Parking can be a challenge if you do not like to stroll along the sale streets. Walking in and getting that first whiff of cider puts an instant smile on my face. Seeing all the HUGE cookies right next to the order line more than tempts me, Soft and chewy oatmeal raisin had been my favorite. Selection of coffee and tea is large. You can't go wrong with whatever is your favorite. Take your time to look at the walls and the scrub building. So good to see use of the original architecture. read more

Words cannot express how much I adore this place. I went to university here years ago but every time I'm back in town I drop by. There was once a time I knew almost everyone, but these days I'm old yet the setiment remains. This cafe will forever be a cozy and welcoming place for all. They have excellent seats for parking to finish papers and chatting for friends- seats downstairs, near windows and couches. It is social but not loud. There are plenty of outlets. The coffee is amazing in store and at home. They had alternative milk long before it was trnedy. The baristas really care about quality and presentation. The also have unique and local options making it a true community spot. Their snacks are more than sufficient but dangerous. They try to support local. I love the breakfasts, cookies and milkshakes when I was in the mood for a splurge (everything here is well priced, though). Milledgeville doesn't scream hipster chic coffee shop but when I came in I felt right at home. They spoke my coffee love language and the space feels creative and free. Fun lil coffee shop in a fun lil college town. The best part of Blackbird Coffee is the staff. This team, in particular Cole and Nikki are friendly and hospitable! I am so impressed by their service level and truly loved getting to chat with them as an "out-of-towner." The coffee is good enough and the menu is pretty fun. You don't have a lot of coffee options out in Milledgeville its true, but this place is enough for me. Usually I go to Blackbird about once a week, and their coffees are very consistent each time. However, today my experience will be completely changing that. While the person taking our order was kind and had a smile on their face, the actual barista was extremely rude. I did not get her name, but she had short black hair and an awful attitude. As I am waiting on my coffee, I see that another customer had been waiting on her order for a few minutes. She went up the barista and simply asked when her food would be done. This customer was not disrespectful in any way. In return, this barista was extremely rude in her response, saying, "Yeah okay we're working on it so just wait," and visibly ROLLED her eyes and made a FACE like a 5 year old. There was no sense of customer service, and she spoke down on this customer, presumably because she was a college student. Completely unfair. This customer then returned to the barista after she received her coffee, asking for a straw. Before she could even ask, the barista said, "Okay what now ma'am?" I mean I can't even make this stuff up, and it's shocking that it happened at somewhere like Blackbird. I refuse to go somewhere that treats young college students that way. Everyone has bad days, but if you're going to bring that negativity and relentless attitude into work and be rude to customers then just don't show up. read more

Super cool spot off the beaten path, in downtown Milledgeville. A refreshing break from the road as we were en route from Va to Macon, GA. Would have never found and/or known about the place if it weren't on yelp. We only got coffee & iced tea on this visit, but the sandwich menu looks great, the choc chunk cookies are huge, they serve ice cream and beer on tap, roast their own beans. This place is awesome! I stayed in Milledgeville for a few weeks for a mindful vacation and this place really made my stay! All of the barista's were full of life and kindness and reminded me of myself when I used to be a barista back in '78 haha! I really made a connection with Jacob, a barista who works there, they really know how to make a good latte! Always a friendly smile and you can taste Jacobs great energy through the coffee! And the other baristas were all on par with this loveable environment. I would recommend their cold brew with a few shots of espresso and soy milk for the vegans like me who need some extra caffeine! I came here looking to get some work done since I had some time between events at the local college. I was pleasantly surprised by super kind baristas, a fast turn around time on my drink, and comfortable seating with tables and outlets to get a bunch of work done. The latte was pretty darn good. I was here mid-day on a Wednesday, and the place was already packed but there was still seating available. I liked the ambiance and parking in this area wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Amazing coffee house in a small town. This is what coffee houses are meant to be like. The coffee is phenomenal, the vibe is perfect and all of their employees are aces. I only went a couple of times and it felt like they all knew my order as soon as I stepped up.
