My mothers 70th birthday we made reservations here for 11:45am. They had called and confirmed the reservations, later I received a call from a woman who requested to moved our reservations to 12pm. I said that was perfectly fine but when we arrived we had to wait over an hour and we were not seated where we had made reservations and also due to it being NA hour over the scheduled time some of our party had to leave due to work. It was extremely disappointing and although the front cont to apologize nothing else was done, it was very disappointing. We did make the best out of it but again it was not as good as it should have been due to people having to leave but that is why we had the original reservations for 11:45 and agreed to move it to 12 but didn't think we'd have to wait till 1pm to get seated with two reservations booked and confirmed. Also the chicken wings were raw, we had two orders of it! They were a little behind staff as the French toast was the last to come out and was so soggy. The main dish that we shared was the Torta Al Pastor my highest compliments to the chef's of this place for making such wonderful and tasty dishes. The bartender also makes a really good old fashion With the works like cinnamon sticks the only thing it's missing is an orange peel but I believe that's just preference! Just left here after having dinner with my husband. Our first impression of the restaurant was poor. The hostess who greeted us was looking at a tablet and couldn't be bothered to look up at us when she asked how many were in our party. She seemed irritated with us being there. After we got to our table, a pretty blonde woman came out to take our order. She was nice and restored our faith in this restaurant. God! Every time I retry this place! The service is so schizophrenic. Some times it's amazing! Some times...just not there...literally. They cant seat you because the don't have enough servers, but the restaurant is empty.... So sad, the place could be amazing. My guess, poor management. We came here for brunch today to celebrate mine and my brother's 30th birthday. I booked a reservation via Yelp and Jill made sure she had a table ready for us. Little did we know, it would be a nightmare trying to get to the actual restaurant. Are weekends usually crazy busy at 11am in old Towne? It took each member of our party well over 20 minutes to find parking, and traffic in the area was barely at a crawl. This, of course, is not the restaurant's fault. One slight inconvenience, though, was that the men's room was out of order, so my husband wasn't able to use the restroom after our hour and half drive. Our server took good care of us, though, and we all enjoyed our meals. Those of us who ordered the Blackbird Bennie were slightly disappointed in the hollandaise consistency and overall size of the dish, but the flavors were there. I stole a French fry or 2 from my sister, and those were delicious and well seasoned. The Bottomless Mimosa deal was wonderful; $15 compared to their $12 cocktails! We really enjoyed the watermelon mimosa, and even had fun mixing the juices together for our own fruity concoction. If ever back in the area, we will come back again. If you are in Oldtown Temecula you have to try Blackbird Tavern. It is a darling, rustic tavern with so much character! They also offer live music...call for dates and times. The menu seems to always be evolving, but we are always pleasantly surprised by the selections! On or last visit about a week ago, my husband and I were seated in the bar area and were almost immediately approached and offered drinks. I ordered and IPA and my husband a Lemonade. Both were delicious. After scouring the options we ordered lunch. I had the Autumn Flatbread...it was amazing!! There were plenty of toppings and the Balsamic Glaze was to die for!! My husband ordered the Breakfast Stack. He devoured every single bite and was definitely full when he was finished.
