We recently purchased a new home and thank goodness for Yelp and its Project section, it helped me get a bunch of quotes from a few vendors at the click of a button so I didn't have to waste my time and energy individually looking for companies. We decided we wanted solar screens for the outside of the house and I had a few people come out to give us estimates bcs all the windows are different sizes and they needed to measure and then be able to give me an estimate. Blackjack Blinds arrived on time, chatted with my boyfriend about what he wanted, my boyfriend pointed out that the first house on our block has what he wanted so the guy went outside and down the block to make sure he knew what my boyfriend wanted. Then he went to take the measurements, asked us what color we wanted and told us it'll take about 6-8 weeks bcs the screens are all custom made. We met up with some other companies and decided to go with Blackjack. They came back out to make sure the measurements were accurate and then we gave a 50% deposit for them to start the order. Well, we didn't have to wait 6-8 weeks, they called us at around 3 weeks! So we were super happy! Scheduled an install time, they called 20 mins before arriving and everything was installed within 2 hours. We decided to go with them because their salesperson wasn't pushy, listened to what we wanted, and also gave us a slight military discount, which is always appreciated. We purchased the 'Smart Drape' from Blackjack Blinds. The Smart Drape has both sheer veins and opaque solid fabric veins. When "open" it is possible to see through the sheer veins. However, we understood that by twisting the wand we would be able to go from sheer to solid fabric closing the veins completely. This is not the case. When the wand is fully twisted to close the drapes there remains a half inch to one inch gap between the solid fabric veins allowing us to see out and others to see in. The veins do not lay flat. The sales team ought to let prospective customers know that, while these drapes are lovely, they do not provide privacy. When I contacted them to see if the shades might be adjusted, they responded three times with, "just turn the wand". Obvious and a bit insulting. When one of the team did come to the house, he said he would contact the manufacturer and get back to us. We never heard from him again. Our experience with the Smart Drape is unfortunate, because our previous experience with Blackjack Blinds patio shades was positive - 5 star. read more

We ordered 4 solar screens for the back of our house. We asked for a quote and anticipated it later in the day. To our surprise, we heard from them within minutes and set up an appointment for the next day. Their quote was very reasonable and we gave them a deposit. They told us exactly when the screen would be done and when did we want them to be installed. They were right on time for installation day and went to work. This installation was really difficult due to the fact we had a large patio cover. It was no problem for them as they did an excellent job of installing the screens and making sure not to damage the fragile patio. James was our installer and was very nice and completely professional. All in all this is a very professional and reasonably priced company and would recommend them to everyone. read more

I had Yelp scope out a blind replacement project for me. There were [3] different vendors, including Blackjack Blinds. I had all [3] vendors come over to price-quote my house. Geoff came over on the scheduled day and time specified. He wasn't late and arrived on-time. When he came in. I had mentioned how I had a lot of broken blinds, or just missing blinds from when I had bought the house. He had drafted up [3] different quotes 1) Faux Blind [nice trimming] with just the blind replacement windows 2) Faux blind [nice trimming] with replacement of all blinds in the house 3) Shutters for the entire house He had mentioned that upon placing the order, it would take [2] weeks to build and ship. The first initial payment of 50% would need to be placed and then completed after the build-out. After reviewing his price with other vendors for the same specifications and build, he came in at around 30-40% lower than the rest of the vendors. Blackjack blinds has great pricing and I would highly recommend their company if you're looking for Faux Blinds in your house. After placing the down payment, I only had one additional follow-up e-mail with Geoff which he promptly replied to, in regards to deploying the window blinds. The gentleman that came out to the house had put in all of the blinds within 2 hours upon arrival. There was only one faulty blind that wasn't correctly ordered. He had to take appropriate measurements of the window and re-order it again. There was also [2] missing windows which wasn't included in the original scope of work. Geoff was able to add that in easily to the build-out. Another [2] weeks had passed. The order was put in, built-out, and the same gentleman whom had came out to the house the first time to deploy the blinds, was at the house again. It took him a little under a hour to complete the rest of the 3 blind install. It was time to retire our aging 20-year old venetian blinds in the house. After a lengthy search and interviews with several window covering/shutter companies in Las Vegas, we signed with Blackjack Blinds to supply and install plantation shutters throughout the house. When we first met with the company owner, Geoff, we liked his low pressure presentation, his detailed answers to our questions, the quality of his products, and Yelp reviews. His price was neither the highest nor lowest quote we received. It did take many weeks for our shutters to be manufactured by the factory, but that was something Geoff disclosed to us early on. On installation day, the two installers Joey and Dan arrived. They were polite, professional, and perfectionists. Everything was beautifully installed, aligned precisely, and operated smoothly. Not even a smudge was allowed to remain anywhere on the shutters. They wore shoe covers to keep our carpet clean, neatly packaged the old blinds for disposal, and cleaned everything up before they left. The shutters have transformed the appearance of our house. I used blackjack blinds for a blackout system install. Geoff came over and gave me a quote north of 10k. Normal and expected for a system like this. He told me it would be a one day install and that it should happen in about 3-4 weeks. It ended up taking almost twice the time and 3 full very invasive install days. In my opinion Geoff failed to anticipate multiple details which caused these delays. He had originally told me he would be there himself to oversee install. He did not show up day 1. Instead two idiots showed up who flummoxed about for 4 hours in a single room without getting anything done. They obviously were not trained on this equipment. Day 2 Geoff showed up end of day and did his best to address the issues. Day 3 (2 weeks later) Geoff and another guy showed up and finally did the work correctly. The blinds are supposed to be able to move up and down via an app. They don't consistently. He said the system would be 100% blackout. It isn't. There are light leaks. Some of the windows in my daughters room don't move. Not what you expect when you give someone over $11,000. I'm not the type to write reviews but I'm disappointed I went with Geoff and blackjack blinds. At no point did Geoff apologize during this process. Only later when I finally lost my cool and got angry with him as he demanded payment did he finally offer me a weak apology. Never again with these guys. Avoid if you're looking for a blackout system. They suck at it. read more

We are SO HAPPY that we went through this company for our shades. It's so hard to find reliable resources for home projects so I came across this company through Yelp and we are so pleased with the results. When Geoff came to the house to do the measurements, we went through 3 huge books of fabrics and he was very transparent about the differences in light filtering and cost per type of shade. We were contemplating between shades and shutters and decided to do shades to go for a more modern look. We got two quotes from other companies before this one, and both of them flip-flopped on their pricing and "misquoted" us, and also didn't have more than 3 or 4 shade color options each, whereas this company literally had about one hundred to choose from. The install was about an hour and a half and these custom shades only took 2 weeks to be made and arrive. Their pricing is very fair and I wouldn't argue even if they charged a couple hundred more for this job because they are that beautiful and the quality of fabric and work is amazing.
