I contacted this company in September 2025 for shutter pricing, but was introduced to Zebra Blinds, which I ordered instead. I put down a deposit of slightly less than half and planned to install within a few weeks. Unfortunately, due to other renovations at my home, the installation was pushed back until mid December. I was initially concerned when Peter asked for the remaining balance of the job despite the fact that the installation was not complete. I hadn't even received the blinds yet the first time he asked for the full balance. I was asked for the full balance before the job was completed twice more. When I agreed to pay a portion of the remaining balance by Zelle despite the fact that he hadn't installed the blinds, he asked me to pay to the name of a woman I'd never heard of and who was not associated with his business. Fortunately for me, my bank wouldn't let the Zelle payment go through. I informed Peter that I would be paying with a credit card, and he twice asked for my credit card number over the phone so he could write it down. I knew this is an unsafe practice, so I told him I wouldn't give him my credit card number over the phone and asked if there was a secure portal where I could pay, but he said he didn't have one. I asked him to send an invoice, but he did not. I even asked him his last name three times, but he did not tell me. I was concerned about being pressed to make full payment before the job was completed. When I went to the property inspect the blinds, I discovered that he had removed my old blinds and damaged the window framing. I had visited the property the day before he began work to inspect the completed work of another contractor, and there was no damage to the window framing. He denied causing the damage, but demanded full payment before completing the job. I told him I was uncomfortable with paying him before he finished the job. I was very disturbed because he did not ask me to make payment to his business name, he asked for cash (Zelle), and he did not even give me his last name. I canceled the job and made arrangements to return the blinds to him. He was extremely rude and threatened me. I did not request a refund because I simply did not want to interact with him anymore. I told him he should be ashamed of himself for taking advantage of seniors. read more

Incredibly unhappy with this company. Coercive and misleading. We felt uncomfortable with continuing so we called to ask about canceling and the man immediately responded with threats about small claims court! They never informed us they required payment in cash only. When my husband informed them he only had a credit card available the installer simply stated he would not leave our premises until we had cash in hand. My husband said he would have to go to the bank to get that amount and the installer literally followed my husband to the bank making him feel very unsafe. Will be reporting this company and their unfair coercion and payment practices to the better business bureau. read more

Blinds/shades.. what a headache when you get a house! Peter was one of the many businesses that had stopped by and gave us a quote on rollers & blinds. We already had in mind what we wanted, but Peter was very thorough and went through all the different options we had to fit our budget. Not going to sugar coat it but no matter what you get, professional installation is costly! But, you get the ease of knowing it's done right, done by a person that has years of experience. I'd have to say, Sunout was not the most expensive quote I've received but it was also not the cheapest. Peter's experience and his professionalism was what ultimately made me use Sunout. I'm not sure why this may not be standard but I've received a more costly quote for the same products and that company did not include installing temporary shades, which is ridiculous because custom shades/rollers takes at least 2 weeks to be shipped out/installed/etc & I think it should be standard to get that done for your customer that is spending thousands of dollars. Nonetheless, I'd use Sunout again for whatever shades/blinds I will need in the future and for sure a 100% recommendation to my friends & families. read more

So I will admit, the price was on the lower end...plus. However the installation was poorly done. I had the blinds installed late August 2022. When I officially moved into my house in October 2022 I noticed the blinds were not installed correctly and/or inconsistent. I reached out to Peter about my concerns, and he said he "would see what he could do, and call me back" I NEVER received a call back. I called in December, left an online inquiry in January and another in a March. I'm growing more frustrated with looking at crookedly installed blinds that I paid over $4500 here. I do not recommend! All three windows are same size. Day of original install, one of the blinds was missing, so they installed the single window (one with the long cord). Then Peter claimed he came up with the idea to cut the cord for the other blinds because those sit side by side - so those windows still have crooked blinds, but at least the cord is attached to the wall. There is now one window that has an unnecessary long cord in my house (video footage). Where is the attention to detail? Common sense for Peter should've been to reorder and install the other blind to match. Background...I didn't move into my house until October 2022 and I called Peter the moment I notice. Prior to then, my husband was working away (active duty military) so the issues went unnoticed at first. I was hoping to have heard back by SunOut by now...but nothing. read more

If they weren't recommended I would have not gone through with it . They are very eager to get that deposit, even if you don't have a scheduled date for the techs to come , even if you already have a date set to give the deposit they'll still bother you to give it to them sooner. They will constantly say "whatever works for you" throughout the process however, will make you feel like an inconvenience if it wasn't according to what they wanted. They're terrible with communication via texting / phone, but in person they're nice so do what you will with that. Also be warned, if paying with cash, even if you ask , they will not give you a formal receipt. My sister said they give 10 year warranty guarantee however they did not mention that to me so hopefully that stands. They also didn't honor any referral coupons I gave them because "we are already giving you a low price". I don't think it was worth 700+ dollars (three windows and one patio door), I don't feel that 90% of sunlight is blocked out. I needed these to sleep better during the day due to being grave yard and yet still pretty bright in here. My biggest issue is the patio door. My original was a brand new sliding door with 0 issues. They take it , install their product and give me one that all of the sudden doesn't fit . The door used to be smooth and closed great and now it's too small for the frame so I have to jiggle it shut. It's one of my biggest peeves at the moment but I guess I'll learn to live with it . My sister had a similar issue. So just be aware the process of installing the product to sliding doors may change the size. Also the sliding door constantly has white "strings" appearing (see photo), hoping it's not gonna one day just unravel completely . Overall the product is very meh, not worth the price and working with them wasn't the greatest experience. read more
