This is one of the most beautiful book stores I've ever been able to experience, because it's all for US! Black is Lit & the BlackLit Bookstore has so many wonderful books for us by us! The atmosphere and energy is so electic! To walk into a space that celebrates our heritage and culture is something I thought I would never see in my lifetime! I'm super humbled to be stop in today! I pray that our entire community does too! From books, to merchandise of clothes, bags, snacks, and more...everyone will love it! There's a kids section as well! So bring the family out! This is a gem!!

Nothing short of amazing and PURE. Screams black excellence and soul. Came out of town on my best friends recommendation here and we absolutely loved it. There was a private event occurring around the same time we walked in, even had my friend answering some of the questions lol. We both bought books, a hoodie and a crew neck. She even made one right up front since there wasn't one available on the floor! Payment options are super up to date & all in all a wonderful place to come check out.

This location was truly worth the trip. Not only did the owner Nia-Tayler and son Tanj make you feel welcome. The store gave everything to feel right at home. It's truly Blacklit! I ran into some great shoppers, and it felt like a reunion , as if this location brought us all together in that present moment. If you are on the area of Dallas, Farmer Branch go support hours are 11am - 6pm, Monday-Saturday, address 4050 MCEwen Road Dallas, Texas 75244. You will love this store

Thank gosh another B&N is still open!…read more I was soo looking forward to heading to the magazine rack for updated items. I was not disappointed. They were nice and organized! (I bought a True West magazine) Lots of Books, videos, DVD's, and other great stuff!! Ravenburgers Puzzles and music are still options for purchase too. Not necessarily in that order. I love any book store! This one has a nice discounted section. I think that's where I end up 99% of the time. I almost always find one affordable book I can't live without. The medical section is pretty pitiful. Books in this section are dated and honestly pretty crappy. I have noticed that the majority of the people sitting around reading magazines are over the age of 50. In years previous it was 30 something folks. I guess the demographics of readers hasn't changed, I aged with them! Lol Reading books feels like it's becoming a thing of the past. Many people today appear to read books either on their kindles or not at all. I've always been a reader and love turning the pages of a book. A Starbucks is located within B&N. Nice touch! They do close down an 1 hour before the book store I'm guessing for clean up. October 2025

This Barnes & Noble store has been in Addison for many years. My grandsons were young when I took…read morethem here, and it's still a charming book store! I mentioned in one of my reviews how the Denton B&N store has fantastic displays, well, so does this store. I am coming to realize that I prefer the older stores, as they really create the kind of child wonder I want my grandchildren to experience. And that child wonder is truly the design and layout of the store. I needed some assistance and the staff working there was truly kind to me and patient, as I had many questions. I will skip past three B&N stores in my area to go to this store going forward.

Deep Vellum Books is a gem. Let me tell you why…read more Deep Vellum Books is the storefront and headquarters of Deep Vellum Books & Publishing, a nonprofit literary arts organization and the largest publisher of literature in translation in the US (I did not know that!!!!). They stock their own titles as well as a curated selection of literary fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. I visited with my family (dad, stepmom, adult siblings, husband) last weekend, and we spent way more time in the store than we expected to given the store's size. It's not large, but the store is packed with interesting and unusual and harder to find titles. I started to read a book's dusk jacket flap blurb, which led to a conversation about the book with the staff in the shop. (I bought it, I already read it, I loved it.) It's that kind of store - I was walking around, reading blurbs out loud to my family - finding book after book that piqued my interest. I left with a book, my siblings with two or three each, and my dad with at least one. There were six of us, and we bought maybe 8 books. The staff working the day we were visited were incredible, chatting with us about books, telling us about Deep Vellum, and answering our questions about their events. It's clear that people who work at Deep Vellum love books and that always makes shopping at a bookstore more wonderful. (I'm not sure I would have taken home the book I did if I hadn't chatted with a store employee for a few minutes about it - it's a little out of my wheelhouse - but I loved and I'm so glad I picked it up). The store hosts book clubs which sound amazing. I mean how many bookstores offer a "Homer Out Loud" book club that meets to read Homer's epics out loud once a week!? Or has a book club called "Underdogs in Space" that meets once a month to talk about underread sci-fi books?! If you're in Deep Ellum and you love to read anything at all - make your way over to Deep Vellum. It's a great organization and a great bookstore. I couldn't love it more.

Came here for the first last last week 15 minutes before closing (I know!!) but they were so kind…read moreand helpful. The ppl who worked there are incredibly knowledgeable and can offer wonderful suggestions if you tell them the genres/writers you like, no matter how niche! They had a lovely array of diverse books--they featured books, authors, languages, genres, and themes from all backgrounds. There were lots of translated books and books they published there. There's also a book club they host if you're interested in joining--they read underrated sci-fi works and discuss them on site. 12/10 would come back again :)
