I flew into Dallas Fort Worth specifically for a three-day trip focused on finding the perfect mother-of-the-bride dress, and Terry Costa was my first stop. During my visit, I found a dress and purchased it for $811. I made it clear to the attendant assisting me that my party and I had additional appointments at other stores and planned to continue shopping. At no point during the transaction was I informed that all in-store sales are final. This crucial information was not verbally communicated, nor was it clearly presented prior to payment. Less than 24 hours later, I returned to the store in hopes of returning the dress after finding another option that better suited my needs. It was only then I was told that all in-store sales are final, and no returns or exchanges are accepted. As a customer making a significant purchase--particularly one for a once-in-a-lifetime event--I find it extremely disconcerting that your staff failed to communicate this policy upfront. Had I been informed before completing my purchase, I would have made a more careful and informed decision. What adds to the frustration is learning that if I had purchased the same dress online, I would have been eligible for an exchange or refund, which only adds to the inconsistency and confusion. May 13th.Tuesday I bought the white dress for $238 and I saw a yellow dot right under it, the staff took it to clean it up for me. Chest cutting problem .I went to ask for the same dress the next day. But went to the store only to find a large stain under the clothes, it should be drinks spilled on top. The truth is that someone inside the store wore the dress, went to a party, spilled food and drink on the dress, and then took it back to the store to sell! This is disgusting! I came into the business with my two younger sisters in order to find a prom dress. we were a group of 5 including my other sister and my mother with excitement to spend this exciting day together as we all live far apart. upon entering, we were never greeted. we walked around on our own attempting to find the plus size dresses. we decided that because my sister could only try on 5 dresses, we would all pick a dress we liked for her to try on thinking this would be fun. the plus size section that is more up to date fashion is in the back (as usual). as i was looking, i was being bumped into with the ropes they use to create a line. i turned around and looked at the gentlemen who was creating the line. he asked me to move as he was trying to create a line. i began to move over and asked how i could continue looking through the selection if the rope was blocking a large part of the selection and i was ignored. after this, a woman approached my mom and informed her we could not have drinks in the establishment. i gathered the three drinks and walked towards the front to place them because we had no issue following the rule. i stopped a woman and asked where I could place our drinks. the woman began walking away so i followed her and she took me to the front by the door and stated we could enjoy our drinks here. i asked if we were able to leave the drinks here or if we had to finish them to which she responded "we have a sign, did you not see it?" i responded i did not and was only asking for clarification. the woman told me to read the sign up front and walked away. mind you the sign it taped to the side of the counter, facing down, and on a small piece of paper i believe most people would miss. as my sister was trying on dresses, the sales people were often extremely pushy and made the experience feel very ridged taking away all the fun. when we would attempt to assist my sister in zipping up her dress, we would often be pushed aside so a worker could do it instead. i had to explain to the worker this made my sister uncomfortable and she did not want a worker picking out dresses for her or zipping up the dress. our boundaries were frequently ignored and overall seemed an inconvenience unless you were trying on a dress you loved and they saw dollar signs. the worker also informed my sister she had to show her every dress which was odd to me. this was the third store we tried and hands down the worst one. we were having so much fun on our girl day until we entered this store and unfortunately was ruined by the staff's attitude and very rigid rules. my sister did find a dress she loved and although excited, i was disappointed to provide this establishment any money. i recommend whatchamacallit over this store any day. read more

However, an intern helped me find my dress and when it came to sizing she said I should order a size 2 but I believed I should order a size 0 because that's what I always wear. I am SO glad I didn't order a 2 because even the 0 was WAY too big and I had to spend $1,000s in alterations to make it fit. Another critique is that there was not a lot of communication as to when my dress would arrive, and I really needed more updates since I don't live in the area and my wedding wasn't in TX. Last Sunday we went to Terry Costa prom dress shopping, and will also be the last time I ever step foot in that store again. As my oldest and her cousin sat in the dressing room I was looking for dresses with my cousin only to return to the dressing room to find out the sales associate had body shamed my daughter. She was removing dresses from her dressing room telling her they won't fit her. As my daughter tried to explain to her that she can wear multiple different sizes depending on how the dress is made. The sales associate then cut her off mid sentence and said let me finish talking. Needless to say after attempting one more dress we left. I have contacted corporate but have yet to get any response back. The fact that an adult thought it would be ok to talk to a teenager the way she did is unacceptable. read more

We headed to the fitting room attendants, but they responded with attitude, sighing and rolling their eyes right in front of us. Found a Beautiful Prom dress but didn't have the greatest experience. When we first walked in nobody greeted us it took about 5 minutes before a gentleman came to greet us and ask if we've been helped. It was my daughter and I first time there this was our second location looking for a prom dress. Some of the young staff that was putting the dresses back would push to get by and not say excuse me they looked like they were in a bad mood, when finally one of the girls excused herself to get by, I told her thank you for that it seems nobody else cared to push us off the way to get by and not say anything. While my daughter tried on the dresses we did have help and the girl and lady that were assisting were professional and nice. When we got to the cashier it was around their closing time, I had submitted payment but forgot to mention the promo for my daughter to get the full experience with the gifted items and also give credit to the friend that referred us. When we mentioned it to get applied the cashier stated "well I would have to cancel and redo it all over so your fine plus there is no discount anyway," I asked if we can still do it but then she said again "It would be difficult to redo and the payment had already processed." I was disappointed that this wasn't handled different, I'm sure The cashier could have done more to put a smile on my daughters face, My daughter was ready to go and was also disappointed as she seen on your site all the other girls in pictures with the gifted items.
