Ok so I went back again on Thursday. This is place is one of the spots that allows me to brag about Baltimore being a great food city. Brisket Nachos- delicious and fresh made chips Short Rib Torta!!!!- this is probably the best Torta I've ever eaten from the fresh vegetables to the Amazing Short Rib. Totally worth it Great service, chill ambiance. Amazing kitchen smells.

    Duck scrapple biscuit sandwich (meh)

I've now tried Blacksauce Kitchen twice: once at their storefront on a Thursday and once at the Saturday farmers market. The tamarind duck sandwich with crispy leeks on the Thursday was phenomenal, service was fast and warm, and the portion size was generous. The farmers market was a very different experience: super slow service for a mediocre-at-best duck scrapple biscuit sandwich (just a bit bland, sadly). And maybe I got a bad biscuit, I don't know, but that part didn't really impress me much either, which is sad because I heard such good things and waited 40 minutes. I will definitely return for the Thursday menu soon, but I'll give the farmer's market stall a pass from now on. Still, I love the rotating menu, friendly service, and creative dishes at the storefront! Definitely recommend checking out this spot if one of the weekly dishes catches your eye.

Little bit of everything. Can't decided which I like more. Mushroom tart, fish, lamb neck, smash burger, green beans, the big guy is a rib.

BBQ Lamb w. Free range egg on cheddar thyme biscuit

Whoa my breakfast biscuit was phenomenal! I was in town visiting my foodie bestie (@amandatheepicure) for her birthday. She has a collection of places she wants to visit and this was on it. Blacksauce Kitchen is a catering spot that is only open on Thursdays and Saturdays for normal takeout. The menu is constantly changing. On this visit, during the first weekend of November, we enjoyed an incredible barbeque lamb with free range egg on cheddar thyme biscuit. The lamb melted in our mouths and it was an explosion of delicious flavors. The cheddar thyme biscuit complimented the whole dish and really brought it together. It was so yummy. It was also a huge serving that had me saving half of the sandwich for later. Our other friend ordered a normal biscuit and their potato hash which was also yummy and unique with bits of apple in it. I'd highly recommend checking this spot out.

i continue to check out their food at the farmers market, but i have graduated to visiting their brick and mortar location too. they have a different menu every week, so check their instagram on wednesday afternoons if you want to know what they're dishing up for the week. i am still obsessed with their biscuit sandwiches, but i have also tried some of their dinner options on thursdays as well. their brick and mortar location has limited seating, but on a cold day there has always been a spot for me to chill and eat my food as most people take it to go. the most recent thing i got was the fried chicken box, which comes with a biscuit, mac and cheese, and your choice of dark or white meat with a hot honey drizzle. they do an excellent fried chicken here, both dark and white. it's perfectly crispy and compliments the biscuit so well. i don't like cheese so i can't comment on the mac, but my friend says their mac and cheese is next-level. as always, the service is amazing and the people working the counter are so pleasant and i look forward to chit-chatting with them when i come in. i have made it part of my wednesday routine to check their menu, and i will continue to patronize them until i am physically incapable of it.

Another incredible sandwich from Blacksauce Kitchen. We ordered the Fried pork loin with rhubarb jam from the store and it was freshly prepared and was extremely delicious. The sweetness and acidity of the jam did a great job balancing out the fatty pork loin. A perfect weekend spot to hit!

Only open for in-person biscuits and such on Thursday and Saturday mornings; otherwise, order ahead online or catch them at farmers markets (e.g., 32nd St Waverly). The barbecue lamb and egg on large buttermilk biscuit was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Note: Selections change often. Other than one booth and stools along a wall table, there are a few benches outside. As it was drizzling, I chose a stool--and then it got busy! There is also wall where local works are showcased. I've already been back or ordered online! Further note: Parking is metered on this busy street, but then you have to drive down oneway streets to park on 2-hr. side streets--which I do! Watch out for traffic! Although Blacksauce Kitchen is in Remington, there is only a Get Shredded Vintage and 29th Street Tavern along this somewhat barren, small industrial buildings area. However, a short stroll up the street has more places to see.

I finally stopped in after getting a recommendation to come here years ago. I'm so glad I did because the food SLAPPED. I got a skirt steak sandwich, mezcal glazed ribs, and wood roasted broccoli as well as a ginger sticky bun. What a meal! I liked the flavors of the skirt steak the best. It is a bit spendy but can't put a price on good food. The best thing is their menu changes every week. It's also a family run business and black owned. I can't wait to come back and try more food!

The best biscuits ever! We had them at the farmers market and they were still amazing. The chicken biscuits were to die for! We went again the next week and the flavors had changed, still good but less flavorful. I will be coming again

The food was so bad...mushy rice and peas, the callaloo was baby food, and the baked chicken was well coated in the store bought sauce. I also sat and waited an extra 30 minutes for beef patties which never came. Adding insult to flavor injury, this place is a hip hop nightclub! Sat there for over an hour and nothing came on but old school hip hop. I asked for my money back and the lady said "I don't know about island food but that's what trini greens look like." I hate bashing minority businesses but this place is disrespectful. Hopefully they improve drastically in order to survive but, for right now, never come here for food. Sorry...and not sorry.

The restaurant is easy to find, with close-by paid parking. I tried the sample plate with curry chicken, white rice, and cabbage. The curry chicken was flavorful and tender -- truly delicious! The cabbage was seasoned just right, adding that authentic Caribbean touch. I was a little surprised to receive white rice instead of rice & peas (which I usually expect with Caribbean dishes), so that was a little disappointing. I was expecting $18 value platter but received a ($15) value platter. It appears it may come alive at night -- with a DJ, happy hour specials, and a lounge vibe. Overall, Caribbean Dynasty offers great flavors, friendly service for a grab a go lunch order .

The only negative about the food was that it came out at three very different times without napkins nor silverware. That said, our server, Maya, was super sweet even though it seemed she was stretched thin. We didn't see many people serving tables but at some point, I think a/the chef came out to serve us as well. Just like the hostesses, our server, and the other server, he was very nice. The atmosphere was very nice, albeit loud enough that we had to read lips to talk to my handsome date. The line was out the door--even with a reservation, we had to stand outside in the cold. And I'm anemic, so standing out there shivering felt like punishment (at this point, I'm basically an ice sculpture by the door). When we finally got seated, they put us at the table right by the entrance--every time that door opened, a breeze hit me like a slap from Elsa herself . The bar was packed too, which sucked because I would've loved to sit there with my partner and vibe. It was clear they were super short-staffed. No waitress ever came to our table--we had to scan a QR code, order through our phones, and even pay before the food came. Felt more like a fast-casual spot than a nice dinner date. Our drinks took forever and when they finally arrived, they were watered down and weak. By that point we were ready to go, but since we already paid through the mobile menu, we were stuck. It took about 45 more minutes to get our food. By now I couldn't even feel my fingers or toes. But when that food hit the table? Whewww... it slapped ‍ Everything we ordered was chef's kiss. My partner and I both agreed the food was the one saving grace of the entire experience. It was flavorful, fresh, and worth the hype. Just wish we could've actually enjoyed it. We spent a good amount of money and left feeling like we would've been better off just DoorDashing it and eating at home with some Netflix. My partner, who never complains, was genuinely upset about the lack of a server. And I get it--dining out is supposed to be an experience, not just a transaction. So overall... this is a mixed review. Food? 5 stars, no doubt. Experience? 1 star, and I'm being generous. I'll probably try them again on a super slow day (whenever that is), but as far as this visit goes, I'm leaving a 3-star rating--and that's only because the food was so good.
