Best rotisserie wings ever, staff was very polite. Short wait time, no frills place with booths to sit in.

Wednesday 3/26/25 This spot came across my Instagram feed on a post that was shouting out black owned businesses in Baltimore and one of the spots highlighted was a black owned soul food spot. I made a family order through DoorDash, and I specifically got the half chicken dinner with Mac & yams $25. I was able to try some of the other items that the family got. The service was kind and easy, and we were given an extra cornbread muffin per meal, which was much appreciated. - The half rotisserie chicken has a steep price tag of $25 that isn't worth it, and the chicken itself left me with mixed feelings. The skin has flavor, but the chicken itself is dry and weak. - The Mac n cheese is the definition of bland. It didn't have any flavor or taste. There's no seasoning, only noodles and cheese. - The yams were standard as they're just crushed up sweet potato's which is very hard to mess up. - The cornbread muffin was the best item on the menu. The muffins were sweet and moist. - My mom got the rib dinner plate, and I was able to sample it. The rib was alright, but wasn't tender and didn't do much for me. - My mom got the whiting dinner plate that I was also able to sample. They gave us an extra piece of fish, which was nice, but the fish itself was dry and needed a sauce to elevate the experience. My family tried their meals and walked away with the opinion that the majority of the food was bland and I have to agree with them. A black owned soul food spot, yet there's no seasoning or flavor.

12:15 on a Wednesday -Ambience-clean , cozy eatery with nice seating areas. 2 booths and a high bar area with 3 stools. I was helped by a really pleasant and funny man at counter and a really nice woman checked me out. They were organized and pleasant and very friendly. This with a long line and while simultaneously preparing pre ordered plates. The food : I am typing this with my eyes closed , lips greasy and shoes off --so good I wanted to smack somebody. I don't know where they are hiding the church lady with the big arms in the back but somebody threw down on this food. I don't get to use this word often but this was a succulent meal. Chicken -perfection. Sweet potatoes-So perfect I shed a tear. Mac and cheese It's so hard to find good baked Mac and cheese with the crispy crust and edges but that's what I got. Even the potato salad was good!!! The only tiny missing piece is that I would add a bit of spice to Mac and cheese and potato salad but that's not even necessary depending on your taste. Everything was delectable for a carry out. My entire party was shocked. No one was even talking because we were stuffing our faces. We will def be back.

This is my first stop in Baltimore..... I DO NOT WANT TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! Customer service was amazing. Patient, courteous, kind and family oriented!! They made me feel like family. They are a team and you can feel the love in what they do. Now to the food. The chicken was moist, hot, seasoned and the chicken skin was EVERYTHING!!!! the greens where some a space kitchen for sure ( meaning they were the best I've ever had) and the cabbage was 10/10. She then brought out some candied yams 20/10 I will be back before we leave BMore!! 10/10 MUST TRY AGAIN

    Nicks nutmeg disaster

still family owned but the family don't seem happy to work there. Yams used to be perfectly seasoned and cut cubes in 2010 and the the chicken used to be ROTISSERIE Cooked in a spinning thingy. Now yall selling baked chicken which taste totally different. No smoked flavor!!!! yanked the price up. and y'all not even smoking the meat! i came hungry sat down at the nice tables and taste my food, left the establishmen mad and hungry looking for something to get the overwhelming taste of NUTMEG out my mouth. Disappointed! whoever Romano is should never have touched the business, should've left it like it was 2010 was a year man.

Customer service: 15/10 Mac & cheese: 9/10 Chicken: 15/10- the seasoning and ability to keep the chicken moist and crispy is unmatched. Greens: 8/10 Sweet potatoes: 9/10 Potato salad: 12/10 Would I sneak into their house on thanksgiving and pretend I'm a long lost cousin???? Absolutely. Their side items are solid. I judge and soul food place by the quality of mac&cheese and they did not disappoint. I will absolutely return....trying to re-big by back.

Nick's Rotisserie is a local family-owned restaurant in the Washington Village neighborhood. Nick's offers great-tasting Southern-style chicken meals. The rotisserie chicken is very flavorful, moist, seasoned to perfection, and fresh. You can get the chicken as 1/4 leg or breast and 4-wing dinners. The dinners include two sides and a muffin. The sweet potatoes and macaroni and cheese are really good. I have tried the fried chicken box dinner but I don't recommend it, not as good compared to the rotisserie chicken. I would highly suggest, you order ahead over the phone to avoid the line and the chicken running out. The staff is courteous and friendly as well.

First off just to give you some perspective, I come from a family that can cook, especially soul food/southern dishes. I can cook, my mom, dad, sister, grandma, grandfathers, etc. I stumbled across Nick's when I was looking for a nail salon. I ordered seafood mac and cheese, collard greens, cabbage and corn bread. Its not alot of food. I eat small portions so I can eat this in 2 sittings. I'm giving this food FIVE STARS. It is hitting, as the young people say. OMG It tastes like my great grandma's food and she was the best cook/baker I ever had in my life. The corn bread tastes like mine. Every bite of the seafood mac and cheese had crabmeat in it. I didn't have to add a lick.of salt, pepper, hot sauce, NADA. The homemade lemonade tastes like what my great grandma made in a large tub. The only negatives are they do not offer a veggie only plate and the cost. I had to buy everything a la carte. The seafood mac and cheese by itself is $20. Everything came out to be a little over $30. I had sticker shock but I would buy it again because the food is excellent and I'm a foodie. Service was pleasant, friendly and quick.

Leg Dinner with Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens .... Loved it!

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place. I was out heading to lunch, sitting at a stop light, looked to my right and saw a sign for Nick's Rotisserie. I quickly pulled over to check them out. It's a spacious place, I was the only person in the restaurant at noon. I ordered the 1 piece leg meal with Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens. All meals come with 2 sides and a corn muffin. The wings looked scrumptious, I'm not sure why I chose the leg meal over the wings but when I return I'll do the wings as my meat. The collard greens were seasoned with no meat but taste amazing good. So good! The Mac and cheese was also a winner. The portion size of the side dishes were nice, had enough to eat later for dinner. The corn muffin was sweet like I like my cornbread but dry. Still edible and enjoyable. Next time I'm trying the candied yams. In addition to rotisserie chicken, Nick's also sells BBQ ribs and sub sandwiches. I predict Nick's will be one of my go to spots for lunch because it's so close to my job. Score!

Now the food: if you don't want to wait long. ORDER AHEAD. When I placed my order online it was about a hour wait time. Luckily I wasn't starving because that's a bit extreme to wait for carry out food. When we received the food everything smelt GREAT. I personally ordered the maple jerk wings, Mac and string beans. The wings were good, they were a little more sweet than jerky but still good. I was really disappointed with the Mac and String Beans. Normally I'm all for flavor, but the seasoning on the string beans were overwhelming and the Mac & cheese was very very salty. I thought it was just mine but this seemed to be the general consensus. Everyone else enjoyed their food and the talk of the night were the salmon tenders. Our least favorite item was the shrimp. To me paying $13.99 then an additional 2.99 for the sauce for it to not even be fully coated and overly battered is insane. I wouldn't have cared if the price matched the quality.

The chicken was cooked in fresh grease (y'all KNOW how important that is!), was well seasoned, crispy and juicy. Wings were a decent size -- not pigeons or steroid huge. It was easily the best/my family's favorite part of the meal (I'm already thinking about trying the fried pork chops next ). It is now on the street across from the old location. I read that their chitterlings were good and I was in the area, so I decided to find out for myself. Upon entering, I was met with a heated glass case which had the chitterlings, along with the hog maws (that would be pig's stomach), in addition to side items such as candied sweet potatoes and collard greens. The ambiance was of a traditional carry-out, but on a slow day ( I went on a Saturday late afternoon). I saw the pricing for the chitterlings and hog maws and was taken aback: the small round deli container that hold 1/4 pound of food was going for $15 with prices only increasing as the deli container sizes did. I had to remind myself, as a connoisseur of chitterlings and hog maws from my extensive family history of preparing such soul food delicacies, that it takes an awful long time to clean those pig intestines and stomach, I mean HOURS to remove the waste and grit followed by extensive rinsing to make sure none of that ilk remains. So I took one for the team and got the $15 container of chitterlings, along with the same size container of sweet potatoes. I doused them in hot sauce that was provided. The ladies were on the grill cooking an insane amount of scrapple, another home favorite that I enjoy. The pleasant gentleman that assisted me said that they are open for breakfast Monday-Sat beginning at 6a. I may have to stop by... Once home, I got into those chitterlings fast: they were cooked well, with NO grit, and had a vinegary flavor that was enhanced by the hot sauce. They were GOOD. The sweet potatoes were whipped, but as I tasted them, they were missing something. I whipped out my nutmeg and cinnamon and with a few shakes of each, the sweet potatoes were just as they should be. Angi's also sells pig's feet, subs, sandwiches, and fish. All in all, a good place to grab some chitterlings, hog maws, pig's feet, and other soul food-themed items. Will definitely be back to try the hog maws and to grab a scrapple sandwich for breakfast.

When we picked it up they were kind and encouraged us to come back. This was my first time and she offered to give us menus to take back to our jobs My friend got lamb chops and she also got honey old bay fist. That fish was delicious. Can't wait to try it again

This hidden gem is a great carryout spot for your evening cravings of soul. I order the fried…read moreshrimp with parmesan fries and their Lamb chops with Green beans and collards. Aye, I WAS HORNGRY, and food is my coping mechanism. In short here are my tidbits: Pros(ish) * FOOD. If you don't work out or have a decent system, you may need to plan your trips here. Their food can be habit forming. EVERYTHING is well seasoned. Those PARMESAN FRIES are RIDICULOUS. You can almost taste the calories. The GARLIC MASH POTATOES are not from a box-somebodys grandmama is back there getting it in!!! The collard greens are, ummm, how can I put this, anglo-friendly(no offense). Ya know, cooked but very light (if any) seasoning. The green beans make up for what the collards didnt have( Lord, did they make up). SHIRMP was seasoned to perfection. 2pts * CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don't judge a book by its cover. In this city, I've found customer service to be below par, HOWEVER, my experience was excellent. The gentleman who took my order was polite, clear, and on point with how long it would take. SET THE EXPECTATION. BEAT THE EXPECTATION. 3pts * CASH APP. Yes, this small establishment accepts cash app. Why can't others get on board, IJS. 1pt Cons(ish) * The LAMB was good, but in the order you only get two, so unless you're craving lamb try something more on the soul side to get a bigger bang for your buck. Also, I should've asked for them at a medium, they were cooked, well. Also the rice was a bit moist. Flavors were all there, and trust me, there was nothing left, nothing. -1 * The eve I went, there wasn't much of a crowd and it didn't look like a dine in set up(though inward told by a friend they did)‍ -.5 * Their card machine was down, BUT, they accept cash app. And even in the midst of this (crisis...I kid), the gent was quick to counter and offer other guest solutions, who didn't have cash app (don't ask me how someone doesnt). -.5 Overall, food was good and my pockets didn't feel like they we're taken advantage of(except for the lamb). If they add an 2 lamb chops to the meal I think they'll be almost there...
