Wednesday 3/26/25 This spot came across my Instagram feed on a post that was shouting out black owned businesses in Baltimore and one of the spots highlighted was a black owned soul food spot. I made a family order through DoorDash, and I specifically got the half chicken dinner with Mac & yams $25. I was able to try some of the other items that the family got. The service was kind and easy, and we were given an extra cornbread muffin per meal, which was much appreciated. - The half rotisserie chicken has a steep price tag of $25 that isn't worth it, and the chicken itself left me with mixed feelings. The skin has flavor, but the chicken itself is dry and weak. - The Mac n cheese is the definition of bland. It didn't have any flavor or taste. There's no seasoning, only noodles and cheese. - The yams were standard as they're just crushed up sweet potato's which is very hard to mess up. - The cornbread muffin was the best item on the menu. The muffins were sweet and moist. - My mom got the rib dinner plate, and I was able to sample it. The rib was alright, but wasn't tender and didn't do much for me. - My mom got the whiting dinner plate that I was also able to sample. They gave us an extra piece of fish, which was nice, but the fish itself was dry and needed a sauce to elevate the experience. My family tried their meals and walked away with the opinion that the majority of the food was bland and I have to agree with them. A black owned soul food spot, yet there's no seasoning or flavor.

12:15 on a Wednesday -Ambience-clean , cozy eatery with nice seating areas. 2 booths and a high bar area with 3 stools. I was helped by a really pleasant and funny man at counter and a really nice woman checked me out. They were organized and pleasant and very friendly. This with a long line and while simultaneously preparing pre ordered plates. The food : I am typing this with my eyes closed , lips greasy and shoes off --so good I wanted to smack somebody. I don't know where they are hiding the church lady with the big arms in the back but somebody threw down on this food. I don't get to use this word often but this was a succulent meal. Chicken -perfection. Sweet potatoes-So perfect I shed a tear. Mac and cheese It's so hard to find good baked Mac and cheese with the crispy crust and edges but that's what I got. Even the potato salad was good!!! The only tiny missing piece is that I would add a bit of spice to Mac and cheese and potato salad but that's not even necessary depending on your taste. Everything was delectable for a carry out. My entire party was shocked. No one was even talking because we were stuffing our faces. We will def be back.

This is my first stop in Baltimore..... I DO NOT WANT TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! Customer service was amazing. Patient, courteous, kind and family oriented!! They made me feel like family. They are a team and you can feel the love in what they do. Now to the food. The chicken was moist, hot, seasoned and the chicken skin was EVERYTHING!!!! the greens where some a space kitchen for sure ( meaning they were the best I've ever had) and the cabbage was 10/10. She then brought out some candied yams 20/10 I will be back before we leave BMore!! 10/10 MUST TRY AGAIN

    Nicks nutmeg disaster

still family owned but the family don't seem happy to work there. Yams used to be perfectly seasoned and cut cubes in 2010 and the the chicken used to be ROTISSERIE Cooked in a spinning thingy. Now yall selling baked chicken which taste totally different. No smoked flavor!!!! yanked the price up. and y'all not even smoking the meat! i came hungry sat down at the nice tables and taste my food, left the establishmen mad and hungry looking for something to get the overwhelming taste of NUTMEG out my mouth. Disappointed! whoever Romano is should never have touched the business, should've left it like it was 2010 was a year man.

Customer service: 15/10 Mac & cheese: 9/10 Chicken: 15/10- the seasoning and ability to keep the chicken moist and crispy is unmatched. Greens: 8/10 Sweet potatoes: 9/10 Potato salad: 12/10 Would I sneak into their house on thanksgiving and pretend I'm a long lost cousin???? Absolutely. Their side items are solid. I judge and soul food place by the quality of mac&cheese and they did not disappoint. I will absolutely return....trying to re-big by back.

Nick's Rotisserie is a local family-owned restaurant in the Washington Village neighborhood. Nick's offers great-tasting Southern-style chicken meals. The rotisserie chicken is very flavorful, moist, seasoned to perfection, and fresh. You can get the chicken as 1/4 leg or breast and 4-wing dinners. The dinners include two sides and a muffin. The sweet potatoes and macaroni and cheese are really good. I have tried the fried chicken box dinner but I don't recommend it, not as good compared to the rotisserie chicken. I would highly suggest, you order ahead over the phone to avoid the line and the chicken running out. The staff is courteous and friendly as well.

First off just to give you some perspective, I come from a family that can cook, especially soul food/southern dishes. I can cook, my mom, dad, sister, grandma, grandfathers, etc. I stumbled across Nick's when I was looking for a nail salon. I ordered seafood mac and cheese, collard greens, cabbage and corn bread. Its not alot of food. I eat small portions so I can eat this in 2 sittings. I'm giving this food FIVE STARS. It is hitting, as the young people say. OMG It tastes like my great grandma's food and she was the best cook/baker I ever had in my life. The corn bread tastes like mine. Every bite of the seafood mac and cheese had crabmeat in it. I didn't have to add a lick.of salt, pepper, hot sauce, NADA. The homemade lemonade tastes like what my great grandma made in a large tub. The only negatives are they do not offer a veggie only plate and the cost. I had to buy everything a la carte. The seafood mac and cheese by itself is $20. Everything came out to be a little over $30. I had sticker shock but I would buy it again because the food is excellent and I'm a foodie. Service was pleasant, friendly and quick.

Leg Dinner with Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens .... Loved it!

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place. I was out heading to lunch, sitting at a stop light, looked to my right and saw a sign for Nick's Rotisserie. I quickly pulled over to check them out. It's a spacious place, I was the only person in the restaurant at noon. I ordered the 1 piece leg meal with Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens. All meals come with 2 sides and a corn muffin. The wings looked scrumptious, I'm not sure why I chose the leg meal over the wings but when I return I'll do the wings as my meat. The collard greens were seasoned with no meat but taste amazing good. So good! The Mac and cheese was also a winner. The portion size of the side dishes were nice, had enough to eat later for dinner. The corn muffin was sweet like I like my cornbread but dry. Still edible and enjoyable. Next time I'm trying the candied yams. In addition to rotisserie chicken, Nick's also sells BBQ ribs and sub sandwiches. I predict Nick's will be one of my go to spots for lunch because it's so close to my job. Score!

The crust and sauce as it should be, the cheese, just enough and the pepperoni had just enough bite! Recommended! We took home a couple of rice balls (arancini) and they were okay. I've never seen yellow rice in a rice ball, nor a meatball used as the center. It's usually ground beef, a little sauce with peas. It was odd to me though the marinara they gave with this was really good. Maybe this is how rice balls are made here in Baltimore and that's okay, it's the only reason I knocked a star off. The fellow behind the counter was very nice and helpful, there is not a lot of room to sit, but we had room. A good sign that during our visit an employee of the Department of Health had his lunch there. A good sign that it's clean in the kitchen (it was definitely clean out front.) Recommended for the pizza. We'll be back.

Started out with the Crab Rangoon which was crunchy and crispy, filled with the Rangoon. The neighborhood bird was voted best chicken sandwich in Baltimore and I can see why. The sandwich is on a steam bun which had a sweetness to it. The chicken thigh is large and filling, seasoned well and goes well with the mayo, pickles and herbs. The crispy shrimp bowl came with fried shrimp lying on a bed of basmati rice, some pickled vegetables and herbs. Definitely have to mix all your ingredients together to get the maximum flavor. The Yuzu drinks were refreshing. The white peach flavor was delicious. Overrall the meal came up to $66 with a 20% tip. Seemed like a lot of people order online for pick up. My friend and I split the cost since we were planning on having a second lunch after this lol. The sandwich is a crab cake + softshell crab on a very soft bao bun. It was pretty good but it was alittle lukewarm since we were late for our pick up (so our bad). Very good sandwich with delectable flavors with the crab cake full of meat and the crunchiness of the softshell crab. Pretty solid sandwich! Im not sure if its worth the price point but I appreciated as is.
