A beautiful place to walk with plenty of parking. Stroll down this slice of Heaven and stay off the cell. You will not want to miss some hidden gems like the Constance Witherby Statue near Claredon Street. Another nice thing is the bike path is on the street and the cinder is not bike friendly.

Blackstone Boulevard is the perfect location for a morning or afternoon walk, jog, sprint, stroll. . . if you need the distance to accomplish something, this is the place for it! I park my car on Butler Ave near the Blackstone Park and catch the walking path at this end of the route. I walk a bit first and start running at the Lloyd Ave intersection of the path. From this point to the end of the path is 1.5 miles. . . making it a convenient training tool for a 5K as out and back makes 3 miles! Except for one small stretch of path made of pavement, the rest is a mix of small rocks and dirt. This type of surface is much more forgiving on the joints and has thus far prevented my dreaded shin splints from reoccurring. There is a great deal of shade and a slight breeze creating as much of an enjoyable environment as one can imagine while exercising. There are several intersecting streets crossing the path, though I find drivers are very respectful of those traversing it. I've only ever had to pause long enough for someone to wave me across. I highly recommend this path and look forward to continue training on it.

I love this path and run on it at least once a week. It's a perfect three-mile loop: well shaded, not too hilly, excellent for people-watching and well-trafficked so it's safe. My favorite parts of this path though are the little extras that make it quirky and wonderful. 1. Shirley's Lost and Found box. On one of the benches, about halfway down the path is a lost and found box. If you've ever dropped or found anything on the path, put it in there and it will likely find its owner. 2. Stump seats. These are a new addition to the path, and there are more all the time. Look out for chair backs screwed into stumps along the path--there are at least two. https://www.facebook.com/StumpChair 3. The holiday tree. I'm not a big fan of christmas, but there's a tree at the Pawtucket end of the path that gets decorated every year. Starting around the beginning of December, people start adding decorations. By Christmas day last year, it was full. It's great fun to see people come together to make something festive. 4. The Spirit of Youth statue. Every time I run by this statue, it just seems so peaceful. It's in a little tree-lined alcove that makes it seems miles away from the city. I'm so glad we have this in Providence, and my only wish is that the city would add a water fountain to one end--hint hint.

I love this path. It is mostly unpaved but smooth-ish. There are usually people walking along it and it's a pretty walk.

Great for walking, jogging and running. The scenery is beautiful and you don't have to worry about animal droppings along the path.

My go to walking/jogging path. It is nice anytime of year and especially beautiful in the spring with the blooming trees and flowers.

One of the few public paths left in Providence that doesn't have illegal Guatamalans drinking Corona's in it. Great spot.

There are also a sledding hill, baseball diamonds and a skate park at the base. I come here for the hiking. For being only 10 minutes from downtown providence, it's very impressive. It's small, just shy of 90 acres, but the trail network is fantastic. I felt my cortisol drop significantly just after a few steps on the trail. At one point, the Providence noise pollution almost disappeared & all I could hear was birds & bugs & wind. Unfortunately it's a seriously confusing smorgasbord of trails. I had to pull up AllTrails a few times, which is borderline embarrassing, considering how small of a park this is. I'm not sure I really followed any of the proper trails, just kinda zigzagged around. I would've felt more at ease if the trails were marked more clearly. Still highly recommend as a great green space. Enjoy!

We ordered a chicken flat bread, roast beef flat bread, Greek salad, and some pasta. Not knowing what kind of food to expect at a boat house we were all pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The chicken flat bread was wonderful, crispy on the outside, warm and moist on the inside. The roast beef sandwich was also delicious and warm. Both good sized sandwiches were served with homemade chips and a pickle. The Greek salad was refreshing and plentiful full of mixed greens, tomatoes, olive, cheese, and cucumber. Siting by the water front was so peaceful and relaxing after walking much of Roger Williams Park. The park had other restaurants by the carousal and in the zoo, but those served fast food hot dogs and such. We finished off our meal with a couple of ice creams. The Swan boat restaurant was such a wonderful and tasty surprise that my group all agreed, it was the best and most memorable part of our day in the Park. The waterfront atmosphere made it perfect! Roger Williams Park in general was very nice and quaint. We enjoyed walking through the botanical garden, Japanese garden, and the next day the zoo since we were short on time the first day.
