Kicking myself now getting back home because I realized later that I only shot 5 guns and the Barrett--so I should have shot another gun. But totally my mistake since I was supposed to manage the count also. That said, time kinda flies while here and waiting with other groups to shoot so consider that! The whole activity was 4 hours including the shuttle service --which was great! Shout out to Wesley for making the ride enjoyable and educational about Vegas! Shot a few full auto rifles (G36 & Scar-L), Deagle, DMR, and Archangel. The range has some exploding targets, which also made it a blast--literally! All the gun safety trainers were really great and patient, which made it much more approachable. My partner and I are still watching videos of the day after getting back from Vegas! Definitely will have to do it again next time we're in town!

Ben (our instructor) is very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and great at teaching! I've been to a few places and this one is the best by far. He is fully engaged with you from beginning to end and is great at helping you improve your skills from head to toe. He is great for beginners, as well as, professionals. It's located a bit off the beaten path, down Boulder Highway En route toward Boulder City, adjacent to a large taco restaurant and what appears to be an abandoned mini-strip mall. Upon entry, you can immediately ascertain that this isn't your ordinary gun shop. It has several glass counters, a classroom, and a not so discreet vault like door that leads to their indoor range (more on that later). I was immediately greeted by a nice gentleman and as I was there specifically for the range (as further evidenced by my gun bag), he showed me the range price list. I asked some additional questions and he was very thorough in explaining what kind of store they are and basically what sets them apart. Dark Horse Tactical is what I would consider to be an "Advanced" Firearms Retailer. Specializing in custom builds of firearms (like the ever so popular AR15) and other more advanced equipment. In layman's terms, I would consider Dark Horse Tactical to be a true Gunsmith Armorer, but that's just me. I agreed to rent a lane in their range, which at the time of this review costs $20 per hour if you provide your own firearms and ammunition. Before heading in, I inquired if he could possibly inspect one of my firearms that gave me some issues last time I shot it. He agreed without hesitation and when I handed him my Beretta 92FS, he immediately and thoroughly field stripped it, expertly testing all parts and assured me that it was indeed in good working order (which I was thrilled to hear and was able to ascertain that it was a worn out magazine that actually caused the issue last time). He didn't have to go through a rules diatribe that some ranges do. He simply escorted me to my lane, explained how the target conveyor belt worked, and gave me a timer so I knew how much time I had left. He also explained their loyalty program whereupon after purchasing a certain number of range rentals, you get one free. Simple and to the point (unlike any of my esoteric Yelp reviews). The indoor range, for me at least, was perfect. It's very intimate, with what I believe are a total of 4 lanes. Strong air conditioning, which I loved, and enough privacy that I felt like I was shooting at a private facility just for me. As I was leaving, I inquired about their CCW classes that they offer once a month. I will be attending their next one for sure. Dark Horse Tactical isn't the place to go if you want to wander around and gawk at thousands of different firearms and equipment. It's where you go when you want a nice intimate experience in a comfortable range or want to take your passion for firearms and self defense to the next level. The knowledgeable and friendly staff there are excellent in every regard and I strongly suggest making the trip out there.
