I first took the BGS 2 Day Defensive Handgun class in May, 2023 and thoroughly enjoyed it. This repeat class has improved in many ways and is as satisfying now as it was then. I highly recommend taking this class if you wish to improve your shooting skills. May 10, 2023 Just completed the Blackstone Gun Safety 2 Day Defensive Handgun class . This was definitely an intense, detail oriented and exciting class to take. It's a shoot-shoot-shoot time with about 600-700 rounds(or more) fired at a variety of targets from 3 yards to 10 yards that was range dependent upon which target/situation you were practicing. All were challenging, even for the more experienced shooters and I think all participants came away with improved shooting skills as well as increased knowledge of how to deal with varying issues in the different scenarios . I highly recommend using Blackstone classes for beginners to seasoned gun owners wanting to improve their gun Skills. Dan and Nancy made the class fun while being very informative. I enjoyed the shooting range and was impressed how safety was taught while on the line. The instructors were courteous and helpful giving excellent tips to improve. Dan had props and did demonstrations to teach his class which took out any doubt on how to do a procedure. Dan Blackstone and his wife, Nancy, run a business instructing people about gun safety and acquiring your CCW permit. Although I've been shooting pistols and rifles for over 40 years, I have never received professional instruction related to shooting. I was surprised by how much I needed to improve. Also, learning about the do's and don'ts related to carrying a gun in the state of Nevada has made feel competent to conceal carry. Both Dan and Nancy are exceptional Instructors and their curriculum was easy to understand. I would recommend Blackstone Gun Safety Nevada without any reservation. When I lived in Texas, I was privy to many CCW/LTC courses when I used to work for Texas Law Shield. I went to this course because we recently relocated from Texas. This class was probably my most favorite one I've been in. Great information, very engaging and super helpful. I had a really good time, Dan and his wife are such lovely folks. They were all about safety on the range and very patient with any issues that might have come about with some folks equipment. They had several Range officers out there to help all those online during the shooting making sure everyone was being safe. Blackstone Gun safety class for a new CCW was perfect! I am new to everything about guns! This class was very informative, teaching method was great; used videos and PowerPoint presentations along with active dialogue between Dan and the other class members, small class size made this a perfect class for me. The shooting time at the range was great also. I received all the help and guidance I needed to feel comfortable learning to use a firearm. Very affordable, yummy cookies! Dan and Nancy are simply the BEST at teaching gun safety and in particular a CCW class. Dan used many personal and other stories to illustrate important points which I found to be very helpful when taking the written exam at the end of the course. He obviously knows firearms and their relevant laws very well. By the way, I am 78 years old with shaky hands when I take tests (apparently) and Nancy was very helpful for my passing the 30-round shooting test at the range. One of the best Gun Safety classes for a (Concealed Carry Permit) I have been to in the over 24 years I have lived in Nevada! Been to three other classes in Pahrump and Blackstone puts the others to shame. The gun shooting qualification is more like a family gathering, not a stressful event. I took this CCW class and it was a great experience. I felt like the information provided was sufficient for anyone regardless of their level of knowledge. It also included a shooting portion that covered handling a gun properly. While I am not a novice, you can never review this important information enough times.
