I got my son the door gunner package with the tactical flight. This was for his 21st birthday. His mom rode along since neither have been in a Helicopter before. We did the gunship helicopter with the M240 and it was a wonderful experience. The people there were very nice, helpful, and very professional. Jenelle our driver was very nice and very delightful. We also did the .50 Cal and they also showed us where to shoot very clearly for both experiences I should say. The .50 barely had any kick and has a duo pod and monopod for better accuracy and less recoil. My best friends and I had one of the best days ever here! The staff is professional and tons of fun. They picked us up from the Venetian (strongly suggest having them do this if possible or if you rent a car make sure it's a SUV or Truck). The trip out there is a little rough (twisty roads and about a mile of thick gravel), I don't suggest being hungover and then doing this. We were a group of 3 so we took turns shooting. We paid for the video and "photo shoot". The staff there are awesome, mostly former military which we loved and respected! Tips: bring a hair tie, sunglasses, water and snacks. read more

It was my friend's Birthday and he wanted to go here to shoot a machinegun out of the helicopter and I said oh yeah. It is a long drive to get there and a very rocky 3 mile road to get here but it is worth it. the staff is amazing and we had a blast. I totally recommend going here. While we were flying we saw the other items they do. You can shoot a round from a tank and fire a flame thrower. Crazy stuff here and it is spread out so totally safe. My buddy started off shooting an MP5 and then the M4 finishing off with the Barrett 50Cal sniper rifle. The percussion was bad ass. After that we went to the air and shot the SAW from the helicopter. I (42m) went with my younger daughter for a unique experience. It is about an hour drive from Las Vegas. You have to have (or rent) your own car or use their available transportation service. It was a fun, unique experience for sure. The plan was that I shoot and my daughter just rides along. Well, she got the opportunity to shoot a fully automatic MP5 while waiting for things to kick off and loved it. I then asked the staff if we could switch such that she shoots and I ride after seeing how much she enjoyed the machine gun. They all chatted to ensure everyone was comfortable (a safety thing) and agreed without any fuss. The ride was a ton of fun, the staff was great and my daughter loved it. If I could give this place ten stars I would! So I have been wanting to come here for awhile and I asked my husband if we could come for my 35th birthday. I was nervous but excited and after combing through reviews here and on google I decided to just go for it. The entire experience went so well from Casey who helped us book everything to meeting Bradley our pilot when we arrived. Tom, Roland, and Ben were all so fantastic. While we waited our turn I expressed some nervousness to Tom who assured me that being on a helicopter was a similar sensation as being on an elevator and he was so right. Everyone was just SO professional and all about safety which was so comforting. I was also a little worried the experience might be a little cheesy but it wasn't at all. I already want to come back as soon as I can, maybe next month?? I don't think I'll have to twist my husbands arm. My husband also paid $200 for the door breach experience which was a blast. The whole thing was a huge adrenaline rush and I had a blast. I definitely recommend upgrading for as much ammo as possible for the machine gun and paying the $100 for the video. You can thank me later!! TIPS: Use WAZE GPS if you're driving yourself. Also don't take anything nice, we came in our truck because there's a long gravel road you take to get here. Amazing experience. Definitely something you have to try at least once. How many people can say they have shot out a helicopter? I booked over the phone about a month in advance. I opted to add in some extras later on. Casey was helpful with the process and answered all my questions promptly. Keep in mind you cannot take a Lyft or Uber to the location. You will need to rent a vehicle or utilize a chauffeur. I opted for a chauffeur for $320.00 round trip, which Casey helped me coordinate through Kaptyn. Super glad I chose that option because no way in hell would I have found the place if I drove myself lol. The experience itself is such an adrenaline rush. Ground shooting is a blast. Shot a sniper rifle a few times and it was LIT. Be advised that you should definitely purchase extra ammo for the helicopter experience because it does go fast. I would recommend purchasing the video package as well. Overall great experience and I look forward to coming back again next year. read more

This was by far one of the best experiences I ever had while in Nevada. I was nervous going in to it but with all the lessons and conversations I was so comfortable when the time came. Gunship Helicopters is gun range meets the sky. It's an aerial shooting experience to be specific. Gunship helicopters picks you up from your hotel on the strip and takes you to Sandy Valley, NV where the experience happens. It was about a 45 min drive from the Vegas strip. Christopher was our driver and he was kind. Upon arrival we had to fill out some waivers and take a lesson on all the dos and donts for the activity. The helicopters they use are pretty small. There was four of us. My partner , the pilot , the instructor and me. I got in strapped the seatbelt on and once we were in the sky I aimed towards the target and started shooting. It was the most exhilarating experience ever. I promise no animals or humans were injured during this experience. The experience is roughly $550 per shooter for the door gunner package. That package includes 100 rounds per shooter. You can always upgrade for more rounds or choose a different package which will have different features. In addition to the aerial shooting there is an opportunity for some ground shooting as well for an additional cost. The entire experience including travel is about 4-5 hrs. Depends on how many other parties are there shooting. Also keep in mind Gunship only provides transportation for groups of 3 or more. So if you're a duo you have to provide your own transportation and Uber doesn't go to that part of the desert. Definitely worth the experience if you're looking for something to do other than hit the casinos while in Vegas. read more

Ok.... this is where I lose my normally professional demeanor, and regress to my highschool self, when First Blood had already come out, and my group of friends were eagerly waiting for the release of Rambo. ALL I HEARD IN MY HEAD was the soundtrack to Rambo as I gripped that machine gun, and shot out the side of the helicopter. I even posted the videos they provided, dubbed them with the Rambo theme, on both Tiktok and Instagram. That's right. This experience is for every guy that fantasized about being Rambo, but simply didn't have the opportunity to join the military, or work on a movie set. This..... was.... the .... SHIZNIT! I purchased a package for around $600, which included 100 rounds for the helicopter gun, the purple smoke grenade for my action slow-mo video, and for the video inside the helicopter, which is shot from 4 different professional angles. Once I was at the venue, I opted for another 300 rounds, because if you know anything about machine guns, they go through ammo SUPER fast. Seconds! 300 rounds got me about a good minute of shooting time, but ran me another $600. WELL WORTH the video alone! (I got 10,000 likes the first 7 hours on Tiktok). When I discovered Gun Ship Helicopters I knew I had to take my father out for an experience of a lifetime. What I didn't realize was how much history he had regarding it. It started out loaded in a van, picked up at the Cosmopolitan where I set them up to stay, & driven all the way out to the facilities on the border of California & Nevada. Deep in the desert on the Nevada side, in one of the few states honoring our freedoms. After safety demonstrations, we headed to the range to shoot an automatic MP5, automatic M4A1, silenced automatic AK-47, & two shots each from the Barrett M82A1 50 caliber sniper rifle. My dad landed 1/2 & I scored 2/2 as a sniper, guess I was born with apocalyptic skills right? Even though it's supposed to be super reliable yet inaccurate we both didn't like the AK. It just felt cheap. Next was the helicopter experience with the additional smoke grenade photo opportunity I added. Yes, I wanted the perfect shot. Before our turns to fly & shoot the M249 SAW out the side, my dad shared the most amazing story with the veterans. During the Vietnam war draft, it was common knowledge that shorter men would be handed explosives & told to run into the underground tunnels. This was death for nearly all of them. If you elected your position & signed up early they would place you where you desired. For my father, he wanted to hang out the side of a Huey helicopter blasting a machine gun with roaring Jimi Hendrix on the speakers. By the grace of God, he won the lottery during the draft. This meant the last four of his SSN were selected & he never had to go. Now you know why I'm here. I've never heard that story from my father. I just planned this for him because I knew he would love it, & I wanted to set the bar extremely high for experiences for my siblings. This bucket list experience was worth every penny. I expected us to have fun, bring us closer together, but it also deepened my respect for & my pro-gun 2nd amendment beliefs. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience this is it. Flying through the desert in a chopper as a Door Gunner firing hundreds of rounds from a M249 SAW, I feel like this review writes itself. Incredible feeling as you see the landscape wind in your face and circling the terrain. They picked us up from our hotel (MGM) and did a great job of making us feel welcome. I have experience with long rifle and handguns but being from LA we don't get to enjoy the full auto perks of range trips too often. This one topped them all. After our time up in the air we pumped a few hundred more rounds through the ak-47, mp5 and 50 cal. Thank you GH for the highlight of our vegas trip!
