Dump located in front of site 15.
    Michele O.

The RV Park is conveniently located just a short drive from the zoo and the underground gardens, and the price was right. Our site had water, electrical (30 amp) and sewer. The electrical panel was on the opposite side of the water, so that was a bit unusual. Supposedly, the park fee also included wifi, but we were not given a code to access. The office was not staffed while we were there, so no one was available to ask about the code. The park needs some TLC. Trees need to be trimmed; branches brushed the top of our RV as we drove through the park to our site. And there are lots of long-term residents with older RVs that have seen better days. The park itself was quiet, but it is located next to a major street and a highway, so we heard lots of road noise ALL NIGHT. And the park is not very secure, anyone can wander or drive in and out, and they did. The community dump station (if you can call it that) was located in front of our site. Luckily, no one used it while we were there. The photos on the website were a bit misleading; I was expecting something a little more lush. But, it served its purpose, so it gets 3 stars from me.

The map of the park. Sight 57 is a winner!

While in Fresno we stayed here and RV'ed for six (6) days. The park was clean and we had a great site but it was rather noisy. The business on the other side of the wall were loud and always going. The street noise from Blackstone was very loud. I would suggest a different site and maybe it would be better. Oh well!

$20 dollars to Dump. It's a very strange dump station. It's a green lid in the middle of the street in front of site 15 with arrows painted in the middle of the road. The lady was nice up front and the staff escorted us to the location. If you turn into the RV park just go down the street and you will see the sign. The price is steep to me but we needed a place. When leaving it's almost impossible to do with out scraping your rig with trees in an incredibly tight turn (45ft 5th wheel & Denali GMC long bed towing). We had to back up about 60 ft into another street to turn around and head back out the main entrance. If you can make it to Loves or a pilot I would push for that. I gave three stars just because of the weird set up, difficulty exiting and price. In all pretty clean though so that helps.

Yes it was close to Costco and other stores but so tight and public areas are very poor rundown.

It's literally across from the fishing area, picnic area, farthest from the traffic and road noise. The water has a fountain and ongoing movement of water, perhaps that's why it seems more natural looking vs stagnant and gross. Most of this area and the opposite side of the river is undeveloped so it has a nature feel that most campsites I've been to don't give. And I've been to lots of them. My Hubby and sons caught like 7, 8, and 20 fish they said. All catch and release. Tons of catfish & bass. Some are so huge. Keep staring at the water near the small metal dock there and you might see them all. We are in site 122. The road noise woke me up at 6am, so I put in my earplugs and slept until 9am. For my future self, make sure to keep a permanent earplug stash in the RV. Other times I've been in other sites and the noise wasn't an issue and we've stayed here at least 3-4x. It's not glamorous, it doesn't have a ton of extra like a pool, putting greens, pool table, snack bar, etc. But it does have a small, shaded kids play area, volleyball net, basketball hoop, shaded picnic tables. It's so country feeling and relaxing. Its quiet & thats what I prefer when I go camping. This is one of my favorite camping spots in the cooler months of early Spring like March. One day I'd like to come here & camp on my way to Yosemite or Kings Canyon. Great rates & highly suggest.

We had dinner at the Sequoia Brewing Company which we'd recommend- see review. While this wasn't our first choice, it was very nice and still allowed us to get into the park.

We stayed in cabin 54 The pictures on the website look very well maintained and clean. Yet in person it was very unkept. The pool was slightly green, and Park had a few broken pieces, and a ton of weeds. I am so glad we didn't bring our golden doodle, because the dog park was dirt and weeks, along with our cabin area. We arrived an hour and a half before check in, we were told by the lady at the front desk that our cabin was a priority, however after an hour of waiting we had to leave to go pick up our son, we were told at 2pm that they were just need to add linens to our cabin and it will be ready, but we had to go. Check in time is 3pm. When we arrived back to the park at 4:30pm, we were told that the staff was still putting linens in our cabin. We couldn't check in until 5pm... 2 hours after their check in time. When I booked this cabin, I specifically asked the staff if the beds came with linens, or if we had to bring our own. I was told that this is similar to a hotel and all lines are provided. Grated after we checked in the office closed. We didn't realize till bed time that both bunks up stairs, and the pull out bed and no linens!! I tried calling the after hours number, only to be forwarded to voicemail. We had dirty dishes in the cabinets, old spices with spice residue in the cabinet, let over open bag of ice in the freezer, a sock in bedroom drawer. The TV WiFi wasn't working, dusty and dirty fans in the bathroom and the bedroom. AC unit in the living room wasn't working. The bedroom had 2 bedside lamps, one with a busted lamp shade and the other missing completely. The bedroom light, was flickering, and then shutting completely off, we had concerns of a shortage, but was told it was the light bulbs. The loft carpet smelt like piss. Siding coming off the staircase. Kitchen chandelier was hanging up by a plastic shoe hook. Just felt really dingy and dirty after seeing things. For the price it definitely wasn't worth it: the workers were semi helpful, and refunded me a night.

Yet majority of the time, I have been lucky to get a reservation here. To make a reservation, you will need to go on Camplife.com and select Camp Edison as your location. Reservations open up 6 months prior to your desired camping dates. So if you want to camp around June, you will need to get on the reservation site around December and compete with others in the reservation process. Reserving for May-July are the worst; similar to reserving at Yosemite National Park. It can be frustrating as you will be assigned a random number in the queue at 8am on the dot; so make sure you're logged in at least 15 minutes prior just in case you encounter connection issues. You can be either #1 or #1000; it just depends on how many are on the site at that given time. You also have a time limit to make your reservation or risk to having it swooped by another camper if you fail to do so. I recommend making your reservation on a desktop and not on mobile as you might have issues with cell signal. As far as the experience goes, I just love camping here. Sites are adequately spaced but other "Loops" may be a bit spacier. Most sites are RV/Trailer accomodating. Electric meters for eac site, communal water stations, hot showers (shower card needed) and flushing toilets. They also have a Camp Store near the Check In Booth. There are also vendors that drive around that sell firewood. You can also rent boats at the Shaver Lake Marina, and if fully booked, you can try your luck at the nearby Sierra Marina. Walking distance to Shaver Lake and a few mins drive to the Shaver Lake town. I highly recommend this campgrund if you're lucky to snag a spot online. Also, you can pay for "Day Use" only - which basically is equivalent to a Day Pass. Good luck!

After staying for nine days we found out that you had to become an escapee's member and the cost was $49. To join for one year. The park refunded this in a free night credit. While staying here we met the park manager and took a tour after finding out they are a 55+ members park. After reviewing the park information and seeing what a beautiful park this was we decided to make this our home base. We travel to many places after retirement but found that we needed a place to hang out hat for Dr. appointments, and staying connected with our family in the Central Valley. We bought in and picked our site. The unique nature of living here is that the members here all volunteer to help keep cost down to run the park. This gave us a sense of ownership and community. We volunteer 3 days per week for approximately 4 hours per day and join in on special events to help set up or organize events that are for the members. It's not like having a job but more like going to hang out with folks that have the same interests. There is constantly an event going on weather you like to play cards, pool, dominoes, darts, working out , or outdoor activities like pickle ball or mini golf the fun is endless. This amazing place has beautiful views of the Sierra foothills and there's even a casino across the mountain. Becoming a member here has given us a place to call home in between our travels and our site remains ours when we're in the park. If you're thinking of becoming a full timer or if you're looking for a great place to glamp, this is the place!
