I will still buy flowers but I will ALSO come here for a fresh haircut). The price is fair for the neighborhood. As of January 2023, it's $35 for a men's haircut. I met Mark while he was at Art of Shaving, and honestly have never had a better haircut from anyone. If you think men's haircuts are standard/ one size fits all, you're wrong. Mark understands different hair types and how to get the results you actually want. I had asked every barber, stylist etc for what I thought was a simple request for years- a low fade. I thought maybe my hair texture just wasn't right because surely, after asking some pretty knowledgeable people a basic request, it must be me right? Mark immediately understood my request, hair type, and is the only person to give me the results I wanted. I had a great experience here. Marc was excellent: very detailed oriented, precise and easy going. He was a master stylist at the art of shaving who left and started his own shop. He's a professional and you'll walk out feeling and looking like a million bucks. They take reservations but I called about about 20 minutes before I showed up and only have to wait a few minutes before getting my cut. They are cash only now but will be installing a credit card system soon. I highly recommend giving them a shot. I know I'll be coming back again. read more

The portly gentleman in the first chair a few Saturdays back took a 1 buzzer to my sides harder and more aggressive than any barber I've ever encountered. We're not expecting salon type treatment here, but hair cuts generally feel refreshing and pleasant. This experience couldn't have been further from that. It actually hurt and I'm surprised I didn't bleed. I didn't let him do any scissor work up top after seeing his approach on the sides. From the moment we stepped in, the owner, Mark was extremely friendly and greeting. My boyfriend wanted a fade and his barber was out of town, Mark exceeded his expectations and more. My boyfriend will continue going to Mark. He is so happy he found this hidden gem. What got me to love this place was that as I was waiting for my boyfriend to get a haircut, I was thirsty and Mark offered me a cold bottle of water, it was a very nice gesture. I have to leave this review as a warning...I've been growing my hair out for a few years and get a fade on the sides about every 4-6 weeks, nothing crazy. I was looking for a new place so I went here. There were two barbers, a man and a woman, I sat down with the woman. I should have known immediately this was a bad idea when she asked me to put my own hair up. Every barber I've been to uses their clips and whatnot to put it up so they can work. I gave the simple instruction that I wanted a fade, starting at 0. That's usually enough of an instruction because every barber knows how to blend it up so it looks good and uses my current hairline as a guide. She seemed confused, had to ask the guy about it and then they started asking me about how I wanted it done. I've never had to explain a fade because every other barber knows what to do and can figure it out just by looking at the existing grown-in fade. I should have just gotten up at that point. I went through with it and sure enough it's about the sloppiest work I have seen. She went up way too high, I have little hairs of varying length sticking out of the sides where the fade was supposed to end, the sides aren't even with each other and it just looks awful. I don't know how to accurately describe how bad it is, how seriously they screwed up a simple fade. I would have appreciated some honesty that she didn't know what she was doing or at least that she clearly didn't understand what I wanted (which was about as simple as it gets). How does a barber not know how do to a fade on someone that looks good? After years of growing I don't even know if I can salvage what's left because I will not be able to get the side right with how much she took off. How could she cut into the long hair??? so unbelievably careless. Oh, and to top it off, there isn't even a fade, it's just basically the same length all the way up. I'm mostly mad at myself because it was clear from the beginning that this wasn't going to go well. I guess it's ultimately my fault for not going with my gut regarding the incompetency. I get that the end result is on me. So be warned, don't make the same mistake I did and please stay as far away from this place as possible. read more
