I found this Optometry from my healthcare website. I wanted to pick a place close to my home. The last time I went to get my eyes check was pre-pandemic period and my vision isn't as good as before. Plus it was about time to get my eye exam. I called ahead to make the appointment and gave my healthcare info so that everything would be prepared before I went to my first visit there. The receptionist was very friendly and validated my insurance. I arrived and was pleasantly pleased to come to a very clean and lovely smelling office. I had a wonderful visit with Dr, Harvey Ledesma. He confirmed my suspicion that my vision got worse. I paid for the extra exam for pictures to be taken of my eyes. He was able to view that I didn't have any signs of glaucoma, high blood pressure or diabetes just by those exams, which was a relief for me. Dr. Harvey was so pleasant and very informative. I scheduled another visit for my son to see him as well. We were very happy with his service as well and the service from the office assistants in picking out our glasses. I've been a patient with Dr. Ledesma since he opened, and he's a warm, caring, personable professional who always takes his time explaining things I don't understand or questions I have without making me feel at all rushed. When I came in after testing positive with both genetic markers for macular degeneration, he was really compassionate. He recommended supplements and nutrition, took a scan of my macula as a base line, and continues to run a scan every year as part of my exam. After asking for consent, he even took my hands and prayed for me! I came in worried and left feeling very grateful. He's very present with me and has a good sense of humor as well. I don't buy my glasses there, and it's never been an issue. They're really great looking, but a bit more than I want to spend, and his staff is really nice and never make me feel pressured. I have always allowed for the little things like worse selection of eyewear ALWAYS and the staff is cold (one receptionist I have gotten to know over the past 10 years now greats me with a smile). I have dual insurance and they don't split the cost by putting some on my insurance and some on the other. For example, bill my husbands insurance for the exam and mine for the actual glasses. My kids and husband go to different eye doctors and their doctors bill this way so we don't have to pay so much out of pocket. Apparently, this too difficult for them. Done. Done. Done. read more

Six months later, the doctor read my review and contacted me personally to apologize for the poor service and to let me know that his staff was receiving additional training. He did not ask me to change my review and did not ask me to give him another chance; he only apologized. As a result, I returned to Dr. Ledesma in 2012, as did my wife. I came here a year ago and was dissatisfied with the ladies in the front office, the Dr is very nice, the office is great and the frame selection is awesome. But the assistants need better attitudes. I decided to give it another shot because my brother found frames he liked and as much as I tried to talk him out of spending more money there we went through with it. His office visit was great, the assistants were friendly, no problems until I Went to pick up his glasses and asked about his referal to another Dr for a surgery he needed. The assistant came out of the room looking angry, raised her voice and acted as if I had offended her in some way. It's not all the ladies but definately the old white lady with short blonde hair needs an attitude adjustment. Overall I won't be coming back or referring people there. read more

Dr. Ledesma was great but that is the only nice thing I can say about my experience here. My previous optometrist was in Corona but I wanted to find one closer since I moved to San Bernardino. First, when my glasses came in they were not the ones I picked out. The woman tried to argue that they were the correct glasses. When I insisted that they were not the right ones (they sat about an inch off of my face on either side) she begrudgingly said she would send them back. Four weeks later I called to find out where my glasses were and no one seemed to know. A few days later I get a call saying they had not passed inspection. This was not the office's fault but I feel like there should have been some follow up by them at some point. When I expressed my displeasure with the service thus far, Dr. Ledesma called me himself and said he requested a refund of my co pay. That was in February. I started trying to track down the co pay refund last week because I had not heard anything. I called the office and was told to call my insurance. I called my insurance and was told that the check was mailed to the doctor's office. I called the office back and was told they said they would have called me if they received the check. That was yesterday. I received a call today and they miraculously found the check. When I picked it up today I noticed it was dated February 25th. I asked if they had the check this whole time and the girl just shrugged. I will definitely not be returning. read more

I have been a patient of Harveys since their office up in Blue Jay and have followed them to Redlands. Everytime i go in they are always welcoming and quick. Dr. Harvey would always make little jokes during my visit and made it much more fun and not a typical boring eye appointment. Today was my first visit here, I had eye exam and my experience at this office was quite pleasant. From the minute I walked in the lady at the from desk was curtious and acklowedged me even though she was busy. I work in customer service at an office so I can appreciate the gesture. The wait was hardly anything of a wait. I was sitting for maybe 10 minutes before my exam, the Optometrist was pleasant and professional. I felt a genuine concern in helping me address my vision issues. After the exam I was lead to the room with to make my frame selection. I was greeted by Sylvia and she helped me decide as I tried different ones. We both agreed on the the first pair that caught my eye. (Lovely Ray Bans) you can't go wrong... Sylvia and I had had a fun conversation as she ordered my glasses. I just had to give credit where it is due, so many businesses lack proffesionalism and creating that raport with the customer. But not this place, it's pleasant, clean and fast. I will bring my family here for their exams based on my exeprience. read more

The front office is so rude. They all seem like they hate being here and could really careless about the patients. The 1st appointment they gave me was for 2 weeks out and the front office calls me the day before to say my insurance was not going to cover it, she did not provide a reason why said she would not call the insurance and I need to do that. I called got it fixed & call back and she said it would need to get verified and would take at least 48 hours, due to this issue I had to split my 3 children up into 2 different appointments. Both appointments we had to wait almost 2 hours, the front office was rude and Sylvia the manager had the nerve to yell at me saying they would never accept designer lens for IEHP. It has now been over 2 weeks and after visiting an eye specialist for my son I am provided a much different prescription than what Dr. Ledesma provided and that is because he never dilated my sons pupils. They did a very lazy job and did not provide an accurate assessment of my sons vision. I would never recommend this company to anyone, they have been a complete waste of time. We confronted Dr. Ledesma about the inaccurate reading and questioned his ethic and reasoning of not dilating the pupils. He said well in my heart I did what was best and if you dont like my service you can go elsewhere. We are absolutely disgusted he and his staff had no regard for my 6 year olds vision or their mistakes. read more

After waiting 1.5 hours to be seen the doctor, seemed to be a good guy, but was very rushed and did not provide a proper eye exam. His staff did not perform any of the machine test, the pupils were not dilated, and they did not perform the color blind tests. The staff was very unpleasant and not very friendly they answered my questions with such attitude and yelled at my wife when she explained she wanted to use her own frames and not get new ones with the insurance. We went back and forth about the issue and advised we wanted the frames we brought. Sylvia rudely advised they cannot fill the lens prescription on those frames with my insurance, at this point my wife was upset because over the phone the front office said they would. If i could give this place 0 stars I definitely would. Our main focus was getting a good prescription for our son so his vision would not get worst. My gut feeling told us to get a second opinion and we did, low and behold the prescription was way off and the doctor really did not care. His office manager is his wife and she really could care less about you or any other patient in that office, especially those "problematic IEHP patients" at the end of the day we are still patients and deserve equal treatment like any other patient. Either Sylvia is just a cold hearted witch or she really doesn't like those "low-income IEHP patients". After the huge difference in prescription from our 2nd opinion we demanded our frames and money back and canceled our "problematic IEHP" order , as they call it, and will be taking our business elsewhere. If you don't want to deal with bad attitudes and waste 6-8 weeks waiting for glasses I would highly recommend to go ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!!!! read more

It saddens me to see the negative reviews suggesting that Sylvia and Dr Ledesma provide anything short of excellent patient care and customer service. During my last visit, Sylvia went out of her way to ensure I had what I needed before traveling back home. They are truly caring people who work tirelessly to provide exceptional patient care. Ever since I was little, I had an eye condition that optometrists never really educated me on or listened to me about. The only solution for them was to give me an extremely high prescription (that would make me see blurry) and send me on my way without any explanation. I came to Dr. Ledesma in hopes that he would listen and could help me understand what's going on. He listened to me and did everything to find out if there's an underlying issue. He even dilated my eyes knowing that it would keep me there after hours, because he wanted to figure it out. Although my eye condition was found to be untreatable, he gave me just the right prescription which allowed me to see soooo much better! Thank you Dr. Ledesma! I will start of by saying that Dr. Ledesma is a great optometrist. He sees many patients and is able to do it all with ease and makes sure that he can assist you the best way he can. When I came for my visit he was literally taking one patient after another. When it was my turn he was very personable and patient and answered all my questions. Dr. Ledesma prescribed a brand of lenses that I have never used before and that his staff would explain how to care for them. The low score is because of his staff unfortunately. This was my first visit to the office because I recently moved back to this area. My previous optometrist was in Riverside which I loved but thought I could find one closer to me. First off they charge a $60 fitting fee which I have never heard of before this visit. I have been going to an optometrist for the last 13 years and have never been charged this fee. After doing some research I hear that it is somewhat common but it would've been nice if they had disclosed that before the exam or when I made my appointment. After the exam I was assisted by Annette who would normally help the patient choose frames or order contacts. I explained that I just wanted my prescription and that I would order my contacts online since they're so much cheaper. She was trying to insist that I order them there since I had enough to order one box. We went through this back and forth discussion that I did not want to order lenses and she kept telling me that I should. This mad for an awkward discussion and she came across very rude and disappointed that I did not order them. I've been ordering my lenses online for a past few years and have never had an optometrist give me a problem. I understand that they are trying to sell their lenses but to argue with me back and forth was very unprofessional. She also never explained how to care for the lenses like Dr. Ledesma stated she would. So I order my contacts online and file a claim with my vision insurance a few months later (I was procrastinating a little bit there) and see that Ledesma Optomety filed a claim for contacts so I did not have any funds left. I called them and spoke to Sylvia, the office manager. She explained that I could get a box of contacts (which I didn't want) or get a refund. I went in to get a refund and was helped by a younger girl who didn't gave me a warm welcome but was nice at the end of the transaction. Sylvia helped her process the return but never acknowledged me or apologized for the mistake. I am a manager in the financial services industry so I am aware of how you should treat a patient, customer, or client. I have not idea why they have so many high ratings with "great staff." I would rate their service mediocre if not poor. I will never return to this establishment again or recommend to anyone. I'm glad that other reviewers received positive treatment and hopefully my experience was just a one off. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this optometry. It's a beautiful clean office in a nice location, parking was easy to find. First of all the staff was great very welcoming I had my first appointment with them on the 11 because I wanted to get contacts. I was a bit scared about getting them since I have only worn glasses. The doctor was very friendly and caring. We had an actual conversation and heard all my concerns. He did my eye exam informed me on what I needed and did not need which was great because I ended up saving money. I loved the fact his staff took the time and explained to me what I needed to do and never felt discourage when they had me practicing proper techniques on putting and taking off my contacts. My first appointment I only lasted 45 minutes my follow up appointment was barely 20 minutes. I will go back for sure I still need to get another pair of glasses.
