He told me to go to the emergency room immediately. I am glad I did, he may have saved my eye and possibly my life. I've been coming to James Espinosa, OD since around 2017, and I absolutely love this place. From the moment you walk in, it feels personal, they know my name, and the welcome is always genuine. The manager, Jenny, is amazing and truly keeps everything running smoothly. Dr. Espinosa is cool, approachable, and clearly cares about his patients. On my most recent visit, I saw their newer doctor, Dr. Fabrizio, and she took great care of me as well, super attentive and professional. They always have a great selection of lenses and frames, they take insurance, and what I really appreciate is how helpful they are when it comes to choosing frames. They actually give honest feedback and help you decide what looks best, instead of leaving you to figure it out on your own. If you're single and need someone to externally process frames with you, this is definitely the place to go, they've got you covered! Overall, it's just a fun, friendly, welcoming office. I was outsourced to this optometrist by the VA medical center, so that I could get a prescription, give it to the VA, and have my glasses made. On my initial visit, everything went like it should when you have an appointment like this. I received my prescription and I was on my way. I took the prescription to the VA, they made my glasses and sent them to me. I also had some glasses made on Glassesusa.com. Those were also sent to me. Upon trying both pairs of glasses on, they were both blurry. On my second visit to the office, I explained that my glasses were blurry, they took my glasses and checked them, then proceeded to make me another appointment so that I could get another prescription. So In other words, they made a mistake somewhere. I asked if they had the lenses for the frames with the new prescription and if they could fix it same day. I didn't ask to have them done for free and I wasn't asking for any type of handout. After I asked that question, the older Mexican lady (one that I had never seen before) acted very rude and spoke to me like I was some kind of peasant. She told me that I would have to go through the companies that made my glasses and have them put In the new prescriptions because I didn't buy the glasses from them. Also that if I wanted them to correct their mistake, I would have to pay $99 out of pocket and even tried to upsell me on special lenses. I'm glad my wife was not there because she would have humbled this lady. So I guess now, I'm gonna have to make another appointment and take the new prescription back to the VA medical center, so they can make me another pair of glasses. I also have to send back the glasses that I purchased from GLASSESUSA.COM, and have another pair made and shipped. Either way, I don't have glasses currently with the correct prescription. I'll be squinting for the next few weeks until I get my new glasses (AGAIN). I think what bothered me the most is that they tried to blame the online company for their mistake, so they didn't have to admit fault to their mistake, but if that was the case, only the glasses I purchased online would be blurry, but both pair of glasses I had made were blurry. The ones the Va made and the ones I purchased online If you are a VETERAN and going through the VA, I recommend finding a different optometrist office, so that you don't have to go through what I'm going through. I'm also going to put In a complaint with the VA medical center. I hope this helps. Eric read more

Updated review : due to threatening letters from Doctors attorney. Certain details removed I have been coming here for years but my last visit was just unreal during my actual exam Dr. Espinosa decided to discuss politics like how COVID wasn't that serious , ( mind you there was a COVID questionnaire I had to fill out prior to seeing him) I informed I had Covid and he joked about it (actual statement removed) he also went on to discuss MEDICARE for illegal immigrants was not good and how he didn't like the newly elected (Gascon) I really don't care for his political views however they are not appropriate during an exam. I finally told him the conversation needed to stop and finish the exam. Let me not forget how he was very pushy about Buying glasses from his office. I informed him that I buy my glasses online and his response was " glasses online are discontinued and you can't find the parts for them and your insurance doesn't cover them" which in fact my insurance does cover them. This will be my last visit I struggled with writing this review but I am writing to inform others and prevent anyone else from having to feel uncomfortable. He was unprofessional and pushy like a car salesman and just so you know he's never on time with his appointments.
