Me and my friends came on a Saturday night and it we were seated right away. The server was fast and attentive but my friends didn't feel the friendliness. It was quite relaxing and chic ambiance. We only got pastas here and I got the Radiatore Guancale, which for some reason lacked flavor. Given the price of it, it was so not worth it. I wish I tried more dishes cause it seems like other reviewers liked other dishes. This particular pasta just was not par to other pasta dishes I've tried in other Italian restaurants so far. Parking might be challenging since they only have street parking. I might give this place another try again since other reviews look promising. read more

The ambiance is great and the music selection is also relaxed My partner HATES pasta & Italian food but he's a huge fan of Blair's pasta dishes. We love Blair's! My wife and I have been to all the notable Italian restaurants in the area (Union, Marina, Bestia, etc) and Blair's competes with the best of them. The food is always phenomenal clearly made with the highest quality ingredients, the service is incredible yet comfortable, and a wonderful indoor decor. We love it so much we had our wedding reception here last year, and it couldn't have been more perfect. As a result, we've tried just about the whole menu and there isn't a dud on there. The whole menu is our favorite but some notable items we recommend are the funghi pasta, the Pomodoro, shrimp vodka, and bruschetta w/ burrata. Really can't speak highly enough about Blair's. The bucatini especially looked appetizing! - Marinated olives, market green salad, and burrata toast were all standard, pretty tasty. - Arugula cesar salad with breadcrumbs and pickled onions was excellent! - fedelini. ragu bolognese. = learned that fedelini is almost like angel hair pasta as it's quite thin. It did not hold up for very long against the ragu and was clumped up and mushy in parts of the dish - radiatore. guanciale. = this was the most disappointing one as the sauce had seized up when it was served. I wish I said something as I think even the restaurant would have understood. good flavor because it's hard to make cheese, guanciale, and pasta taste bad but it was not well executed. - gnocchetti. mushroom. = this was probably the best pasta dish of the night as the sauce was creamy, had a lot of mushrooms, and pasta was well cooked! Overall, the food could have been better so not sure if this is their typical standard, just an off night, or maybe pasta is just not their forte. The pizza did look fluffy and we didn't try any mains so maybe those choices would be better. Really cute restaurant with a relaxed vibe. Came here for the 1st time and had a great experience! The signage was not great (very hard to see from the street) but once you walk in the restaurant is warm and fresh with a cute patio section out back. We were greeted by John (super friendly) as soon as we walked in and when we were seated, the manager Nick came over and help recommend a few dishes. Everything he recommended was dead on. The salads were unique and tasty and the pastas were amazing (I personally recommend the Campanelle Mushrooms - sooooo good). This place is comparable to Bestia!! The rustic feel of the place and a few tables for intimate setting made an impression. And we were not casually dress for the occasion. The fault lies with us as we were looking for dinner within Eagle Rock area. However, it is a bit pricey considering it is the alternative for Tic Tac Toe Pizza whose order were a done deal since 6pm on a Saturday night! No more dough! The pasta is too salty for my taste. Bread with soggy toppings is not what I have in mind. My friend made a comment about his servings. Recommending the calamari for appetizer. Paid the bill with the lady in the counter making unnecessary side remarks. Kinda make you feel afterwards that we are not welcome or not their expected customer traffic. Over $30 for 4oz of branzino (a fish that is typically served whole and therefore pretty misleading if one didn't ask). This kind of fish goes for about $12-$15 at the fish store so that's literally a $4 piece of fish they have on the plate (if they are paying top dollar at the fish market), with a smattering of greens on the side and charging over $30...I know we are making up for COVID guys but 8x mark up is going too far (average for restaurants is 3-4x). All that said, the staff is lovely and very friendly and the outdoor patio is charming with lavender sage and olive trees. Not sure how busy they are during prime evenings but if they offered more reasonable prices and a happy hour to attract more attention, as some neighbors have, this place has real potential. read more

The ambiance and food was good, the bread was amazing. The pasta was nice, as was the salad. Their wine could have been better. We had reservations and several tables were free when we arrived. My pregnant wife asked for a table away from the front door as it was a chilly night. They offered us a table near the kitchen. I said we'd prefer the table for 2 in the center that is vacant. The immediate response was "no, we can't." I responded in an irritated manner with "but you have several empty tables. " We have a system," he said, showing me his tablet as if it was something super complicated. I was then more upset and made it clear we would not accept his answer. He said, "Let me see what I can do." He opened the tablet, made a change and gave us the center table. It took seconds. A customer should not have to insist on a table change when clearly it's available and easy to accommodate. The two tables we had initially been offered remained vacant until 30 minutes later when the restaurant picked up. Next time just provide better service when a client asks for a table accommodation and it's available. Don't say you can't when you clearly can. read more

Loved loved loved Blair's!!! I did not know such a cute spot existed in my neighborhood. Came here with a friend for dinner and ended up having an awesome night. They had set up fire picnic tables outdoors and have an actual barricade that separated the cars from the street from the dining area. They had an extensive menu with a lot of different options. I think this would be a great spot if your party has various dietary restrictions or even appetites. Their wine selection seemed vast (not a big wine connoisseur), but I definitely enjoyed my glass! The best eggplant parmigiana I've ever had. Our table couldn't get enough, it was perfectly balanced, light, tender, and had a depth of favors that I did not know the dish could possess. This is not a gooey cheesy parmigiana similar to old school Italian joints, but rather an enhanced and beautiful plate highlighting the correct way to prepare an eggplant. First of all, they do not have any white sparkling wine, only rose. Literally every thing they have is rose. When I came in I passed the people that walked in because I was asking where my mom should park cuz she had found parking outside and I needed to know if it was OK. And after, he rudely pointed to the couple behind me and said " they were here first." I'm sorry but there's been times that people that cut before me were served first and I just waited cuz I didn't wanna be RUDE. You never know why someone cuts you off. Maybe they're ADD and they're not paying attention. I don't judge. All I know is you should be nice to everyone, inconsiderate or not. It's not just part of customer service--it's part of HUMANITY. I can't believe I haven't been to Blair's after living very close to both locations. The food was great! And there was very little crowd despite it being a Friday. Come support this location, I hope it never leaves! Taste: we got the market salad, the mussels fedellini, the charred broccolini, bread and butter, and a couple of glasses of orange wines. The broccolini came first and was delicious, tangy and yogurt-y. Next, we had the market salad, which was simple, the dressing was citrusy and savory, I think. The mussels fedelini was really nice, not overpowering with that seafood flavor, but just a touch of funk. And of course bread and butter was The only thing I'd say is if you don't like that taste of char from a gas grill/butane torch, you might notice it on the broccolini. But I think the flavor still came through and it was actually still my favorite. Experience: The wait staff sat us right away, food was brought in a timely way, water was refilled attentively, no complaints. The open airiness of the restaurant before sunset would be my ideal time to come! Mood Before/After: I was in an ok mood beforehand, just got back from the gym and showered. My mood went up after this meal, so happy to have finally tried Blair's. Fullness: All this food was shared between two people and it was just right. We had some left over bread even. Had dinner here last week. Was excited to try it based on the pictures and Yelp reviews. However, it turned out quite disappointing. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us. We flagged someone down and he told us to go to the patio. After seating, we were given some water. It tasted like rotten apples or alcohol. I tried to drink it but it was totally disgusting that I eventually poured it out. We ordered a salad and 2 pastas. It was disappointing to hear that the garlic bread was not available. The server who seemed lovely in her nice dress didn't even bother to make any suggestions. But oh well. While we were waiting, I noticed all the beautiful bruschetta that the tables around us were enjoying. I wanted to order it but our server was awol. In fact, she never came back to our table until the very end to give us the check. She didn't stop by to see how things were doing, nothing. The guy who brought out the food was the only helpful person. He got us more water - this time it tasted like bleach but it was better than the first time. He got us to go boxes. I got the spaghetti bolognese which usually it was really good. It wasn't bland and totally boring. Borderline flavorless and mushy. The breadcrumbs gave it some texture but I was surprised that the sauce was so dull and the meat was microscopic. A mess for $25. My friend got the gnocchetti. sausage. chard. pecorino which was significantly better. The salad we shared was uneventful. I think one problem is the menu has no description so when we got the salad, I was surprised to see a ton of pickles. The menu only says "market salad.lemon dressing.herbs". I don't like pickles but luckily these weren't too bad (well they were flavorless). Anyways, it's a cute spot. They played loud R&B/Soul music. Service was terrible (I'm referring to the server in the long dress who walked around all the tables besides us, I waved at her a few times but was ignored). Great place for some local LA Italian. Great service, cool vibe, excellent wine choices if you are into that and know your way around a well thought out limited wine list, and some really delicious Italian pasta dishes. Lots of other LA Italian-y bites as well. Had the bread service which is clearly a thing now with restaurants trying to outdo each other with local fresh Artisanal bread staring at $12. It was a massive slab of fresh seeded bread accompanied by salted butter. Really good, really fresh, like bread from 300 years ago would have been and def goods enough to bring home the other half that we simply could not plow through. Highly recommend the calamari with Fresno chili, excellent combination of flavors, along with the buratta bruschetta: lots of garlic and lots of flavor, plus it looks beautiful. The beet salad with fried goat cheese was an especially nice appetizer that really becomes more of a meal. Excellent flavors and the fried goat cheese is a really nice touch. Moved onto the radiatore with guanciale, making for an excellent heavy rich pasta with really wonderful flavor. Finally, the striped Seabass, cooked over a wood fire, giving it incredible depth of flavor. Add to that some vermouth on ice and a couple glasses of Pigato and you have a great evening. Come on over hipsters! Put on those pants you picked out at the thrift store especially for this occasion with your $500 sneakers and have yourself some quality Italian right here in Eagle Rock! Beautiful little Italian restaurant located in the heart of Eagle Rock on Colorado Boulevard. Stopped in on a Wednesday night at 6 without a reservation and scooted into a table. Blair's stars of the show seem to be their handmade pastas, so we stuck with those. We tried the bruschetta, the gnochetti and the tonnarelli. Bruschetta was my favorite, can't go wrong with soft cheese paired with crispy bread. Yum! The gnochetti and the tonnarelli were both hearty pastas. The tonnarelli was cooked to a perfect al dente. The pork sausage in the gnochetti is also noteworthy. I personally preferred the tonnarelli because the gnochetti had a lot of parmesan cheese which I thought dominated the dish. For two people I would recommend ordering an entree as well as sharing an appetizer as portions are on the smaller side. I do wish they provided a slightly more diverse wine selection. For reds, they only had Pinot Noirs. Maybe a Sangiovese, a Chianti, or even a Cabernet Sauvignon? read more

One time they had trout and it was *chefs kiss* pizza was ok, the olives are so and so but the fish they have is a must try. Blair's is the neighborhood Italian restaurant that you need in your life. it's not a red and white checked tablecloth kind of place. Their food is not generic Italian at all and it combines interesting food with casual environment, which is why it is so perfect. We always start out with the Bruscetta with burrata and tomato. Ciabatta has been toasted or fried and then topped with gooey burrata diced cherry tomatoes. The bread is crisp, there's just a hint of garlic and it's all nicely seasoned. Our favorite pasta are the Tonnarelli, a fat spaghetti, with guanciale, which reminds me of a carbonara. It's smoky and salty from the guanciale every strand is coated with a luscious creamy sauce. We've also ordered the Gnochetti with Pork Sausage. The Roast Chicken comes with a white bean, spinach, and caramelized onions and a creamy sauce. The roasted brocolli is a nice size with a tart lemon vinagrette but a little heavy handed in raw garlic. With just 2 servers, Blairs is casual, efficient, and a good addition to your rotation. read more

Just had a great dinner at Blair's. The patio in the back has a really nice and relaxing feel to it. Just a nice place to hang out and enjoying their offerings. Very family friendly! Eater LA just recently had an article about the best patios in LA to expect and enjoy. The one at Blair's should have easily been on that list. The food offerings that we had were very flavorful and well presented. Many good choices across the categories especially with the pastas and appetizers. Nice drink menu also. Service was spot on. Very pleasant but not intrusive. But there quickly when something is needed. Makes you feel relaxed while being attended to. That balance is hard to find these days. And many thanks to Emma and Hugo for delivering that level of service. I hadn't been to Blair's in a while and shame on me. They should have been on my radar much more frequently. The ambiance was nice. The service was good. For the price the portion was small ( come on its pasta how much does it cost) I ordered a glass of their most expensive wine. The first glass had gnat floating around in it, the second glass was clean but the wine was old. It tasted like vinegar with very high RS. Bottom line, I left hungry and disappointed. read more
