We came back and we got the burger this time. It was SO GOOD! I loved it. We also got the Brussels sprouts and that was delicious too: sweet, savory and the tofu cream was unique. Of course, I had to get the chocolate mousse/pudding again. It did not disappoint. It tasted just as good as the first time I had it. I also recommend the Yuzu Lime drink: super refreshing! The flat iron steak was just ok. The sauce it came in was overly salty. That was the only negative. Our server, Hannah was friendly, warm and attentive. The entire staff from the hostess who greeted us to our server, to the bartender were all super nice tonight. The butter that came with the bread service was yummy too. It had a nice kick to it. Overall, another pleasant experience.

My expectations for this restaurant was way higher than what I got. For many years I've driven past this place and have always wanted to try it. Finally tried it for my 9th wedding anniversary. I do appreciate they have a kids menu, since we did have to bring our son with us to dinner. The craft cocktails were very yummy. I was able to get a "mocktail" since I was pregnant. The salad and bread were excellent. My steak wasn't the greatest. Even though I asked for medium rare, it was still chewy. My husband's shrimp and grits were ok as well. The service was ok in terms of how quick we got everything. Took a little longer than it should've, it wasn't that busy for a Tues night. Our waitress was nice. The restaurant is very small and close quarter tables. You will definitely be a part of your neighbors convo and they a part of yours. Overall I was disappointed in this place. I'm glad I did try it and I most likely will not be going back.

Great little date night spot or celebration of any sort. They got live music on certain nights too! They have a sweet outdoor seating with nice lights. Gf and I shared a couple plates and left full and satisfied. They have a chef app of the week and it was the elote salad for us. The salad was fresh and tasty. We also tried the jerky pork chop and beef stroganoff. for the app, the ham and biscuits was great. They surprised us with a little chocolate cake for my girlfriend's birthday, which was very sweet of them. Parking can be found in the street.,

I've seen Little Beast on Colorado for many years and have been wanting to try it out. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. The food and quality were good, but the dishes weren't unique or memorable. Personally, I felt the flavors of each dish lacked depth. The items we ordered were the freshly warmed bread and butter, the Elote salad, the little beast burger, the pork chop, and the beef stroganoff. The pricing and the serving size for the food items matched. Our server was lovely and service was on point. We sat indoors and the decor inside was cute. Not sure I would come back again since there are a lot of places in the area worth trying, but maybe with a group of friends.

My husband and I came here years ago and not sure why it took me 10 years to come back. Because it's a great little gem. The dining room is small and cozy. There is another lower level I hadn't seen before, so the dining area is relatively big. They have a full bar at the entrance. I had a couple nice cocktails. The first one I asked for, they didn't have but the bartender made me another one with mezcal and it was delicious. Their spicy margarita is awesome. We had it with mezcal as well. The food was superb. We had the shrimp and grits, very filling and rich with crispy Brussels sprouts and we also shared the stroganoff. To end dinner we had the chocolate cake. Service was attentive and on point.

Came here on a weekday night for our anniversary. It was pretty busy but the waiter made sure we were good and kept checking in on us. We sat outside which felt really nice since it wasn't cold or too hot. I love that they had live music that day. The food came out pretty quickly and for the starter we had the ham and biscuit plate which was delicious. It had 3 different spreads to try which all went well with everything. I just wished we had an extra biscuit since we had a lot of the dip / spread left over. The salad was delicious as well and refreshing. We got the pork dish for the main meat and it also had mango which was interesting. It was delicious but I would like to try something else next time. The pasta was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Overall highly recommend this place!

Little Beast is a small, date night type restaurant that's in a little bungalow and makes you feel like you're in a home. Good for when you want something a little more chill and intimate with some small plates and heartier entrees. We came on a late Saturday night for an 8:45pm reservation and was surprised they had a small outdoor patio tucked away with a few other diners. We got two glasses of red wine (Malbec and Tempranillo), their $16 Wild Arugula Caesar, $33 Shrimp & Grits and $35 Beef Stroganoff for entrees. Prices aren't the cheapest, but I was happy to note that their shrimp & grits were very hearty, peppery and roasted with a big flavor and plump shrimp and buttery grits, and their beef stroganoff was made with bucatini noodles and tender strips of beef, in a lemony cream broth sauce. The changes to classic shrimp & grits and beef stroganoff were welcome and comforting, and I was happy they were fair portion sizes, compared to other dining places. They closed at 10pm and we were the last ones there, quickly finishing up my glass of red and signing our check off. Emma our waiter was nice and let me try a sample of their Malbec or Sangiovese (Malbec with its smoky black currant won me over), and she didn't do too much except check in every once in a while, while we were totally okay dining in peace. The little beast in me was happy and full after dining here. The rich, bold flavors and well-portioned entrees and red wine to boot were great. They serve classic American comfort foods at fine-dining portions and a higher fare. A great little spot to dine and treat yourself. Would love to catch their live music Wednesdays and cocktails another time!

We had a lovely evening at Little Beast; the atmosphere and service are truly wonderful. However, the food was a bit of a hit-or-miss for our table. I had the chicken dish, which was incredibly flavorful and well-prepared, though it leaned quite heavily on the salt. We also noticed several other dishes were oversalted as well. We tried the salmon and were surprised to find it served quite rare--we were told that's their standard preparation, but it felt a bit underdone for our preference. Lastly, the charcuterie board felt a bit small for the price point compared to other local spots. There is so much potential here because the flavors are bold, but a lighter hand with the seasoning would make a huge difference!

    Salmon

They give people updates about when their food is ready . The butter pasta is very good and is very buttery. The pork ragú have different flavors to it, with the sausage and peppers. The salmon has an Indian curry underneath and it is a little spicy with lemon. All the food has a nice combination of flavors! The lighting is nice and creates a homey cottage vibe, perfect for families.

How many people can sit in your outdoor space and is it possible to book the outdoor space for a gathering of 20?

Is a reservation required? If so, how far in advance must one call ahead?

Yes, especially in the evenings and weekends. You go onto Resy to make the reservation. It's really varies on the day you looking for, of course holidays are hard too book. But you can also get a reservation for the same night sometimes.

Can you accommodate for a party of 20 on a Saturday afternoon?

Unfortunately, no. It is too cumbersome for our service staff to handle.

There is a very small lot -handicapped parking and maybe 1-2 other spaces. But, it's quite easy to park on the street or across Colorado.

Not a good look when the only POC in the building are being made to feel like we don't belong considering most of us are from here. Felt a bit Rosa Parks to me which is most definitely not the vibe. Glassell Park is a hidden neighborhood in Los Angeles, anyway, and if you don't know what you are looking for, you might zip right past W&S, as we did. Parking is hit and miss, but there are side streets and you will find a space if you give yourself an extra 15 minutes before you come. The neighborhood is mysterious to me, sort of pricey grunge & hipster, iykwim. But! Once you are inside, you are in a completely different world. Bright, clean, genteel, muted, with dappled sunlight dripping through various apertures and alighting in a soft glow here and there on shining metal tables. It's beautiful. Some catchy upbeat contempo-pop music streamed steadily at just the right volume overhead. I found myself resisting the temptation to get up and dance. There are several rooms from which to choose, but I wanted to be seated on the wine-red suede banquette that gave me a view of the whole restaurant and out onto the tree-canopied street. From the time we arrived to the moment we left about an hour later, we were showered with warm smiles and attentive service. And the food? Exquisite. See my pictures. It was hard to choose. One tiny disappointment was they were out of the biscuits that I wanted to start with, but I enjoyed the crusty tender Clark Street bread slices served with warm creamery butter instead. It only got better from there. The two bowls we ordered were filled with fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection, topped with an egg prepared as we requested, i.e., over medium. The portions are modest and it was all so good, we didn't take anything home. We ordered coffee and were brought two tall steaming mugs of Americano, smooth, dark, and delicious. Best of all was the Lemon Lavender cake, a seasonal specialty. Honestly, it might be one of the best, moistest, most flavorful and elegant cakes I have ever had. So fantastic, that I just ordered some lavender buds (if I don't collect them from our garden) to replicate it at home. I don't drink much alcohol but if I did, I would head here for one of their experiences or tastings -- they have a formidable list. Check all this out. And hurry if you want to have Lemon Lavender cake.

Everyone also didn't feel particularly welcoming, from the hostess to the waitress (no smiles). Thankfully, we were seated outside for some fresh air, although the warm murky smell still lingered a bit outdoors. The menu seem fairly limited since nothing really stood out to me as especially exciting. I've studied the menu prior before going, and was only looking forward to their burger, but they didn't have it during dinner apparently. While the dishes were descripted very well on the menu, there was no depth in flavors. I'm talking about the pork belly, lamb chops, tartare, Spanish octopus, and especially the seasonal pasta. I'm happy that it wasn't overly salty, but overall the food tasted mediocre and felt a bit basic. I'm only saying this because I could make it myself, at least the lamb, fatty pork belly, and pasta. Portions were also on the small side. Service was a bit slower as it took some time to get seated and receive our food, and one of our dishes was forgotten until we reminded the staff after already finishing most of the meal. On the positive side, we were able to find easy street parking about a block away, and the restaurant itself has a cozy ambiance that would probably be great for a chill dinner with some wine. However, my group left still feeling very hungry and unsatisfied. To be fair, we came in hungry, and the portions and long wait didn't help.

We ended up staying until about 9:30 p.m. and never felt rushed or pressured to order more. The staff was very friendly and made excellent recommendations, especially considering we were a bit picky -- one vegetarian, one pescatarian, and the other only likes dessert wines!! Definitely coming back with less picky people

Waiter Manuel. This…read moreis a review reflected on you, solely. Being kind is the moral of the story, from the beginning you were passive agressive with your comments and tone. Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.

The food pairs perfectly with the wine, and everything is genuinely mind-blowing to the tastebuds. The decor is meticulously and intentionally placed and makes the place feel so cozy. Whoever designed this restaurant is a true genius and perfectionist. They have a comprehensive multi-page wine menu that lists taste profiles and origins. I know nothing about wine, but if you're a wine snob, I'm sure you'll find great joy in choosing the right wine for you. The highlight of the experience was the staff working there. Emily and Alfredo are so very welcoming and kind. It's probably the best service I've received at a restaurant and I truly cannot overstate just how phenomenal they are. They went the extra mile to make us feel at home. On top of that, even though we've only been there a handful of times over the course of a year, they remembered us and even where we were visiting from. Thank you Emily and Alfredo!

The service was incredibly friendly and our winetender was very knowledgeable. She walked us through five different wines and explained the flavors and pairing suggestions in a way that was easy to understand. There was also a customer at the bar who was very friendly and showed us pictures of her wine adventures. She even recommended visiting Sonoma or Temecula for future wine tasting trips. We ended up choosing a red wine to bring to dinner and it was perfect. We would love to come back again the next time we are in Pasadena.

Ordered 5 à la carte rolls and each roll came out on time with little to no lag time between each. Also big bonus, the rolls were wrapped in a way where it was difficult for the fish to drop out. This made it super easy and clean to eat.

It needed some sauce on top in my opinion. Ikura & salmon - it had WAY too much wasabi inside and I normally love wasabi. I honestly couldn't even enjoy the roll. Also it was about $3 extra for this roll only to have 5 pieces of ikura at the top Toro - this was NOT toro...it was minced lean tuna with scallions....kinda diabolical to call it toro. Scallop - it honestly tasted like nothing to me. Normally I can taste the scallop. Crab - too much mayo and mixed with imitation crab because I saw some pink on top. Lobster - too much mayo and didn't taste like much. Spicy tuna - not spicy. I shouldn't have gotten this since we got the crispy rice already. yellowtail - I didn't try this but my bf said I didn't miss out on much. I will say their fish to rice ratio is good but their fish quality is just not there. And on top of that, prices are more expensive than kazunori. I remember liking their original location so I'm super shocked at this experience. Service from the staff and chef were attentive and nice, hence the 1 star given. Street parking is pretty easily found.
