Happy Hour menu (as of our 7/27/25 visit). Make sure to state that you want to order off of the HH drink menu.

We love this place! We stopped in again this past weekend for a pre-dinner cocktail and appetizer. Chayce (pronounced "Chase") waited on us and the service was excellent. Once again, we sat out on the balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding hills. Apart from the children in the pool below, this is a very tranquil spot to imbibe your drinks and food. Complimentary valet parking is usually offered, but tips are appreciated. On this visit, the parking lot was open to self-parking. DRINK & FOOD: Tip, when ordering off the Happy Hour menu, make sure to state that you want the HH drink. We ordered Old Fashioneds and received the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned ($17), which was well made and tasty, but more expensive than the HH version which is only $10. We also ordered our favorite, the Zucchini Fries which come with an amazing housemade ranch dipping sauce. The Chevy Chase country club is private, but The Sycamore (bar/restaurant) is open to the public. If you haven't checked it out, I highly recommend you do so.

Where do we begin: I grew up 5 homes down the street from the Chevy Chase Country club. Wandered the summer evenings reading mystery novels, watching deer, and listening to frogs sing at dusk. Have returned to my home territory like a Costa Rican sea turtle for our wedding here. First things first: lots of dinners here with friends/fam for decision making and get a lay out of the newly renovated grounds and restaurant. The ambiance is modern and bucolic, and elegant. And a grand fireplace, which always feels like home. We've dinned outside on the terrace and inside fireplace adjacent. Both are private and tucked way, which I appreciate. I'm vegetarian and have ordered the bow tie pasta, the lentil soup, Cesar salad, and crème brûlée. They were all fantastic, but less salt on the lentils. I would order them again and prefer to be in the habit of knowing precisely what I want. :) My fiance has ordered the pan-seared salmon, and Brussels sprouts appetizers as well. Both which he found delicious. The price point is comfortable and the service on point. Parking is easy peezy on the grounds, and appreciate the electric car chargers as well guys. Will be back shortly for additional vegetarian pasta+the wedding, thanks for the hospitality.

I would say my experience at The Sycamore inside Chevy Chase Country Club was fairly mixed. I will say that the servers are really lovely and helpful. Although sometimes, you have to chase them down as they seem to be responsible for tending bar, the indoor areas, the outdoor patios, and even the poolside bar-- I don't know how they can attend to all of those places at the same time. I loved my Oaxaca Old Fashioned. Refreshing and smoky. The Crispy Brussel Sprout appetizer was also delicious. The Sycamore Kitchen Burger was mediocre (seemed like they used a frozen patty) and the kids' chicken strips and fries were massive but a bit on the salty side. It's possible that I just ordered the wrong dishes or it was an off-day. On the plus side, the view is lovely, and the country club offers free parking.

C 4 Breakfast Burrito with Short Rib substitute is the best!

The Sycamore Restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town! Located at the Chevy Chase Country Club, it feels like a hidden gem, and best of all, you don't need to be a member to enjoy it. The atmosphere is beautiful whether you're seated inside the spacious dining room or outside with a view of the golf course. I went on a Sunday and tried the C4 Breakfast Burrito with a short rib substitute (instead of bacon), hands down the best thing I've had on the menu so far. Absolutely delicious! Our waitress was incredibly friendly and spot-on with her recommendation. Service like that makes the experience even better. This place has become a regular go-to for me and my extended family, and everyone always leaves happy. It's never so crowded that you can't get a table, which makes it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend The Sycamore if you're looking for great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Its located inside a country club and we came here thinking it was unlimited mimosas... but that's only on the weekends. - Caprese Beet Salad 2/5 Pieces of mozzarella and beets and peaches? It wasn't a very good tasting salad. - Calamari 4/5 The Calamari was crispy and was okay. No dipping sauce. - Bang bang shrimp 4/5 It was really good with not much pieces of shrimp compared to price. It was also soggy because the sauce was coated. - Shrimp stir fry 1/5 Not good. Free parking in a big lot.

Great service and good food at a spacious patio! Got to enjoy the beautiful sun with delicious pineapple mimosas advised by Manuel! Bring a family along and let kids run around! They'll enjoy it for sure!

SO great! Taco Tuesday tacos are RAD! Great views, pet friendly on the patio, and delicious margaritas. Real gem of a spot and everyone was so dang nice.

    The Cubano

Yummy food. Great service. I've been twice and have been very happy. Both times I've had the Turkey bacon avocado club. Crispy shoestring frie My friend had the Cubano which she said was delicious. It was loaded with a pork & ham mixture in addition to the usual cheese, pickle, etc. Another friend had the Clubhouse Cobb salad & again was very happy. We also split an orderof the Crispy Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze - they were great. Very pleasant ambiance with OLD photos of the Chevy Chase Country club ( where the restaurant is located) which were very cool. Great view. Patio seating available.

Braised short rob and gnocchi was delicious!

We are not members here. Just nearby Glendale residents who enjoy a nice lunch, strong country club mimosas, and delicious brunch. I have also been here on a weekday for lunch, and it is very quiet and empty most of the time, which makes it a great spot for a casual lunch time catch up with a friend. Parking is pretty ample. Servers are kind. The grounds are beautiful! I highly recommend the brunch as it is much more lively and -- I repeat -- the mimosas are yummy and strong!

GORGEOUS PLACE TO ENJOY A MEAL ================================ DETAILS: ======== I met my good friend Rose Linda for lunch on Friday, January 17, 2019 at The Sycamore and I can't wait to go back. It is a restaurant within the Chevy Chase Country Club, however you do not need to be a member to dine there. I highly recommend it. FOOD: 5/5 STARS =============== Rose Linda is a serious wine connoisseur, but it was lunch and I wasn't sure if she was in the mood for wine. She was so we asked to try a couple tastings before we chose something. We chose three, however they were out of the Domaine Confuron-Gindre Burgundy so we chose the Niner-Red from Paso Robles and Rusack Pinot Noir from the Santa Rita Hills. The Rusack tasted like it had been open and the Niner was really good so we went for that. We both ordered the Cobb salad and that was delicious. The chef came out and said they didn't get their bacon delivery, but he used pork belly. That was amazing and I ate every last bit. SERVICE: 3/5 STARS: =================== They need to work on this because we basically had the whole restaurant to ourselves, but we had to wait a bit to get water and our menus in the beginning. Once we ordered things started going better. AMBIANCE: 5/5 STARS: ==================== This restaurant is part of Chevy Chase Golf Club. The interior is beautiful and the view through the windows is gorgeous. At lunch we were already talking about coming back for dinner. We had met for happy hour at the bar before and that is nice too. PARKING: 5/5 STARS: ================== There is plenty of free parking.

OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... After giving him the password, he opened the doors and we walked in. We were surprised in several ways. The place is way bigger than I would expect for a place named "The Speakeasy". And at 6:30pm on a Sunday, we were the only guests inside. Only one other couple came in during the 30 minutes we were there. I would assume they are a lot busier on Friday and Saturday night. It is dimly lit, and very red inside. The bar is large with many bottles of liquor on display and many seats. The rest of the space is one large area that must have at least 20 tables, and the ceiling is high. It gives off more of a nightclub vibe than a speakeasy vibe. I tried the Naked & Famous cocktail which has two of my favorite spirits (Vida mezcal, aperol, yellow Chartreuse, lime, $18). It was nicely balanced with a good mix of smoke and herbal flavor. She had the Pablo's Poison (Altos reposado tequila, strawberry, lime, jalapeno, elderflower, $17). The jalapeno flavor really stood out with strawberry and elderflower in the background. They have a good cocktail menu with almost twenty cocktails, as well as a food menu with ten items. Walk up to the bar to order your drinks.
