My itsa burger was good. I wished the fries were hotter though. They were good. Service was good and the store appeared clean through the drive thru window. I'll give it a try again. Went back here for a quick bite. I have already reviewed this place but the staff were so great I had to give them a pat on the back. Stephane took my order & very helpful getting me to try something new. Told her I have a tendency to order the same thing. Worked out great. Alex brought my order out, with a great smile. Decided to give this place a try and ordered a Lotaburger NM Style and a fry. The fries were a little soggy, but okay. The burger was quite large, and a nice surprise. The green chile had some heat, but it did not overpower the burger. I would definitely order this again. It is kind of expensive, but it's also a large burger. The staff was efficient and friendly and the build was clean and neat. There weren't many folks in there, which is a shame. This is a better burger than what you would get at Sonic, McD, Wendys, or BK. read more

I was told to try this place while visiting in town, so I did. I will admit, that I remember we had a location in AZ back in the early 70's & 80's; however, I never got to try it growing up. My co-worker recommended that I try the New Mexico burger (it was a double), so as I walked in to order and I was greeted by Zechariah. Since I have been watching what I eat, I wanted to special order my burger with no bun and use lettuce (extra order charge, which is fine). He was very accommodating, friendly and professional about. I also order the onion rings with it all to go. When I got back to the hotel, everything was still warm. The burger (not really seasoned, but had good flavor from the green chilies (that are diced). The onion rings were just onion rings, nothing special. I don't normally eat fast food burgers & sides regularly, but I was satisfied and everything was fine. This location is a regular size restaurant with plenty of seating inside and offers some outside space too. The place appeared clean and orderly. I've never had any issue with this Blake's until today. Went through the drive through for a breakfast egg and bacon burrito. Asked for extra crispy bacon on it. pulled to the window less than 45 seconds after I placed my order and I was handed my food. Wow! really! I mean I love fast service but no way they made my order fresh and they didn't. The burrito had been sitting for quite some time. The tortilla, potato and eggs were dry out and the bacon was chewy like old crappy jerky. Done with this location. read more

Blake's used to have great burritos. Then they started skimping on the green chile sauce in the burritos. I started ordering burritos with extra-chile and they have been 50% accurate with that. There are many times where I did not get extra even after paying for it. I ordered a Smothered Burrito yesterday. The cheese was not melted and opening it, it was not smothered. Even worse, there was no green chile inside the burrito. So basically, the green they would normally put in the burrito was just poured on top. Look at the pics...does that look smothered to you? 4.5 stars Blake's is a classic and convenient location to the Santa Ana Star Casino. The older woman at the drive thru was super sweet and friendly. I just got the Itsa burger with bacon, cheese, and green chile. She had asked me if I had wanted to try their new pumpkin shake. (I've had it before, but it's on my list for next time). Unfortunately, they royally screwed up my order. I asked for a single patty burger with the green chilies and cheese.....and they gave me a double patty with no chilies and no cheese. Ordered a #1 burrito with green chili and easy hash browns. The burrito had a ton of hash browns, and it hardly had green chili, and I did not find any egg. It was dry and crumbly. They are too slow! I've noticed this on several occasions. After about 1/2 hour of waiting just for a burger, I calmly asked for a refund. The manager gave me the refund but didn't show any remorse. We love Blake's but this one was awful. Location was in Bernalillo on Warrior Way. We recently moved to Placitas from the Valley and always went to the Blake's on 4th and Candelaria and expected the same quality because, hey, it's Blakes. This was bad. They got the order wrong and the food was cold after a 10 minute drive and not great. The wait was long, which can happen, but it was not worth it. I hope this location can get their act together, but we won't be trying this location again anytime soon. read more

Never eating here ever again. Service is terrible - ordered online to save time and THIRTY MINUTES LATER we got our food. This was only after we asked about it multiple times and the first person was incredibly rude. The manager was full of excuses with absolutely no apologies. This is a fast food restaurant is it not? I was under the impression that fast food was 10 min or less. Apparently it's not.... oh also we get a free meal next time but they didn't give us a card or anything that said that or take our information so it was really just a way to get us out the door. This location has been struggling with consistency. However, the last two Lotaburger's New Mexico style that I have had there have been fabulous. Like the ratings suggest, this place flat out sucks. The food is fast food but the service is absolute shït. I called up ahead by 30 minutes and when I got here my order was still not ready as was the case for at least 20 other customers who were also holed up in this place waiting for their food. The restaurants phone line was going off nonstop and it wasn't being answered but was flat out ignored. This place sucks. You might consider calling in an hour ahead to get your food, maybe then these people will have it ready.. Update: I've been here an hour and my order is still not ready.. Update 2: Got a refund after someone else did as well. Emilio the manager needs to be replaced with an eager teenager that actually wants to work. Is it possible to give zero stars? So much yuck and ick. I did the drive thru because we were craving Blake's green chile lotaburgers. I ordered three lotaburgers with mayo instead of mustard and add green chile. First of all, it took 30+ minutes for them to make three burgers when I was the only one in line with no one inside. They also made me itsa burgers instead of lotaburgers. They also didn't keep their masks on and kept breathing on my food. I reminded the girl when she came to the window to put her mask back on per health code and current laws and she rolled her eyes at me. I threw away the food because I couldn't trust it. Yum yum yum! We went to the drive through and got the NM style lots burger, fries and onion rings. We planned to go home to eat them BUT one taste of the onion rings and we are the food in the truck! Onion rings are amazing! They taste like the sweet Vidalia onion was used! The fries were fresh! Just paid $40 for 3 orders. 2 of the orders were wrong. This happens almost every time we go there. I went inside to order because of usual bad service at the drive up. Never get what we order! Order a double and get a single, saturated with mustard, Don't know if the cooks can't read or if the cashier puts it in wrong. Wafer thin patties so order a double and still get a single. I gave this store one star out of experience. Employees: not respectful, ones encountered weren't very kind to customers. Be careful the cashier charges for the large if you order a regular. So be aware for charges for items you didn't request for. Drive thru menu is not accurate and updated. Manager said they would take care of it but still a few months later it's still there Potatoes are no longer cooked stove top, it's made in oven on cookie sheets. It makes the potatoes hard. Store bought tortillas are over heated and makes the tortilla hard and it's start cracking. The burrito then becomes dry, not enough chili but will charge you for extra if requested. Definitely not the way it use to be. I wouldn't recommend going there because of their bad service towards customers and the food not so great. Otherwise the interior decor is nice! read more

Terrible. I don't know what happened but the experience was not good. First off, the interior design is ridiculous. We came in right before a rush and there were barely enough seats for all the people that came in after. On top of that, none of the tables were cleaned. There were crumbs and leftover paper napkins on our table. Now, in terms of service. We ordered the food through their online system just so we can get the food right as we get there (the food takes about 15 minutes to cook otherwise). We get to restaurant 15 minutes later and the food isn't done. So we grab our table and wait another 10 minutes. We go up to the counter and they had put our food in a heating cabinet. We had been waiting for nothing. On top of that, they forgot one of burgers. So while the rest of the family waited for that burger to be cooked, our food got cold. Overall it was just a bad experience and it is unlikely that will come here again. read more

I would like to give this a better review on basis of the food. I have been going to NM for a number of years and have not eaten at Blakes, but many friends said they loved their breakfast and others the burgers. Green chili on all of these things. I took the opportunity to try it out this last weekend with my brother. Food, pretty good. I customized my green chili burger with grilled onions and bacon. I liked it and the seasoned fries. I'd probably give it a 3-3.5 for the burger, BUT (you knew it was coming) the service was very slow. I didn't experience rudeness or anything of that sort, in fact, the person helping us at the drive-thru was great taking the order and passing it off to us. But if you are going to be a fast food place, it needs to be fast. We waited over 10 minutes for our food, as did other cars in front of us. It was not us waiting for those in front of us, as we waited for a while once we finally made it to the window. Speed it up, keep the good attitude (seemingly better than other reviews), and then my rating would go up. I would try a Blake's burger again. read more

We have never gotten a hamburger at this location that wasn't cold. They must pre- toast the buns and put them aside for later use. The meat must also be cooked ahead. For a burger to be cold, both bun and meat, there can't really be another explanation. The Blakes on North 4th Street serves a much better, fresher tasting and hot burger. The one here in Bernalillo suffers from poor management and dismal quality control. We have stopped eating there even though it is conveniently located. read more
