I love the Laguna burger and the Wimp is good too! The fries aren't great, though. The hot dog can be perfect, yet often the condiments are thrown in and really sloppy, making it hard to eat. I've tried some of the burger variations and they're delicious when you'd like a change. Salads are basic and the green chile stew is thin. The worst thing I can say is that one of the cashiers is way too assertive about soliciting tips at the register. Unprofessional, and rude when I finally decided not to tip her. That was a first for me! Especially since everyone else on staff is amazing! So Do give it a try. I've returned many times and am usually happy if I order only my favorite burger! One final note: the wait for a meal can be long at lunchtime, more than 30 minutes for a burger. My boyfriend and I are staying at the hotel near by and saw this burger place so we decided to give it a try for dinner. To summarize: The beer battered onion petals with ranch were amazing. My boyfriend said his fries weren't bad but nothing to write home about. We both enjoyed our burgers. Now I sent my boyfriend to go do a take out order. For my bacon burger I wanted the burger only, add mayo on the side and add red onion to the burger. When he comes back, I am missing the red onion and the mayo. I had to walk back to the location, stand at the register while being ignored by 4 employees, 3 "cooks" and 1 other employee seemed to be a plain front of house worker/waiter, until another 5th employee comes to the register. I had the take out bag on the counter so they could see I wasn't ordering anything new, just wanted to fix an incorrect order but no one greeted or acknowledged me. No one said one moment either. The girl who came to the register was sweet and asked the cooks for my onion on the side. When she joked with them about not putting onion on my burger the older woman cook blamed a new girl employee for the mistake. I then got 3 thin slices of red onion and the mayo packets and went on my way. So my husband I tried Laguna burger for the first time. We ordered a Laguna wimpy burger, chile cheese fries and a frito pie dog. The food came out pretty fast. Before biting into any of the food, I was impressed with presentation of the frito pie dog. It made me want to eat it first. It did not disappoint. The Fritos were crunchy and added to the texture of every bite. The hot dog was grilled and cut in half so it was well cooked. The sour cream gave just enough creaminess to each bite to even out the flavors. It was just missing jalapeños. The hamburger brought back a memory with a smell and a bite to the state fair. I am not sure why, because I have never eaten a burger at the fair but it did. The burger was flavorful and delicious. The cheese fries were good, they lacked salt, but were meaty. We visited Laguna Burger specifically because my husband is vegan and has previously ordered the Impossible burger here. Before coming in, we checked the website and saw it on the menu and the Order Online options for $10.99. When we were there, the item was not listed on the in-store menu, so I asked the cashier if it was still available. The response was unclear, and another employee had to be called over. The interaction felt uncomfortable, and neither employee was particularly helpful. Both were rude. We were then told that substituting an Impossible patty would cost an additional $8 on top of the burger price depending on the one we chose. I clarified the price because it seemed unusually high, and was told that was correct. However, the same item appears to be priced much lower when ordering online, which is confusing and inconsistent. We ultimately decided not to order the Impossible burger due to the price. After saying, no to that $8 up charge, we were told she could "adjust" it and the cost would be lower. The total cost at the end for one Impossible burger was about $25. We ended up ordering a kids grilled cheese with fruit, a mint mango lemonade, and a Fuego Wimp burger... which cost roughly the same as the single Impossible burger. I've been to the Pit Stop location in Laguna Pueblo, as well as the one across from Route 66 Casino off I-40, and yes, I've been to this location as well. it wasn't too late, about 7 pm, and not busy at all. No line, but about a half dozen tables already seated. He got the Laguna Burger and I went with the Mushroom Swiss Wimp. It was not long before our food arrived. Both burgers looking great and of course I grab a fry off his plate. It was nice and fresh, hot. I sprinkled a lil salt on em, they needed it, hahaha! I picked up my burger and went in for a bite. It was good, filled with a lot of onions and mushrooms along with a healthy slice of swiss cheese. The only thing missing, was some heat. My burger was not hot. The patty didn't just come off the grill. The onions and mushrooms, basically room temp. Luckily for me, I wasn't craving anything, I wasn't excitedly waiting for my burger. At 11 am they had a line out the door, so I left. Came in just after 1pm and it was busy, busy !! Getting through the line took a long time but my food came out pretty quickly. The Laguna burger with fries is the best item on the menu the meat is always fresh cooked when ordered green chile is flavorful and not to hot just right and there French fries are so so good ! The kids menu is great they can get a smaller hamburger or grilled cheese sandwich which is made like you would at home not skimpy on the cheese and grilled perfect . This place has gone downhill. We were respectful and pleasant and tipped, but staff didn't even say hello. It was just "what do you want to order?". Then they got our order wrong twice despite us ordering clearly, and were incredibly rude when we asked to have it corrected stating that "that's what it said on the ticket", dropping new food and storming off not acknowledging our "thank you". Overall though, even though I got the smaller version of their "world famous" Laguna burger (e.g. green chili cheese burger) called Laguna wimp (hmm...I couldn't help but think they meant for smaller burgers to be for wimpy people like me!..but I digressed), I thought the burger was just ok. It tasted fresh (meat, veggies), but I didn't think of anything extraordinary about it. If anything, there wasn't so much green chili on it that it sort of tasted like a cheeseburger to me. Once my friend asked me what i would bring on a deserted island. After coming here I would say the chef who made my burger. "Laguna Burger" is a well-known burger that got its name from selling burgers on the Laguna Pueblo, just off I-40, outside Albuquerque. I've eaten at that location many times, and the food is always top notch. However, you should avoid this particular location! The quality of the food preparation at this location is very, very poor. I'm sure they use the same ingredients at all their locations, but they don't prepare their food as well here, probably because this a new location, and they don't have the same seasoned employees. Moreover, the service at this location is terrible. At my last visit, they made my food wrong. When they corrected the mistake, they gave me an old burger. I got a refund. Point is, avoid this location. Visit their original location on the Laguna Pueblo, just outside Albuquerque. read more

I love Laguna Burger, and I took a good friend who had never been. She (and I) loved it! The restaurant is very clean, has nice industrial chic style, lots of seating (indoor and outdoor on a beautiful patio). The service is friendly, fast, and efficient. You place your order as you enter, pay, and they give you a number. Servers deliver your drinks and food as they are ready. Laguna is known for its burgers, but it also has sandwiches, soup, and salads. We chose the Laguna burger, a really filling, tasty green chile cheeseburger with a side of onion petals. We chose the petals vs fries with no charge for substitution. For drinks, my friend chose an Oreo shake and I chose a vodka tonic. Another plus for Laguna is it has a full bar. They offer a peanut butter shake made with Screwball, but I knew the burger would already be too much for me. Everything was terrific and made with very fresh ingredients. Another plus for Laguna is that it offers different size burgers. My friend chose the Laguna (.5 pound burger), and I chose the Laguna wimpy (.33 pound burger). We ate on the beautiful, shaded patio, and enjoyed our lunch very much! Laguna also recently opened a branch in Rio Rancho, but we dined at the one on 12th street. From the long wait times, uncomfortable crammed space, quality of food, and pricing. I would not and could not recommend! Review based on the following: 1. Front menus were difficult to read 2. Self serve drink station was in an inconvenient location in front of line(felt rushed) 3. Long wait time for food 4. Burger was overcooked, dry, and tasteless.
