Blakes is always a nice easy stop for dome breakfast burritos in the morning. However, this was not a nice stop. We walked in and were greeted with the worst customer service I've had in a while. Not to mention we had made it before 11am and they told us we could not get a breakfast burrito as they weren't serving breakfast anymore. The man who took our order was mumbling through his words and we could barely hear what he was asking us. Placed an online order for a carne burrito and just got an overly refried bean burrito didn't taste like anything and rude service.

Everyone talks about how Lotaburger has gone down hill but I haven't had that experience yet. Every time I go to my local Lotaburger my food is always delicious. Sometimes there's a wait because they are a small crew but the manager has them doing all they can. The chile here is better than most places and I know most of these places use bueno chile, even the famous owl bar uses bueno, but it's actually hot here. Every once in awhile we get the urge to eat a big fat Lotaburger and we haven't been disappointed yet. Two thumbs up from me! read more

Lotta burger and fries were good. Service was off. Ordered a milk shake at beginning of order. After all the other food was prepared, he gave it to me and so there you go. But I said I have two milkshakes coming after a minute he walked over to the milkshake machine played around with it, and then told me it would be another five minutes because the machine needs to cool off. Don't bother. Just go across the street and get what you need to make your own burgers. You can definitely do it by the time you would get your order. These people are so unorganized and overwhelmed. The owners must not understand what it takes to properly staff for the proper times. And because of that, the customers will wait in a sea of people during covid. A good solid hamburger place. Stopped here for an early lunch on a road trip from New Mexico to Oregon, returning from an Oryx hunt at McGreggor. Had to try the burger with green chilis. After consultation with the counter guy, I had the peppers on the side, just in case they were too hot and ruined the whole burger. As it turned out the chilis were great flavor, and provided a nice amount of heat that didn't linger over much. Next time I would just have the dump them on. Onion rings were solid, a little high on the batter to onion ratio, but the batter didn't separate from the onion, and they were crispy and hot. No breading. The chicken strips were similar, a little high on the batter to chicken ratio, but well cooked and crispy. The burger was pretty standard flat-top affair, made better by the chili and generous amounts of lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Lose a star - no public restroom. read more

Don't let the look of this place fool. We stopped in off the highway on a Sat evening. Called the order in while driving and had it ready when we arrived. The staff were all fast, courteous and very friendly. The burgers and fries were great. The real downside here is the building itself. It really needs to be torn down and rebuilt. There's not even a place to hang out while waiting for your order. It's a small location and maybe there's not enough biz to justify a larger restaurant. I'm a huge fan of Blake's as a chain. They make one of the best fast food burgers I've ever had and almost always have a brilliant seasonal shake - there's nothing like watching them shove a whole slice of pie into your milkshake. The seasoned fries at Blake's are almost certainly my absolute favorite french fries as well, and I like that their green Chile is hot. Well, all of these thoughts apply to the Socorro location, but I'm not giving it a great rating. Here's why: This is a smaller and probably older Blake's location. There's no indoor seating, it's not particularly clean or well kept, ordering is through irritating windows, and they're usually pretty slow to produce your order, even if it's just a shake. That can quickly get frustrating. This location seems to have recently gotten some light remodeling with new menus and some new equipment, so perhaps things will pick up as far as the speed. But here's the thing: people call in orders to this Blake's, which seems a little silly for a fast food restaurant, but when you're waiting around in the iffily heated/cooled vestibule for your food, you'll see why. I think that's the secret of this location: they take so many call-in orders that even when there's no one around you're usually a few orders back in the queue. read more

First of all, I love Lota Burgers and it's the best in the state. With that said, this particular location has no interior seating and no restrooms. You have to sit outside under the car port. The dining tables and wobbly and the place smells. The staff seemed to be unfriendly but the food was good. The green chile cheese burger is the best! I only gave them 2 starts because they need to remodel this location and have the customers eat inside and provide them with a restroom. Please, take your business to subway; where the employees understand that they are paid to provide quality service as they work in the SERVICE industry. Most recently the younger women that is consistently at the register has the worst guest service I've ever seen in my life. Came in at 10:55 for breakfast burritos (which we really like at Blakes) amply was really excited. Asked if I still had time to order them because breakfast closes at 11. Cashier didn't tell me yes or no instead he looked over at a man who I'm not sure if he was a manager or what but was enough in charge for the cashier to look ask permission. That said this particular location doesn't have indoor seating at all and they somehow managed to lose (drop) my ticket. They offered us a free brownie or something and while that was a nice offer I politely declined. I didn't notice that the staff was unfriendly as a few of the other reviewers mentioned. Rio Rancho NM Store #67 has to be the worst Blake's of all the of their locations. They have never gotten my order right and one time I placed an order over the phone at about 8:30 pm, they supposedly close at 10:00pm when I got there at 8:50pm to pick up my order they said they were closed and could do nothing about my order as they were closed. I wrote a letter to their main office to get my money back, but they never replied or took my calls, and I was never refunded my money, so they basically robbed me. Today I went in for breakfast burritos drive through, and their parking lot was empty, so I thought cool I'm sure there will be no wait. WRONG! At the order screen, they told me it would be a 30-minute wait. I inquired as to why the wait since I was the only one there, and they stated the phone orders that were called in prior to me getting there had priority. He also said that he didn't make the rules. So you have to wait till all call ins orders are made before they will even start your order even if you are in their store. Such insane management at this place! I will never go there again, even though they have great burgers, don't go to this location because you will receive mediocre service if any. read more
