I eat here once in a while and it's pretty consistent. The food is good and the place seems clean. Customer service varies.

I was pleasantly surprised when she said yes! I had the 4 piece shrimp dinner with garlic potatoes. I ordered a nice mixed green house salad with delicious blue cheese dressing. Both the husband and wife who own the place work there and really try to make a difference. All the staff I met were very helpful and kind. I love the fact that they got locally sourced.Chiles for their salsas and their chillie cheeseburgers. Although I had a tech burger , I made sure I got a side of the local chiles. They have an extensive variety of food chicken dishes, salad's and burgers. Restaurants and bars are also about expectations, what type of bar and restaurant are you going to? And everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The small town restaurants you have to remember serve local families, ranchers, couples on dates to workers on temporary assignment for cable or some other service and really are gathering places. They're not used to big city out of town tourists. So if you keep that in mind you'll have a great experience at any of the small towns you visit. They offer quite a variety of New Mexico beers as well as some regular favorites. They make quite a variety of cocktails as well. Single diners are welcome at the bar or they'll fit you in a table. If that's not too busy.

I may have eaten here once, but I'm not positive. Glad I came in to see campus again and grab a bite. I got the Putting Green Burger with green chile. It was pretty tasty. The fries are fresh fried potatoes. They were well done, but I should've asked for double fried because fresh potato fries tend to have more water and aren't as crispy. The service was fast and friendly. I thought the place was cool with the open kitchen layout. Its neighbor is the pro shop which has a lot of cool gear.

They changed their menu two weeks ago and I was floored on how bad the burger was. It was a processed frozen mystery preformed patty with weird little pieces of filler, no green chili, no onion, and one flat piece of lettuce. It had pickles instead and tomato's. The flavor, and freshness with better quality meat disappeared. There was no crunch and the patty was so processed and tasteless and the burger SHRUNK. For a $14 burger with a side don't waste your money here. Go to Blakes or Yo Mamas. It's now blatant frankenfood and not fresh. What a bummer, I'll miss going there. The service has always been great and I enjoyed the iced tea.

We passed through Socorro during a long day on the road after visiting my father south of Tucson…read more We stopped in to Capitol rather than one of the other two breweries on the plaza to get a stamp in our Hop Passport. A very pleasant bartender seated my wife, our young puppy, and me on their very nice patio, and brought the pup a bowl of water without being asked, which we always appreciate. I ordered an IPA and my wife got a stout, as February is stout month at craft breweries all around the country. Both of us thought our beers were delicious and well balanced. To our surprise, there were ashtrays on several of the tables on the patio, and a man was smoking a cigar a few tables from us (smoking is banned inside and out at all business establishments in Colorado). The piped-in music was rather eclectic - everything from 70s classic rock to Shakira to modern auto-tuned pop. We had just had lunch in Hatch, so did not try the food. We have decided that we will spend the night in Socorro on an upcoming trip to see my dad, as the town looks like a lot of fun and we really want to try the other local brewpubs.

I got a flight of beers: the Green Chile Lager actually had quite a spicy kick (definitely an acquired taste). My favorite was the 49er's Oktoberfest Lager. The Hoppenheimer was a strong IPA with a 9.3% ABV, and the Ladrones Mexican Lager was crisp and refreshing. For food, I tried the Socorro Dog ($11). It's supposed to have bacon, but I couldn't really see or taste any. I liked the combo of shredded Gouda, green chile, tomato relish, and beer mustard. The poppy seed bun was also a nice touch. We also shared a 12 inch Supreme Pizza ($14.50) with olives, sausage, green chile, mushrooms, and pepperoni. I liked the thin crust. I also ordered the Birds of a Feather cocktail ($13) which had dark aged rum, Aperol, pineapple juice, lime, and simple syrup. I asked for a splash of Prosecco to make it sparkling, and it was indeed refreshing. They also have a pool table ($1 per rack) and a dog-friendly outdoor patio, which I always like to see. There's also plenty of board games to borrow. The only downside was that the bathrooms could use a little cleaning and updating. Overall though, this was a solid spot with good drinks and a chill vibe.

Checked out Los Victor's and it seemed to foot the bill. Since we were driving through, we thought we'd each get a chimichanga. We figured a handheld chimi would be perfect car trip food. But... oh no... this chimi is HUGE, smothered, and no way we could eat these in the car, lol. We had no idea! We had to wait until we got home to even think about starting on these colossal things. And they were delicious! Not the best, but certainly very good. I was a little put off, as I had ordered the asada chimi... what I got was mostly beans and lettuce. But still... it was good... just that beans are off of my diet and there was very little meat. Overall decent experience and is our new "goto" when driving through. Sadly, though, it looks like they are for sale? There were plenty of customers when we got there and when we left. Not a hoard of them, but consistent. Both inside and at the drive-thru.
