After I had everything taken apart I was pissed off to learn that the clerk had given me the wrong part. I recently purchased a new 12 volt battery for my Rav4 Hybrid Limited. The hybrid is different than a gasoline only car - the battery installs back by the spare tire inside the passenger cabin. These AGM batteries have a vent hose to "safely release potentially dangerous gases, like hydrogen, produced during charging or over charging, preventing pressure buildup and potential explosions or fires ..". The general manager insisted the venting hose was to allow air into the battery to cool it and recommended I just drive the car with the hose disconnected. The reason this entire conversation took place was there are two different size batteries for my 2017 Rav4 Hybrid Limited - depending on whether the car has a premium audio system (Premium JBL Audio). The one they sold me is the incorrect battery and the venting hose connection is on the other side of the battery so the car's hose won't reach. I showed him the car specs from when I bought the car and he told me I didn't have the premium audio, too, although it clearly list Premium JBL Audio. Now I'm stuck with the wrong size battery and a dangerous situation.
