Summer is here and they show a new movie each week with free admission to the youth of this community. Admission is cheaper than any other theater in the area. Tuesday is $5 admission on most movies. Everyday has a lower matinee admission price. The popcorn is always fresh. Concession prices are very reasonable. I do not know of any other theater that has cheaper. The theater is always clean. The restrooms are always clean and well stocked. Employees are polite and smile. There is plenty of parking.

One important thing to note is that when the listed showtime says the movie starts, that is when the actual movie begins, not the previews or commercials. Make sure you arrive right on time or you might miss the beginning. The concessions were good with lots of snacks to choose from. The popcorn and drinks are the typical movie theater prices, but still part of the experience and worth it if you want the full movie night vibe. Tickets were also pretty reasonably priced. I went to a matinee and paid a little over six dollars, a great deal. The seating is more of a standard theater setup rather than the big recliner chairs some newer theaters have, but overall it's comfortable and perfectly fine for watching a movie. Overall, I'm really happy to have a theater like this in Amelia and I always like supporting it when I can. It's a great local spot to catch a film.

The projector's bulb is obviously going, or the projector is very poorly maintained in other aspects. The result was a screen image that was dim, vignetted, and out of focus. I informed the people at the concessions counter, and their response was, "Yeah, it is." I didn't ask for a refund, but I feel that I should have. Look, I willingly pay for the over-priced popcorn and concessions so that I can help keep this local gem alive...but if I can't SEE the movie, what's the point?

Ticket price for the 7pm showing on a Tuesday was only $5...which was also nice. My only gripe is the sizes of their concessions. The larges of both the soda & the popcorn were closer to a medium at other theatres I frequent. Kinda made me wish I had purchased the refillable bucket...even though I'm not sure I'd ever be able to use it again.

It was quick, easy, and user friendly. Since we had just left Pappadeaux we bypassed the popcorn and snacks at the concession stand. But we did opt for slushies and the gentleman at the counter did a GREAT JOB with his sales tactics to upgrade us from a small slushie, which is what we intended to order, to ordering the reusable slushie cup that changes colors. Movie theater and bathrooms were clean, except one of the arms of our recliner had melted butter all over it from the previous movie goer. Overall, a great time for an impromptu movie date out of town!
