I normally LOVE Colony 7. It shows first-run movies at an affordable price. There are quirks to deal with, such as tickets being redeemed/sold at the concession stand. To me, this is not a problem. What *IS* a problem is the quality of the picture being presented last night in Theater 1. The projector's bulb is obviously going, or the projector is very poorly maintained in other aspects. The result was a screen image that was dim, vignetted, and out of focus. I informed the people at the concessions counter, and their response was, "Yeah, it is." I didn't ask for a refund, but I feel that I should have. Look, I willingly pay for the over-priced popcorn and concessions so that I can help keep this local gem alive...but if I can't SEE the movie, what's the point? read more

Have visited many theaters over the years in many states and by far Colony is one of the best. (Not the biggest) but overall one of our favorites. One item definitely the best of all others, POPCORN. Nobody comes close. The staff ranks high, especially Julie. She is so friendly and makes you fell so welcome. In our weekly visits, each staff member is excellent. So, is there anything I would not rate a five? Nope. This theater may not be the biggest but definitely one of the best. Highly recommend to visit. read more

From my experience, this company is a textbook example of poor business practices and unprofessional management. Staff turnover is alarmingly high, and it's not hard to understand why: new hires come and go every few weeks because few people are willing to stick around in such a poorly run environment. There appears to be no real investment in training or retaining employees, and the lack of structure creates a work atmosphere that is frustrating at best, chaotic at worst. If you're a customer, don't expect top-tier service. And if you're a parent considering this as a first job opportunity for your child, I'd suggest looking elsewhere--this is not the kind of environment where young workers are likely to gain meaningful or respectful experience. Before you buy a ticket or submit an application, I encourage you to speak with someone who has worked there. Get the inside story first--you'll likely hear the same thing I'm telling you now. For reference with regards to pricing, etc., this review is being published on 3/28/2022. Pros: First run films are only $5 at all times . Popcorn is freshly popped so it's usually pretty good. Online ticket booking fee appears to be reasonable at $1 per ticket. Cons: Ticket sales are often handled at the concessions counter, so plan to arrive early. Online ticket sale redemption appears to have some issues, based on the problems I've seen people having trying to redeem them. This is also handled at the concessions stand, plan to arrive early. First run films are only $5. That means that: 1. It's cheaper than a babysitter, so expect toddlers and underage children/teens to be present at your R rated film showing. On the plus side, little Timmy might learn a thing or two. 2. It's a cheap place for teens to hang out in the AC and chat with their friends. Individual theaters come in small, medium and large. The large theaters are a throwback to the 1980s with a center aisle, a gradually sloped floor and non-stadium style seating. Expect to have your seat back kicked by the kid behind you. The double doors into these cinemas open directly into the lobby, so every time someone enters or leaves the theater is flooded with light. The medium theaters have a smaller seating capacity (say 50-75 seats) with stadium style seating but no luxury seats. See large theaters re the seat kicking. The small theaters have about the same seating capacity as a dedicated home theater setup might have, but without the comfort. It's not the fanciest theater around, but it gets the job done. Nice seats, and decent sound. You can get a crappy theater for a move that's been out for a while, and it's like sitting in my living room. Concession prices are just as ridiculous as other movie places. The employees are shady and grubby and should be wearing hair nets over their rats nest hairdo's and less lip piercings if they're going to serve food. My son-in-law had been to this movie theater quite a few years back. It wasn't in as near the great shape it is now. So I was pleasantly surprised to find it well renovated and fully staffed. They show the new releases, and you get to watch them for 5 bucks a person. Add some popcorn and drinks for two, which is less than $15, and it's a great outing. You won't be spending $100 for movie tickets, unless you take a party of 20!! Small, quaint theaters. Comfy seating. We went to Colony Square Cinemas to watch Inside Out with our six year old twins. The staff was polite and courteous. The movie theater was spotless. What really impressed my husband and I was how the staff at the concession stand handled our special request. Our son has autism and only drinks water. It is against their policy to give out water in cups. But once we explained our situation, they were more than accommodating. read more

The staff was friendly, the theater was clean, and the prices were low. I'm a big fan of seats where the armrests can be moved out of the way, something that I've found even some of the bigger chains don't offer. We saw at matinée screening of Inside Out, and the screen and sound were great! You're not getting the super iMax super surround experience, but you're also not paying $12 per ticket. Only $5 for a movie. What's not to like? I would suggest eating before you go, since the concession prices are not discounted. It has been remodeled recently and is quite comfortable now. Shows can sell out quickly, due to the limited seating capacity...so go early! My friend arrived early and got a ticket, but I was too late. I have been going to this theater for years, for the convenience and value. But over the last two months or so I have noticed a steep decline in cleanliness. I may have seen my last movie last night as everything was really dirty. I truly hope the management sees my review and starts to get it back up to its formal decent standard. Saturday we went to the movies at Colony 7 Cinemas in Lebanon, OH. This is a movie theater we typically go to because the price is only $5 and the popcorn is good. The problem is that in the last year the theater has really gone down hill. They have made several cost cutting measures, which have ruined the small theater experience. The bathrooms are filthy; there were flying insects around the toilets. We saw the first show of the day and there was popcorn on the floors in the hallways. The movie theater's floor was so sticky it pulled at your shoes. They made several cost cutting changes in recent history besides janitorial. They cut the size of the large popcorn in half and limit the refills. They have gone to opening only 15 minutes before the first show. On a Saturday, you go from standing in line outside the ticket office, to standing in line at the snack bar and just make the movie in time. We really like this the theater but if they are struggling this bad, raise the prices and hire a janitor or some kids which are interested in working. Its become to dirty to enjoy a movie. read more

My wife and I have lived in Lebanon since 1998 and have seen quite a few movies at Colony Square. We went to the 4:15 showing of "The Intern" today and it was not only dirty but absolutely filthy. I should have been clued in when I bought the tickets at the concession stand and the glass looked liked it had not been cleaned in quite some time. The theater we were in was the first showing of the day and our shoes stuck to the floor and popcorn and other debris was strewn all over the place. I went to the men's room after the movie and I was really fearful of catching a disease. Even though movies are still only $5, it is certainly not worth the cost as filthy as it is. read more

WORST THEATER EXPERIENCE I've ever had!! Now I know why I spend double the price on tickets and concessions in Mason!!! I will place all the blame on the staff. Could not hear 90% of the movie because of all the teenagers and others yelling, talking, making comments about the movie and just being downright stupid and obnoxious. Not once did the staff walk through even though I'm sure the noise could've been heard across the street. So if you want to go see young adults act stupid and a staff that doesn't care about their job and not to see a movie, then this is the place to go. I asked to speak to management and was told that the manager had already left and left only 1 person (staff) on duty. Maybe you would make money if you concentrated on the patrons and not be so worried about people bringing outside food in. read more

A good value for the price. Went with my son on a Sunday to see Sully. There were about 3-4 staff members behind the concession counter. There was no one in line. When our movie began, I thought there was a lot of light coming through the doorway, but assumed it was just that I wasn't used to the smaller theatre showing our movie. However, I began to realize I was hearing conversation coming from the lobby. I got up to see if something was wrong (we come here often and it was unusual to hear so much noise) only to find the house/theatre door was still wide open. This was at least 15 minutes into the movie. I wondered if perhaps there was a rush at the concessions stand, but when I looked I saw a kid in a tie playing on his cellphone, one girl who was actually working, and another girl just standing back there. There wasn't a customer in sight and no excuse for this kind of carelessness. After the movie, the door was not propped open for us to leave. There was still no one in the lobby and no reason for this carelessness. This theatre is a great value, but it seems to me ticket prices could come down even more if it wasn't overstaffed with teenagers who aren't even doing their jobs. read more

Hello, I would like to preface this with 2 things, 1. I have never used Yelp and don't really know much about using it and 2. I visited this theater a few days ago, I just couldn't stop thinking about what happened which is why I finally decided to review. I took my 2 daughters with me to watch the Emoji Movie which is great, very cute and funny:) Your probably wonder why I am only rating 1 star though. Towards the very end of the movie, I felt something brush my heel and looked down and could just make out a small mouse with the little bit of light there was. Now, having 2 small girls with me, I couldn't be visibly scared or leave early (again this was at basically the end of the movie anyways) so I kept my mouth shut until I was leaving when I mentioned it to a nice young girl working there. She said it's a constant problem but could get the manager if I wanted, I declined because I needed to get home and it didn't seem to be of big concern to the employee anyway. This is where my experience got really bad, I contacted the Warren County health department about the incident and was told by a health inspector that she was told during her investigation of this cinema that there was a mouse problem that employees were taking care of on an as-needed basis. I do not think this is okay and will never go back to this theater despite the fact that tickets are a fraction of other theaters, it's just not worth it. read more
