I really like this movie theater! First, the concessions area is great. The popcorn actually tastes like it has real butter instead of that super artificial oil flavor. They also have a small bar, so you can grab a glass of wine with your movie, plus the usual candy and snacks. And if you're a popcorn person, you can get a seriously huge bag. I saw someone walking out with a massive family sized bag and honestly respected it. The theater itself is very cozy and has that vintage charm you don't get at newer places. Even though it's small, it didn't feel stuffy or cold inside. I was totally comfortable in shorts. The seating is classic old-fashioned theater seating, no recliners or fancy upgrades, which honestly kind of adds to the nostalgic feel. That said, if you're looking for a super high-tech movie experience with perfect projection and luxury seats, you might want a bigger theater. The projector was a tiny bit oversized for the screen so a sliver of the image was cut off, which wasn't terrible but did catch my eye. Still, it didn't ruin the movie. One thing I loved is that they show older films, reruns, and niche movies along with new releases. It's a fun place to see something a little less mainstream while still having a cute date night in the heart of Mariemont Village. Overall, it's a charming, cozy theater that feels special in a way big chains don't. Perfect for a casual date night or a relaxed movie evening after getting dinner in the village. read more

Our daughter recently got engaged here! The staff worked with her fiancé to set up the theater and then have the lights come up at the set time during the movie. There was a glitch at the beginning when the sound wasn't working, but they got that fixed in 5 minutes or so and restarted the movie. As the movie was playing, they even went out and changed the marquee to a personalized proposal sign! It was so cute! The employees were very friendly & helpful and the theater & bathrooms were clean and well cared for. read more

One of my favorite, local movie theatres! I grew up going here. It's smaller than a Regal or AMC but the quality and prices are so much better. They have better options of candy and snacks for the movie and their prices aren't inflated like you would usually find at a movie theatre. Love having a quality theatre close to me! read more

A retro theater in a retro area. The cinema I landed in was tiny, but I came for a niche movie that wasn't showing in a whole lot of places and had a good enough viewing experience to be worthwhile. They had some ads for a local art gallery, and the short trailer presentation was previews of other arthouse films coming to this particular. I entered and left a movie theater without hearing any mention of Marvel Studios. The concessions had some interesting local items, though I was already stuffed. Awesome theatre in a quaint little town! We drive by the theatre all the time but this was our first time in to catch a movie. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who were extremely polite and helpful. We stocked up on some popcorn and beverages and off we went to view our show. Portions were large and prices were fair. Restrooms and theatre were very clean. Movie was great, and so was the environment. We like the setting of this in a small town feel. Wow! What a treat! I visited Mariemont Theatre for a sing-along version of the old movie White Christmas. It was unlike anything I have ever seen before! What fun! Kudos to this theater for hosting the special event. This was the first time that I had been to this theater for a special event like this, and I most certainly will be going back! I have watched movies in this small but quaint theater before, but I had never experienced a sing-along at this location. I highly recommend! Since it is a smaller theater, know that you may want to purchase tickets before you go; however, there is a box office before you enter the theater, if needed. The city of Mariemont has such an old-fashioned vibe, and this movie theater is no exception! From the vintage look outside the theater to the old pictures of Cincinnati inside the theater, it presents a sort of nostalgia. Not to mention, the concession stand is actually very reasonable! You can get two very large drinks plus a medium popcorn (which is humongous, by the way!) for$12. That is a great price considering most movie theaters extremely overcharge their guests. I loved my time here, and I cannot wait to come back! I have heard this theater does several sing-along's throughout the year (we got our tickets way in advance for this, as it did sell out quickly). Cute little theater in the middle of Mariemont. Tickets are a bit more expensive where. If you go to a big theater tickets are usually $6 or less. Here tickets were $10. The theaters are old so no Constance seating. I do like that the theaters are small. It gives it a more intimate feeling. The bathrooms were clean enough as well. Normally this theater only shows independent films so I Usually never come here. I feel like it doesn't show a lot of movies people want to see. We went in a Sunday night and there was no one there, which was really nice. I only came here because they were showing Mary Queen if Scots and no other theater was as that time. Adorable and clean little movie theater nestled in the cozy, pretty Village of Mariemont. This theater primarily shows indie films, which I have always secretly harbored a fondness for (and my 14 year old shares). We went on a Saturday afternoon to see 'Lady Bird' (phenomenal movie, BTW) and we had no problem getting parking. The tickets were $7.50 apiece. The food selection looked a little nicer and more upscale (wine, cheese plates, The BonBonerie treats) than your typical movie theater, while also carrying the familiar favorites of buttered corn and boxed candies, etc. We settled in with our sparkly macarons (literally) in one of the tiny rooms. The audience was undeniably older, more mature and calmer than a typical movie theater - and I throughly enjoyed that aspect. I am literally making it a goal in 2018 to watch more developed character-driven indie films and to frequent this theater more. read more

The location is close to quite a few other restaurants and Graeter's ice cream. Parking is free and there is a small lot near the front entrance. First visit - so impressed! Cute old style movie house with a small, intimate feel. There were 3 or 4 attendants working the front of house and they were all very nice and helpful. The theater's movie quality was good. The seats are the old style (not recliners like newer theaters have) but they were comfortable enough and we enjoyed the movie. I love that you can park, walk around and dine in quaint Mariemont then catch a show - it makes for a really nice afternoon. They were promoting dates for showing classic movies, holiday movies, and all kinds of cinema lectures, sing-alongs and other events that sound pretty fun. We'll definitely return. read more

Top 5 reasons I love Mariemont Theatre - 1. The crowds here are minimal. There is nothing worse than seeing a packed movie at say AMC Newport and people are yelling at the screen (The actors can't hear you, you f'n moron), answering their phone (I feel primitive and medieval every time I see someone do this), asking questions to their friends (It's a movie, not a riddle. Unless it's a David Lynch film, shut the hell up), and eating nachos (Who orders nachos at the movies? For real? Your run for the border can't wait two hours? This has got to be the most loud and annoying concession sold at theaters and they should be banned). Anyhow I digress, Mariemont theatre is generally only mildly crowded and full of respectful adults who are there to see a great film. 2. They are always showing rare and well-reviewed independent films here. I've lived in other cities that didn't have an art house cinema like Mariemont Theatre and let me just tell you, it stinks. In the past I've driven two hours to see much anticipated independent films. Now I walk three blocks! We are truly blessed in Cincinnati to not only have Mariemont but also it's big brother, Esquire. 3. This theatre sits directly across from the fountain in the center of picturesque Mariemont Square. This is the perfect little village to take a date with great restaurants, Graeter's Ice Cream, and all kinds of parks and historic landmarks to stroll through pre or post movie. 4. The three screens at Mariemont have all been newly updated to support digital films as well as 3D films which keeps this place relevant in comparison to all the giant megaplexes out there. 5. Tuesday is bargain day with all tickets all day priced at $6. And Wednesday is dinner and a movie day! Quaint neighborhood, quaint theater. Same owner as Esquire and Kenwood. Come here for your indie flicks and some of the better comedies and animated films. Generally cheaper and less crowded than your larger AMCs. And the seats are comfy! They are pretty deep, so you can lay back properly. Graeter's next door means every movie trip, with or without foresight, inevitably comes with black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream. Best times to come are Sunday afternoons (matinee price = $7/ticket). Also cheap on Tuesdays I think. If you're really into indie films or find yourself coming here regularly, it's worth getting the Critics' Club card. Just by subscribing to the e-newsletter, you accrue 1 point for each dollar spent. I love the Esquire and I love it's sister theatre, too! They have really decent prices, coupons in the Bear Cash and they show awesome movies. Most of them are independent or smaller movies, which I love! On my last visit we went on a Wednesday for a 2:30p show and had no problem parking in the little lit across the street. I don't make it out to this particular location very frequently, but the neighborhood is cute and there are places nearby to eat before or after. read more

I went three days ago and the bearded associate behind the counter went out of his way to get our cards for the critic's club, offer us half priced wine, and suggested snacks, so we got popcorn. A nice theatre with a few surprising frills: comfy seats that recline, great projectors, and decent concession stands. I have only a few gripes: is there a water fountain? I did not see one. Oh well. Another (first world) problem is that there seems to be only one bathroom and if you are seeing a movie in the theatres in the back, you miss a lot of the movie if ya gotta go. Parking is a little awkward near the theatre, but I have always found a spot regardless. Graeter's ice cream is located to the right of the theatre for pre or post movie sugar rushes. Overall, I like this theatre as it tends to show movies that are what some would call art films, or independent. It is a perfect compliment to the movies the Esquire theatre shows. Occasionally there is overlap, but most of the time, the movies cover the spread that the big chain theatres do not. What a cute little theatre! It's clean, and the arms fold up! Awesome place for a date night. It's in a cute neighborhood with a Graeter's next door (always a win) and a fountain across the street. The Mariemont Theatre has been around for years. It does not have reclining seats or 3D or XD movies. And that is why I like it so much. To me, the reclining seats in newer movie theaters become uncomfortable and I never feel the need to pay extra for 3D movies. The Mariemont is also a few dollars cheaper than other theaters, the seats are more comfortable, the movie selection is always good, and you can pop next door to Graeters or go down the block for Starbucks.
