I love having a big movie theater right here in Amelia. The theater was actually closed for a while for renovations, but it's now back open. Everything felt clean and well maintained when I visited, and it's nice to see the place running again. One important thing to note is that when the listed showtime says the movie starts, that is when the actual movie begins, not the previews or commercials. Make sure you arrive right on time or you might miss the beginning. The concessions were good with lots of snacks to choose from. The popcorn and drinks are the typical movie theater prices, but still part of the experience and worth it if you want the full movie night vibe. Tickets were also pretty reasonably priced. I went to a matinee and paid a little over six dollars, a great deal. The seating is more of a standard theater setup rather than the big recliner chairs some newer theaters have, but overall it's comfortable and perfectly fine for watching a movie. Overall, I'm really happy to have a theater like this in Amelia and I always like supporting it when I can. It's a great local spot to catch a film. read more

I will never go to this Cinema again. Seats are very cramped. My husband who hasn't been able to visually see a movie in 8 months due to an autoimmune disorder. He decided to take me to watch a movie for my birthday. We paid for tickets a large popcorn and a fountain drink for me. As we were waiting for the movie to start he decided he wanted a water. I went to the counter and asked for a cup of water. I was charged almost $6.00 for the cup and had to get the water from the water fountain. My husband wasn't happy that I got charged that much for an empty cup. Very disappointed in the service we received. The girl at the counter wasn't very friendly and treated me like I was being an inconvenience just because I wanted water.​ read more

Was about eight minutes into the movie when the power went out. Waited about 20 minutes and went to get our refund. The manger gave the family in front of me a refund on the movie and food. She then walked away with maybe a dozen people in line. Twenty- five minutes later she came back and said she couldn't give refunds cause the cash registers were locked. A lady from behind me said get the keys and a note pad! We only got our tickets refunded. Won't go back there! read more

I really like this cinema. It's not luxurious or anything, but the prices are great, and the popcorn and soda/ICEEs all have free refills. The place is very clean, and the popcorn is absolutely delicious! The seats are not the luxury recliners, but they are comfortable enough and they lean back some. This place is definitely worth coming to if you're in the area. read more

I have this thing about reclining seats. I refuse to go to the Milford theatre even though it's always $5 tickets because they don't have recliners. I will make one exception, and that's for the Pierce Point Cinema in Amelia. Why? They have DIY popcorn! Yes, I'm easily amused. I've written 421 reviews at this point. You should know this. Everything is self-serve here. Perhaps they have nachos or hot dogs or something that's not, but I've never noticed. I'm here to make my own tub of over buttered popcorn and tri-flavor icee. The theater itself is very basic. Besides the cool snack items, there are a few arcade games prior to entering the theater section. There are ten pictures running at a time. The seats may not be recliners, but they are very comfortable. I've not seen any theatre packed to the brim except on opening night of a highly-anticipated film. This is your standard neighborhood theater that plays the movies your kids want, or an occasional action flick with Tom Cruise for date night. Nothing special to see, but it gets the job done. Great first run movie theater is not usually crowded. I enjoy the stadium seating. They also have an unlimited pop and popcorn option for under $10. Ticket prices are normal and they have student prices. They charge $3 extra for 3D which is annoying. Large parking lot and right buy Chipolte for and after movie snack. read more

Not the worst, but definitely not the best. Came here a few weeks ago for a showing of the new Hunger Games movie. It might have been a unique day in that they had such a popular moving showing, but I guess I had expected more. When I arrived for the morning show, the line was long. Since you purchase tickets and food at the same counter things tend to move pretty slowly. So, in an effort to ditch the line, I opted for the computerized ticket machine. At first I didn't realize why no one was getting their tickets there, but then once I tried to use them I knew why. The machines were hard to use and didn't really respond to my point and click. After a few tries at a few different machines I finally got my ticket. Beyond that, the seats were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Sadly though, I couldn't enjoy the movie because as Valerie said, people aren't very courteous of others at this theater. Two young girls during my showing were so loud that they were distracting more than the few people around them. I blame the theater for this, as they should be more diligent about making sure a few don't ruin it for many. read more

Pierce Point Cinema 10 - The front - Cinema Near Me - Amelia, Ohio

This isn't a bad cinema. We made the drive here because our local cinema has ridiculously limited screenings of any movie that isn't an animated kid movie (we were trying to see 'mother!' and it wasn't even showing at our theater at the time of our visit). We were lured to Pierce Point because we saw online that it had free popcorn and Coke or Icees. CORRECTION: It's unlimited free REFILLS of either, which isn't such a bad deal (but how much pop and popcorn can someone guzzle?). The theatre was clean and almost empty when we went on a Sunday afternoon. The prices are comparable to any other theatre for afternoon matinees or evening showings - and why I am implying here is that I sort of expected PP's prices would be a little less, based on location and cosmetics and lack of plushy amenities that you can find at the newer or renovated theaters. It's a very old school and dated theater that makes you wonder how much body soil has accumulated in the stiff, un-reclining cloth seats. In summary, Pierce Point is adequate and standard for a movie theater. However, I like a little more bells-and-whistles wth cleanliness and comfort if I'm spending the same amount of scratch as a nicer theater. So I won't make the extra drive again to this location. read more

Saw Alita: Battle Angel in 3D there six times and each time was a pure joy. The cheap prices for both the ticket and a large popcorn and drink were a nice change from other theatres. The seating was really nice compared to many other theatres. Made a 40 min drive there each time to see Alita: Battle Angel in 3D because no other theatre still had it in 3D. Wonderful Movie at a Wonderful theatre. Wish i lived closer because this would become my main theatre to see movies at. Oh the screen and sound were really great as well. Thumbs Up. read more

Pierce Point is our go-to theater until the new Anderson theater opens. We usually hit Pierce Point at peak times, but we've never dealt with any long lines or crowds. There were only 2 other people in our 5:00 movie on Labor Day. The theater has student prices, which is always a nice perk- most chains don't give any discount. Theater is clean, snacks are good (and ridiculously overpriced, as expected). I'm always a little thrown off by buying your tickets and food at the same counter, but they make it work. Pierce Point is definitely our go to theater. The ticket prices are great, compared to other places. All you can eat/drink popcorn and soft drinks. And it always feels like a private showing. We saw opening night Force Awakens, and there were only 4 other people. That's how most movies are. It's nice that there aren't any large crowds. It's a great place to take kids. read more

This may be my favorite movie theatre in the city that isn't owned by the Theatre Management Corp (ie, Esquire, Mariemont, Kenwood). We've gone during the day on a weekend and for a showing at night on the weekend and it was never overly crowded. Also - they have a huge chandelier in the lobby with adds a touch of class. read more

People in this part of town apparently see nothing wrong with taking their very small children to 10pm screenings of R rated movies. That's definitely something to think twice about if you have no children, want to see a movie, and like to actually hear the movie at the same time. read more

One of the better theaters in the area. The sound and screen is clear and loud. Being close to our house, I've determined it's much better than options even going to an "upscale" theater with IMAX. Seats are comfortable and the food...ALL YOU CAN EAT OR DRINK! For a charge that everyone else has, this is a great deal! read more

This place is a joke. All they had for their fountain drinks was lemonade and fruit punch, which tasted watered down. The movie I was going to see was to start at 2:45. They didn't start to allow people back to the theater until 2:40. Since the waiting area was full of people, needless to say, the movie didn't start on time. Movie finally started at 3:05. Previews started to play, but then kept freezing in the middle. Movie went smoothly, once it started. Definitely not the experience I was expecting. Really nice and clean theater. I really can't think of anything negative aside from the popcorn and whatnot being slightly over-priced. They have several games to play so if you arrive early you can game out. The stadium seating is definitely a big plus for me. I love how the seats rock and how the arm rests can be moved. They eliminated their concession stand and combined it with their ticket lines which makes the lines go faster. You also serve yourself drinks if you order a pop and this allows serving time to be quicker too. This theater is cheaper than most and has less people that go to it. Love it! read more

This is a NEW and CLEAN slightly cheaper theater that shows first run movies. It does not have the extra food frills==keeps it simpler with popcorn, candy and nachos--who needs more and their popcorn is less saltly but still good--and they have all the seasonings you could want in serve yourself=== is slightly cheaper as well...stadium seating, fold up arm rests, rocking seats...staff are polite, helpful and they work hard to keep the distractions down so you can enjoy the show,,,just about 5 minutes east on beechmont (125) off exit 65 on 275 on the east side of cincinnati..you do not go all the way out to Amelia even though that is their address. They are very nice to service animals. OVER ALL my favorite theater in town!!! Does kids shows for free during the summer...they are past shows but fun to watch on the big screen again for free! read more

What a crap hole. Fountain drinks down. Selling people hot bottles of soda for $4. Ice machine works, but they won't give you any. Then the movie starts 15 minutes late, no previews, and only at the complaint of another customer. Get it together Pierce Point. There are too many other better theatres. read more
