I'm not sure what's prettier here: the presentation of the dishes, or the whole restaurant (including the building itself and the impeccable interior design). I've been here twice as of this review and am already looking forward to my next experience. My first occasion, I was seated on the top floor overlooking the swanky lounge. The second occasion, I was with a group tucked away in a private dining room. The only downfall to being there was we could barely hear the music. Then again, given the absence of speakers in our little bungalow, I'm guessing peace and quiet was the intent. The complimentary bread to start and the artichokes were a good intro. The beet and bufata salad was fresh and refreshing. The cream of corn was probably one of the best - if not the best - soup I've ever had. Everybody else was happy with their choices as well. The complimentary churros were a nice finishing touch. The service could have been a little better, but the ambiance and food are too good to give this place anything less than 5 stars. read more

The beautiful exterior as I passed by made me think I should go in here, but I was disappointed overall. The traditional margarita was so sour it tasted like pure land juice and my partner's old fashioned was just a shot of whiskey with extra ice cubes. The steak tartare was passable but tasted like pâté to me. The tuna tostada was good but there are better ones around town. The duck ravioli was good but it lacked seasoning. The entrecôte steak was so salty I had to send it back, and I love salt. I got a birria beef to replace it and it was just OK. The street vendors probably make it better. Our friends got the beet with burratta appetizer and it was also bland. The mezcalito cocktail was like, juice? This City has way better mezcal cocktails. Overall, ambience and neighborhood and service are 5 stars. Maybe the food was just off tonight. read more

I would give Blanco Colima 10 out 10 stars if it were possible! Starting with the service, I absolutely adored how kind and genuinely hospitable the entire team is. The ambiance is a mixture of the beautiful historic mansion itself, and the modern touches throughout the building. You can have a different experience in various parts of the restaurant. For example, the courtyard has an amazing scene - brick, greenery, and an atrium awaits. We sat at a table which looked over the street view which was awesome. The food is top notch, while we came for entrees, we ended up ordering so many appetizers due to how good the food was! Order the tuna tostadas and the hamachi - you will not be disappointed! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!! Favorite restaurant and experience while in Mexico City. Super cool historic building and sophisticated decor. The staff was very attentive, we felt like we had 6 waitstaff. Our waitress was so good and one of the few female waitstaff. Food was outstanding, tried to capture all our dishes in the photos and we shared every dish. Disappointing! Tik tok and others hyped up this location and all it has is the looks. Beautiful inside and out but that's it. So if you come for the IG post or tik tok video then have fun. If you come for food and drinks, go elsewhere. Chairs at the bar are not comfortable and lose. if you're a big person, just don't do it. Your back will start to hurt. Food- not appetizing and the menu is weak. The food selection is not the best. The Deserts are okay, if you love lemon I recommend the lemon dish. Maybe eat before coming here. Drinks- I had niebla escosesa and it was horrible. Tasted like syrup and medicine. The margarita and mijito was also bad. Service- took forever to get water or get any service. Blanco Collins was my favorite spot in the neighborhood. The decor and building itself is breath taking and no detail is left untouched. The layout and design are very representative of CDMX, along with the plants. The food was outstanding. Each dish, like the ceviche and jamon iberico, was high quality and not trying too hard. Extremely irresponsible staff (waiters) and unresponsive management. I went there with my family (including my two kids) to have lunch this past Sunday (March 24th, 2024). We were visiting Mexico City for the weekend. The first thing I point out to the waiter taking our order (his name is Mauro) was that my son has a severe nut allergy and to please make sure that the chef is informed in order to prevent any nut contents in my son's food. My son ordered pasta and a steak (that was the waiter's suggestion after my warning). The pasta came first and my son ate it all. When the steak was brought out, he was no longer hungry. I insisted that he try the steak (just one bite). He agreed and took one bite. He said he did not like it and, not 5 minutes had passed, he said "mommy, my lips itch." That is usually his first symptom when he is in contact with a nut allergen. I started checking his plate and found that the salad right next to the steak had crushed pistachios (a nut which he is extremely allergic to). I was upset that even though I did point out the food allergy, it was obviously not considered (or the message was not relayed to the chef) and the allergen was present on my son's plate. Nevertheless I was glad/relieved that he had barely consumed food from this plate (he only ate one little piece of the steak that obviously had contact with the pistachios on the same plate) and the reaction was minimal. My husband and I very calmly called a waiter (Mauro and go had taken the order was nowhere to be found at the moment) and pointed out the mistake they had done. We emphasized that they should be extremely careful when guests point out food allergies. This other waiter went back and spoke with Mauro (we assume). Mauro came out and started waiting other tables and would not even look at us. He did not even come to apologize. We asked for a manager and the manager was not present at the restaurant. We did not receive any apologies from anyone...only complete avoidance. It could've been so much worse had my son consumed his meal. I carry an EpiPen with him in case of emergencies...however should a severe reaction occur, the EpiPen only gives you time while an ambulance arrives. I don't know how the response time would be in Mexico. However, the point is that pistachios in my son's food should had never happened. There was no personnel response no manager response. I will never again go to that restaurant and will not recommend it either. The level of irresponsibility was disrespectful. read more

Please!!! Check your receipts/Checks. They will overcharged you twice or three times. They will treat you so bad: -the manager will never go to your table to check on anything. -if you tell them that they overcharged you, they will confront you with the servers. -the food takes forever to get to your table. -the food lacks flavor and are bland. -security will follow you everywhere -The wifi does not work -You have to beg them for a paper menu -you need a flashlight to read the menu. -It is so dark and loud that you will feel you are at a club. -They did forgot to serve some of the food we order too. -Food waiting time is approximate 45min between eacj plate. By the way, we were not the only one who got overcharged. Please expend your money somewhere else. The only place they will treat you well, will be the restroom. read more

Five of the eight of us got food poisoning - the two potential culprits were the tuna tostada or the kampachi tiradito. Blanco Colima is situated inside a renovated mansion from the early 1900s in the "Roma" area of Mexico City. I would describe the style of cuisine as Mexican-Mediterranean. All the items were delicious, but in my opinion the ones that shined best were the seafood items -- Octopus appetizer and the Tuna Tostada's (not pictured). The service was impeccable and we were seated (party of 3) on our own private deck without having asked for it. First, we got the mushroom croquettes and these literally melted in your mouth. This place was super cool! We stumbled upon it walking around on our first night in Roma. It is a huge old house that has been converted into a bar and restaurant. It has a very hip vibe - almost club like, but without the crowds and noise. You can eat dinner or just drink at one of the many bars. We were seated in the courtyard and took in the awesome design and architecture. We got reasonably priced drinks that were good - classic margarita and a beer. We also walked through the whole property, which I recommend. There is a lot to explore and see. I can't comment on the food, but we'd return to try just based on the aesthetic alone. Hands down this is one of my favorite restaurants I have ever had. I had a 6 course meal here and I think it was like $40US. I could not believe it was so cheap that I had to ask for some one to tell me again the price cause I thought I was reading it wrong . Regardless of the price it was, this meal was so fucking good I still tell people back in states that they should fly to Mexico City just to try it. The service was 5 stars and so was the food. These people working there treated me like a king and I look like a peasantry best. It's rare I eat at 5 star place with amazing service as well as amazing food. What an amazing experience. We planned to go to the restaurant next door that had a longer wait. We stumbled upon this gem thinking we would sit at bar and have a drink and salad only. Bartender hugo auh-mazing jalapeno margarita. Salad was crisp and fresh. The sundried tomatoes were I believe grilled and made in house. Snapper and the short rib both were well prepared and melt in your mouth. No knife required. I dont usually order dessert but we went all in and ordered the carrot cake. Dont skip on the dessert.
