When they first opened the food was good, but as time has gone by the quality just doesn't seem to be the same. The pepperoni on our last pizza that we took to go (which was well over 6 months ago) was about the size of a nickel, and was swimming in grease. Review will focus on three things: food, service and accuracy. Food - ordered a 12" Chicago style pizza (as well as an Italian Sub). Menu states pizza comes "loaded", but waitress was unsure of what exactly was on the pizza. Taste was great! More ingredients than bread (unheard of in typical pizza chains)! Plenty of ingredients. Not greasy. Good flavor and texture Service - initial wait for menu and drinks was quick. After order was made, the wait time increased significantly. Sitting close to kitchen we overheard some discussion about the other part of our order - here is where the breakdown of the service occurred... language barrier between waitress and cook staff - apparently cook staff did not understand that a sandwich was ordered alongside a pizza (even though it was written on order ticket), it was apparent they did not know how to read English. The discussion continued with waitress making hand gesture of opening/closing a sandwich, being bilingual myself, I understood that the cook staff was "just not getting it". I walked to kitchen window and asked in their native tongue if the sandwich had been prepared - they told me they were fixing to make it. We had waited long enough and since the pizza had been brought to the table, we told them to cancel the sandwich order, which leads me to the final portion - accuracy Accuracy - pizza and sandwich ordered, only pizza was prepared. Final thoughts - the waitress staff was busy. Our waitress was working feverishly to accommodate and serve all her patrons, while the other waitress ended up working in the kitchen, helping out the cook staff (normal?). Upon checking out, our waitress was apologetic and we asked if there was a manager on duty (no,-but we could have left a message if we chose to), we assured her that it was not related to her service, but rather to the language barrier and concerns about service due to it. All in all, the pizza was great, wait staff was friendly, price was in keeping with area. Would return if and when cook staff is better suited to know the orders and requests made by customers. Wait staff should not have to play interpreter - their tasks are busy enough. read more

This is a good option for pizza in Blanco! I recommend the deep dish-yum! The "normal" pizza tends to be a bit chewy when my family has ordered it in the past. The calamari and bread knots are super yummy! I have heard amazing things on the sandwiches here but I haven't tried one yet. read more

Food was excellent, we had 12" New York Style veggie pizza with pepperoni and sausage and garlic knots. Service was also excellent. Took leftovers home and got two tiramisu to go. My family and I went to this restaurant to try out pizza, pasta, and the salad. The pizza (I ordered the cheese pizza) was delicious and it had nice soft bread. The pasta (I ordered the chicken Alfredo) had absolutely no flavor and the chicken was dry. The salad (I ordered the chopped Italian) was good at the beginning, but towards the end I started to chew what seemed like lettuce, but it turned out to be the plastic wrap! I was absolutely shocked and anyone could have swallowed the plastic. The coffee was also very bad. It was a nice environment but the food was the exact opposite of enjoyable. Overall, I would recommend this place for just the pizza, but we still were a bit disappointed. read more

The restaurant is located on the back of the town square, across from the court house off 281. The restaurant is nicely appointed for family fare. We went in the afternoon and there were two waitresses and a couple cooks. I feel like I should say we went there for lunch last week based on reviews from our neighbors, the lights were on, it was during open hours, a young kid was inside looking out, but the doors were locked? We called, no answer. We left. BUT, this time we went a little later and followed some others into the restaurant and had a good choice of seating. We sat way too near the kitchen, so we ended up moving to the back - that was a good choice since the back is quieter and brighter than the front portion of the restaurant. Our table had a high gloss shine on it, epoxy finish I suspect, and it was a bit sticky to the touch, not dirty - just a tacky touch. We ordered a couple pizzas for our first visit - a NY Cheese Pizza and a Chicago Deep Dish pizza. The Chicago version won hands down because the dough on the NY was too thin and tasted as if it'd been overworked making it tough to cut and chewy. Plenty of cheese on both pizzas. The Chicago also had green peppers, pepperoni, onions, and ham with even more cheese. But the dough on the Chicago was more flavorful and less chewy with a perfect glazed crust on the thick dough edges. I had tea and it was just OK...this is Texas, I love tea, so having some tea that isn't freshly brewed is a bummer. Service was good and the pizza took about 26 minutes to make its way to the table. Fine by me, we were talking anyway.. Overall it's a nice restaurant, I loved the crust on the Chicago, but I'd say the cheese was a bit heavy. The NY Style, was too thin and the crust too tough as well as chewy. We can recommend it, particularly if you want something besides the franchise (nothing wrong with those either)... so try it out... pizza is very subjective and the place is nice, so worth a visit. read more

I was very disappointed that they menu did not have any "kids meals." I had my 2 grandkids & asked if I could get a lunch portion for my 2 yr old granddaughter since she couldn't eat an adult/dinner portion. The waitress asked the owner that said "no". We first ate here on a Wednesday night when they had music. Neal Ford played and it was a good time. The food and service was excellent. The pizza had a nice crust, plenty of the toppings we ordered, and cheese to spare. On our next visit we came alone, the food and service was still good, but the big screen TV had a 24-hour news channel blaring and it was distracting. If there has to be a TV, I'd much rather have music, weather or sports. I go out to eat to relax and 24-hour news channels are designed to excite. We'll definitely go back for the music, but not sure about solo dining with the cable news. read more

We should have just walked out at the beginning and saved ourselves the grief. It started when we walked in. We were the first in, we were handed menus and told we could sit wherever we liked. Then another family walked in and another couple. The other family was attended to first while we waited, then the other couple was addressed then us (although we were first). We should have left, but we were hungry so we decided to continue. We ordered the food and had to wait awhile for the food. Then the food came and they didn't include the extra topping that was supposed to be on half of the pizza, I told her we would just eat it like that but she had already taken it so we waited longer to eat. We also ordered the garlic knots to eat with our dinner and they were not fully cooked. The lasagna was just okay and the Italian sub was okay. We then asked for the ticket, but had to wait for a long time as well. Then we paid with cash, which required more wait time for the change. Very disappointed with the food and service. I'm done with this place. A couple years ago this was one of our favorite places to eat. About a year ago the service started to suffer; they were short on staff and the waitress, while pleasant and well-meaning, was out of her depth. Still, the food was very good and we continued to return. We just went back after being gone for 6 months and this will be our last visit. A different waitress who was always apologizing, and well she might. We'd been there awhile and were nearly ready to leave when she finally brought us menus and took our beverage orders. We ordered garlic knots, salad, and pizza. She confirmed that the garlic knots would come with the salad. Turned out to be a three course meal. The salad came and we finished that well before the garlic knots arrived. Then it was a long wait for the pizza. When it did arrive it was, well, warm is being generous. It reminded me of pizza that I reheat in the microwave; the cheese was set up and not at all hot. Such a sad thing to see this restaurant decline so much. Ok.... Tried some Pizza spots around the greater San Antonio area since we moved from the greater (Better) Chicago Area of Geneva Illinois. And yes I am a food snob!. I loved this place great service great food. Although the name is deceiving we tried an awesome little treat starting us out. Hanna our server who might I add did a great job, told us she recommended the "Pizza Rolls" the name was almost enough of a turn off due to the cheep frozen section bites you can buy in stores but WOW they were off the hook. I suggest they call them mini calzone's or something more in line with how great they are. The crust is perfect! great yeasty fresh flavor! LOVE IT! ok so on to the main dish we ordered our standard so we could base line it. Chicago style pepperoni and black olive. It came out smelling fresh and homemade. It was cooked perfectly and even as a 12 inch it served 8 healthy satisfying slices to our plates. Ok we will be back. I want to get to know the owner and share some Chicago secrets hoping maybe we can convince them to add a Mediterranean bread or upside down pizza to the menu. Just finished have lunch during the Lavender Festival. It was very obvious that the pizza crust comes from a box, their pizza sauce from a can and their ceaser dressing from a bottle. Our first ceaser salad came soaked with enough dressing for two salads so we sent it back. Pizza tray came cold and the pizza came only somewhat hot and only after an extremely long, very uncomfortable non-airconditioned wait. If you are a lover of pizza, don't come here! read more

We were not very happy with our first visit here. The place has a wonderful ambience, except there was an issue with the sewage that was smelling really bad in the restroom area. We understood things like that just happen sometimes, so no points taken off for that (unless it doesn't get fixed). They seemed understaffed, so service was a bit slow. The order wasn't right, which was a bit of a bummer, but I was too hungry to send it back after waiting as long as we did for it. Mostly, the New York style pizza crust was the toughest to chew I've ever had. I will say that David was really hustling and quickly dealt with our check after our waitress mysteriously disappeared on us, and the patio looked like a wonderful place to eat when the weather isn't too warm. Don't know if we'll try it again, but if we do, I doubt we'll order pizza. read more

We will never eat here again. We walked in and were told to have a seat wherever we would like. The place is was nearly empty. We chose a booth. The waitress took about 5 minutes to come to our table to take our drink order. We ordered 3 waters and 1 beer. We also placed our food order at the same time. We ordered a Chicago style supreme pizza and 3 side salads. We were told by our waitress that it was going to be a while because we came in behind a party of about 25 people (which we never sq or heard). She said she would be right back with our drinks and salads. We expected somewhat of a wait but nothing like what we experienced. 30 minutes later, our waitress shows up with 2 waters and 1 beer (no salads). Then another 15 minutes passes and she shows up with a pizza, NOT the pizza we ordered. She brought a pepperoni pizza. When we told her it wasn't right, she took it back to the kitchen and was gone for another several minutes. At that point, we tracked her down and said we would just eat what they made, even though it wasn't what we ordered. She still didn't have our salads, we had to ask. The pizza was decent but the service was terrible. I can't imagine what the wait time would have been if they were remotely busy. We will not eat here again. read more
