New sheriff in town! We moved from Canyon Lake, right before Elio's opened. We have had our share of pizza around the lake, hard press to beat this pie! We heard we may have to wait a while... Yep two times to long of a wait for us, as we were visiting peeps at the lake. Third time a charm... As it was worth the sit down. Cool inside Italian vibe, outside sitting. Then the pizza, Lord have mercy! Pictures paint the my meal. Cyaaa again, when we come to the lake. PS competes with any pizza we have had downtown San Antonio.

Ambiance was amazing. Feels authentic and the vibes are there. The food was great, the smoked salmon was to die for, and the shrimp that came with it was wonderful. Food was well seasoned . Our waiter and hostess gave great service as well. Great Supreme Pizza as well

Stopped in Elio's Pizzeria for lunch and sat in the bar area because the place was so full of people. That is always a good sign. My husband had a pepperoni pizza and I had the pesto pasta with chicken. Everything was soooooo good. Our server was especially wonderful. She took such great care of us. The ambiance was so beautiful and they have a very nice outside seating too. So cozy and comfortable that we can't wait to come back and enjoy another meal.

Enjoyed the Mediterranean salad and our server was nice. However, the service that we received in general was just fine (hence the 3 stars). It didn't seem like folks were particularly friendly here and not sure if the pizza makes up for it. The focaccia bread crust is wonderful and will definitely fill you up! They won't take reservations unless you have a larger party, so be sure to get there early. Pickup orders are served at the heat lamps.

The food was delicious! We had a great time. Make sure you ask about the off-the-menu items for a greater selection. The gnocchi was amazing! Their desserts looked amazing too!

Finally made it over to Elio's and had a wonderful lunch. We sat outside which had nice ambience except for the busy highway yards away. We had great and friendly service, and the pizza was interesting but a little light on the chicken and could use some more spices (I assume they were relying on the garlic cream sauce which I barely noticed. We hope to try the pastas and happy hour slot in the future.

Cheers. Great bottle of Pinot Grigio.

I just love this place. Friendly atmosphere at the bar and great food. Today I had the Philly cheesesteak. It came out piping hot. They are the best french fries I've ever had anywhere.

Second time in and our experience today was much different than the first. When we arrived the place was pretty busy. Estimated wait was 45 minutes so we grabbed a drink and waited outside. It was nice out and our wait was probably a bit less, maybe 30 mins. The drinks, I had a sangria and hubby got an old fashioned, both very good! We were seated outside and Jamison was our server. Jamison was great, very friendly, attentive but not overbearing. He even offered if we'd like some fresh bread while we waited. We obliged and he brought out fresh focaccia. It was warm and so good! Hubby ordered a pepperoni pizza, I got the steak special and we got the kids pasta of the day. A few notes on the food: The pizza is great! The kids pasta despite having it with "red sauce" before we were told "red sauce" is not available for the kids. Uh what?! My steak meal was delicious, cooked very well. Jamison came back to double check that I wanted my steak medium well as Mr Gennaro wanted to make sure I had the best experience. I appreciated that but still wanted the original temperature. The steak came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was told when I asked for a steak knife that they currently did not have any but they are working on that. Mr Gennaro actually sent me a knife from the kitchen to use! What!! I was super thankful though it wasn't completely necessary. For dessert we had the Italian Crème Cake and the Almond Tiramisu. The Italian creek cake was so light and moist, the frosting not too sweet. We didn't get "Tiramisu" from the Almond Tiramisu, it was good, the Almond flavor was definitely there. It seemed more of an Almond Cake, still delicious just not what we expected. We enjoyed our time and meal here.

I was surprised it wasn't crowed. Our waitress was wonderful. She was fun and attentive. The place was well staffed, Lots of servers walking around. The food was actually, GREAT. When I think of a big, juicy, burger, this is what I'll think of. I asked for grilled jalapeños and boy, they added a kick. The fries were fantastic, too. The crisp was about perfect.

The first time, someone in our group wasn't wearing a shirt, so we were told we couldn't come in. While I thought that was a little odd considering it's a restaurant on the lake, I can understand that they have a dress code. The real issue started after that. We were turned away two more times because I had my service dog with me. We were told we could just order our food to-go and sit outside in the Texas heat instead of dining inside. On one visit, we were actually seated with my service dog. We were getting ready to order when a staff member came over and told us we had to leave. It was embarrassing and extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, the host didn't even know where our table was. Instead of walking us to it, we were told to "just turn the corner and find it." I've never been to a restaurant where the host doesn't escort guests to their table. The food wasn't bad, but the service was so poor that it completely overshadowed the meal. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this place. You're honestly better off ordering Domino's and having it delivered.

When we were poking around looking for breweries in the area on Yelp we came across The Shady Llama! This place doesn't make their own beer but they have lots of guest taps for breweries in the surrounding area. It's a good variety of beers to choose from and it looks like there is at least one food truck available sometimes in case you get hungry. The main draw for why we came here was to see the llamas and indeed we dis see some. One of them gave us some attitude and then sauntered off down a hill, taking it's less moody companion with it. They were funny and with the attitude I got and the name of the place I posted the Eminem song "My Name Is" where the lyrics "Slim Shady" get mentioned on Instagram because I thought it was all quite fitting. In addition to seeing the llamas we saw a great view of Hill Country. There was a lot of seating when we were here and could pick pretty much anywhere we wanted to sit. But I'm sure the place can get busy... the location and those llamas are reason enough. Cold beer, moody llamas and beautiful Hill Country... definitely worth the stop!

I've wanted to come to Shady Llama for years, and we finally made it out yesterday. I am so…read moredisappointed in myself for not coming all the time before this, because Shady Llama is EXCELLENT! First, the staff members are very friendly and know everything there is to know about their available wine and brews. I love that almost all (if not all) are local sips - it's really great to see all of these different places in Wimberley/Dripping Springs/Spicewood support each other. Just another reason why I love Hill Country! When I saw Lazarus Rice Lager and St. Elmo, my gluten free heart skipped a beat, because both of those brews have been treated with the enzyme that makes the brews (normally) OK for those who are gluten sensitive but not for those with celiacs. I don't miss beer, but those two brews are too delicious to pass up when I see them on tap! We also tried the Spicewood wine flight, which was one of the best wine flights I've ever had, and I cannot wait to go buy bottles of each to bring home. All 3 were delicious, crisp, robust, and beautifully paired with each other in the flight. The views were beautiful. Beautiful is honestly an understatement. I love that so much of this area is still undeveloped. I'm sure it was less developed even 5 years ago, but the views from Shady Llama while sitting in a wooden porch Adirondack chair sipping some wine is perfection. I can only imagine how beautiful it is at sunset. I do wish they had a couple more tables by those chairs so I can rest my drink, but it's uneven and probably hard to do so, so I happily will sit with my brew in hand and relax. There's also plenty of seating but not overly crowded with chairs and benches which is love, and I loved the hammocks too! This place is GREAT for families. Playgrounds, slides, almost all kids areas gated so you don't have to worry about them running into the woods with critters. Fun for all ages, and they're just far enough from the seating to minimize the noise that this kiddos love to make! I loved the llamas. Some of them were so spicy and truly just wanted the food, and I feel that. No pets, just food, and I applaud it. Some of them would let you pet them, and the personalities on some of them were REAL, but give them some food and they may let you take a picture. So much fun having them there! Add on some delicious brisket in the back (I am so sad I missed the burnt ends), and all in all, the Shady Llama is GREAT! You are also able to bring outside food, but no outside beverages! Great place and cannot wait to come back!
