I called them about a week later to reschedule him. My husband took him for his appointment and he text me and said / did anyone tell u they were charging u a no show fee? I said no and I would call. I told her who I was and my dog and husband were there. I explained what my husband told me & she told me I did not cancel my appointment. I told her that I did and I also paid the upfront charge of $50 to just make the appointment with them because we were new to the practice. She yelled we charge that because people just don't show up. I told her I don't do that. She asked me who I talked to. I said I didn't know because I didn't ask who it was. And I told her I had left a msg to cancel the other appointment. She then argued with me about all this & I said. U know what. Just send them home. U don't need to see my dog. When my husband came home he told me she came in the room and slammed the door open and said they are leaving. He said the vet kept talking and she kept trying to make him stop talking. My husband just said I'm leaving. I did hear bad things about them in the past from people that had been there. But I thought I would try. Very unprofessional. I don't know why anyone would go there. They could improve the office staff & procedures

Although I rarely had the same vet twice my three boys generally seemed to receive good care. (Note: The veterinary doctor turnover here is regular.) Things changed recently. The owner of the business was the attending vet when my pup needed care. My current golden is the gentlest friendliest dog on the planet. Due to virus circumstances, I had to drop him off rather than take him in. Three different vets prescribed hundreds of dollars in meds over the better part of a month. A special dog food was also prescribed. The limitations of the virus were significant but I paid what they asked. The canned food prescribed gave him diarrhea on top of the symptoms for which I took him in. I was concerned that we kept throwing expensive drugs and food at the problem with no success. When I called for information, the vet was often not in. He would respond via his cell. His caller i.d. was disabled so when my cell rang with an incoming call from "unknown" the first time, I didn't answer. When we finally talked, he had no notes and relied on me to tell him what we had done so far. As I attempted to fill him in, he would cut me off, rarely letting me finish a sentence. I took my pup in for a battery of tests. They kept him for an afternoon. When he got home he had a hairless patch just under his left eye that he didn't have before he went in. I was concerned. I called about it. They had just closed so I left a message with the answering service. Another vet returned my call. I was told no one knew anything about it. They said he must have rubbed the hair off on the cage in which he was confined. I voiced my concern. Dr. Sam eventually felt an endoscopy was required. They wanted to keep him for a day again. Due to the virus, the office was communicating in various ways. I emailed to ask they please take good care of him. Dr. Sam called to tell me he thought I was being "irritable" with his staff. HE was irritable and had an angry tone. I was never once voiced my concern in an unprofessional way. I told him I was shocked by this. He finally admitted that I had always been respectful and professional dealing with him. The day of the procedure, I emailed again to request they keep an eye on my little buddy. Dr. Sam called me and once again, in a very agitated voice told me "come get your dog." He was not going to do the endoscopy. He added angrily there would be no charge. No charge? Since they didn't do anything, I considered this to be an acerbic remark. One never knows what is going on in someone's life. Everyone is stressed during these times. Maybe this doctor is undergoing some extreme stress. That is NO excuse for this level of unprofessionalism. Given the circumstances, I feel the need to let others know what happened to us. We found another vet with less stress.

I explained they always fill the script for me. She was rude and crass!! I wanted to get the pills before it got worse so he would not need the shot. I asked her if she could ask the vet about it and then get back to me. So here we are a week later and I call to get an appointment. Same woman answers the phone. She was letting me schedule the appointment. I then tell her about my last call there and that she never got back to me. How was I to know there was a script there for my dog. Her response was, had u called u would have known. What????? And the arrogance in her voice. I said to her I specifically asked you to call me and let me know either way. She said well it's here. Great employee. Plenty of other people need jobs. She is chasing business away. Both my girls take their animals there as well. We won't be taking them anymore. Do better

The person impersonating a doctor came in and would NOT come within 10 feet of her. He was concerned about her temperament and the muzzle wasn't tight enough, she could still bite...she could only bite something 2 inches big, if that. The staff was little to no help either. They barely stuck their hands in to drop off paperwork. I understand being cautious, but this was complete UNPROFESSIONALISM from them. How can you take care of animals like this? We ended up taking her to BLUE PEARL (10 stars plus) an emergency vet care in Wyomissing and the staff were all over us helping us with her...and NO MUZZLE. They were not the least concerned. Our dog had a completely different experience and her attitude was showing that. She knew they were showing her care and concern. If you love your animals find a vet elsewhere....if you need emergency help, BLUE PEARL all the way.

We were faced with the heartbreaking decision to euthanize our beloved senior dog, and when we reached out to our regular veterinarian, we were met with a devastating lack of empathy. Desperate and grieving, we called the Oley Valley Animal Clinic--even though we were not even existing clients. From that very first phone call, everything changed. The front desk staff was remarkably kind, gentle, and understanding. Recognizing the urgency and emotional weight of the situation, they completely bypassed the fact that we were new to them and squeezed us into their schedule immediately. The entire office demonstrated an amazing level of compassion. They treated our sweet dog, and our family, with the utmost dignity, respect, and tenderness during one of the hardest moments of our lives. They gave us the space and time we needed to say goodbye, never making us feel rushed. While the circumstances were incredibly sad, the kindness we experienced here was a profound comfort. They went above and beyond for strangers in their time of need. If you are looking for a veterinary team that genuinely cares and treats your pets like their own, look no further.
